You're not alone. But I fear i might be. I actually think ALL yogurt is disgusting. Seeing someone eat it is enough to make me gag.

I don't put much faith in the BMI scale.. by its measure Duane "The Rock" Johnson is morbidly obese. It is meant as a generic calculation for completely sedentary people. if you exercise even a little and start building muscle its essentially a useless number. Heres a link to an article i read last year that explains BMI…

Excluding the spider, these pics make me want to go to Hawaii.....

^^ this Its in the past, leave it there, move on and look to the future.

It all depends on your body's reaction to the brand of pill. The last time I went off the pill I gained 10 lbs in a month. Yes "off" that's not a typo. The brand I'm on now has not changed my appetite and I loose weight faster on it than off. Lost 4 lbs in the first 2 weeks. Which is standard for some people, but I'm on a…

Yes. Under the "My Home" tab, Go to the "Goals" area and change them to whatever you want. ps. i'm in awe that you do ultra's.

I've had mine for a few years. I started out doing the yoga workouts, but now I just use it as a weighing scale. one thing that bugs me is that it uses the BMI system to tell you if you are Under / Over weight or Obese, which is great if you're sedentary, which i'm not. So I swear at it a lot when it tells me I'm obese.

Amazing transformation Dave. You're doing great.. keep it up

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.. thats why I say you should eat it for all 3 meals. Breakfast for breakfast. Breakfast for lunch. And most importantly breakfast for dinner!

I weigh myself on Saturday mornings only, just after I wake up. I tend to freak out too much over the little daily fluctuations if I weight myself more often than once a week.

Nope, Vancouver BC... but we hear about 'explosive' news like that. lol.. sorry bad pun, I blame Friday afternoon. Update on eavesdropping: One guy is counting like The Count from Sesame Street. " One... ha ha ha..... two... ha ha ha... " It really is friday afternoon lol

Mine are discussing the fireworks show that was supposed to last an hour but everything went off at the same time and it lasted 15 seconds.

It's almost identical to a sweet n sour shrimp recipe I make. So very yummy.

Shin pain is usually a sign that you're going too fast. Try slowing down. And make sure you're stretching properly before and after your walks. Or like previous poster said, try riding a bicycle. Or Swimming is a great option, if you can't swim, see if the local pool has any aqua exercise classes. I've taken a few, and…

here's my opinion (& rant) :grumble: Its for people who are too lazy to be bothered learning about real nutrition and healthy eating. They're looking for that magic solution. If they did some research on actual food, they would find they can eat WAY more of that than 2 shakes a day with a 'proper meal' for dinner.....…

Sounds yummy. Must try it this weekend. Thanks.

OH.. Scotch eggs and Ready Brek.. Haven't had either in years, not Since I moved to Canada. I used to love both these foods as a kid. Had no idea they were unhealthy. I'll have to google their nutritional values. Welcome to MFP and congrats on making those changes in your life. I've got a desk job and didn't even really…

depends on how the AC is working in the office. Usually room temp but I have been known to drink hot water, with just enough cold water to make it drinkable. (think the amount of milk you would used in tea or coffee)

Woo Hoo... thats awesome. Time to go shopping

I know what you're feeling... Its not pain as in the hurt sense, its pain in the muscle rebuilding sense. I got home from my jog one Saturday morning and thought... "when the heck did I become a person who thinks its fun & relaxing to start the weekend with a 5km jog" And I started trying to recruit everyone I know into…

I cook it in a little chicken or veggie stock, just enough so it doesn't stick to the pan. Add sliced mushrooms and onions, ground tumeric, cumin, and corriander. If I have them in the fridge, I'll add eggplant and zucchini too. Serve it with cous cous.
-
Sorry, me either. Was a busy week, but slow for jogs. 5/7 = 1.59 mi 5/9 = 2.16 mi 5/13 = 4.11 mi Total week 1 = 11.89 miles Total week 2 = 7.86 miles To go = 30.25 miles

I wish I could because my mom needed a transfusion a few years back and I wanted to help out, but there's a law (rule?) in Canada that if you lived in Europe for so many consecutive years after 1980 you can't donate... and because I lived there until 1996, I'm out. Something about mad cow disease. So thank you to all of…

not sure if its stupid, but it was frustrating to hear: "you'd think the weight would be just dropping off with all this running you're doing"
-
hi giggles welcome to MFP. Invite on the way.

5/1 = 2.1 miles 5/3= 3.5 miles 5/5 = 1.36 miles 5/6 = 4.97 miles Total week 1 = 11.89 miles To go = 38.11 miles
-
Of course we can change that. Invites on the way. :)

I agree with this. Something light banana & toast is great. If its your first 5km don't be concerned with speed or your time. Just focus on doing your best and crossing that finish line  Good luck.
