I must say that I'm relieved to see people so open about their journey with WLS. It's comforting. I know it's not something to be ashamed of, but at the same time, that's the only reaction I know. So it's because of that reaction that very few people know what I've been preparing for over the last year. I'm scheduled for…

It's great to have a support system of people who actually "get it" and understand.

Welcome back! I wish you the best of luck on your goals and I'm right there with you! I have a bit more than 20lbs, but losing is losing.

Weight-loss does start in the kitchen. It's just science. It's 80% diet, 20% exercise. So while they were on the right track, they just worded it incorrectly.

I completely get this, but I think part of it is that people are creatures of habit. There are certain machines that they prefer. For instance, I will use any of the treadmills that don't have a tv attached, but I will only use 2 of 4 treadmills that do have tvs attached because they have better audio than the other two.…

It's annoying because I've got my ear buds in and I'm not taking them out to answer a question that doesn't need to be asked to begin with. If they see that I just started using it, wait. If they see me using it period, wait. Find something else to use while they're waiting. If it's any type of machine that has someone…

I returned my Polar A360 because it wasn't tracking properly and Polar Flow and Polar Beat SUCK compared to Fitbit's app. I'm much happier with my Fitbit and their app and have no issues with the syncing. Good luck!

In my experience, if you keep yourself busy, you'll be fine. When I quit, I found that the only times that I really wanted a cigarette were when I was bored. When you quit, you tend to replace that void with snacks. All things you already know... So to combat both, just get up and go for a walk or better yet, get a fidget…

WHAT? Are you serious? I'm Vitamin D deficient and am supposed to take a supplement, but don't. I never really understood what the importance was, but now I do. #MindBlown

I'm not on the fence with this, I'm over it. I absolutely refuse to promote fat-acceptance. If you're 100+ lbs overweight, you're not healthy. I am in that category, so I would know. I don't have diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol or any of that awesome stuff that comes with obesity. But I do have a bmi over 40 and…

What exactly is wrong with her "psyche"? Seems to me like she hit it pretty spot on. As a former smoker I can attest to everything that she pointed out about smokers vs fat people. It's very rude of you to attack someone personally without even an ounce of reasoning to back it up.

Is your wife force feeding you? Don't blame your wife for YOUR actions. YOU have to be accountable for YOU. You can control YOUR actions, not someone else's. You need to practice accountability and stop blaming your wife.

There are ABSOLUTELY "good" and "bad" foods! Pop Tarts are filled with chemicals! However, I'm completely against the schools telling us as parents what we can and cannot pack our kids for lunch or snack. Unless it's a rule like "nothing with peanut butter" due to another child'd allergy, then I am totally on board with…

Keep in mind that this is something that YOU are doing, not him. It took me a while to realize that just because I needed and wanted to do this for me, I can't expect everyone in my house to play along as well. As someone else said, this is the real world that's happening in your home. Just like outside your home, you…

Pretty sure that nothing you could would ever make ANYTHING from McDonald's healthy. Sorry.

I'm realizing how "basic" I really am because apparently, I love way too many "trendy" foods. Starbucks (I'm been drinking this for close to 20 years now, not going to change just because it became trendy) Veggie Chips (they just taste good) Hummus (Only Sabra and preferably Roasted Red Pepper) Greek Yogurt (I'm basic here…

It's supposed to be very good for different things such as psoriasis (and other skin ailments), arthritis (various kinds) and a few other things that I can't think of. I'll stick to my Humira.

I used to buy only at Target and Old Navy - cheaper items. However, they don't tend to last very long. So I starting buying some higher end items (on sale of course because when it comes to myself, I'm a cheapass). I really like the workout clothes from LB. I haven't ventured out to anything else simply because I have…

I'm a G and the only place that I can find them is at Lane Bryant and I absolutely love their bras! Great support and their comfortable.

I read something on the elliptical in the early part of the summer and it's really put me in a different mindset than I have been: Expect nothing. Appreciate Everything. I've always been one of those people that if I didn't see a 3lb loss every week, I was pissed. That's why I could lose but it always came back. You can't…

I do understand you questioning because it's been pounded in our brains that breakfast is the most important meal because it gets your metabolism going... yada yada yada. Without knowing anything about IF, I have found that I do prefer skipping breakfast most days and those end up being the days that I'm successful and see…

My biggest issue is that after having taken plenty of health courses toward my nursing degree and talking to nutritionists, dietitians, doctors and personal trainers, I've come to realize that there's no absolute one scientific way to lose weight. It's a lot of trial and error and basically learning what works best for…

I have a black Fitbit and I just wear it all the time. I work in an office and it doesn't really bother me, especially considering that I see lots of other women in dress clothes sporting one as well. I do have a friend that has the Fitbit One and she, like Sued0nim, wears it attached to her bra.

I would recommend that for you snacks, get rid of the fiber one bars and perhaps replace it with a protein shake that is 200 calories or less. I don't eat back my workout calories as I wasn't losing when I was. I've checked with my doctor and personal trainer and they both agree that it was the right move for me.

I've made it past the 5 minute mark while running. This is huge for me as I LOVE running, but haven't been able to do it in a long time. Another one - I've inspired my daughter to start working out! THAT'S HUGE!!! Girlfriend hates working out, but I can tell she's already lost about 10 lbs.

How about.... Real women come in all shapes and sizes. If THEY are happy and comfortable with THEIR body, that's THEIR business and no one else's. I for one am not happy or comfortable in my own skin. I am not naturally overweight. My mindset is not that of an overweight person. Therefore, I'm going to do something about…

Wasn't aware that there was a debate. It's pretty un-debatable. Running clearly burns more calories. You're increasing your heart rate, which increases your calories burned. It's kind of a no-brainer.

You need to confront him, but in a diplomatic manner and in private. Gossip is an ugly thing and often times, NOT TRUE. Before assuming that what you heard "through the grapevine" is true, give him a chance to either defend himself or explain himself. If it is true, then he has zero business working in this industry.…
