My problem is I know nothing about building mucle, this has never been one of my goals hence why I am trying to find out now how easy it is to gain muscle, but by the sounds of it its not very easy at all....?

How can i measure my body fat?
-
Such mixed responses..... I have always used cardio before to lose weight but for some reason i just thought.. you use muscle to move meaning you use muscle to run which means running would build muscle and building mescle means weight gain? Just a thought.. Ill prob not worry too much about it.

Very interesting and good on you!
-
hmmmmmm..... bad bad scale :(
-
Maybe I should keep going as I am (only using food deficit to loose weight) then once i hit my plateau I shall do exercise to mix it up?
-
I see, half a pound a month would be ok, this would not interfere too much my my measuring... :)

I want to lose body fat from my face, legs, hips and waist... so basically every where (I realise you cant lose weight off any particular part) The thing is I would'nt mind just gaining a bit of muscle on my legs etc but thing is I need the scales for motivation, If i dont see just small drop i just lose motivation and…

So basically if i have a calorie deficit and do sa 2 hours of running a week will I still loose the 1 lb a week loss?
-
Not too muscly.... I do a bit of cardio as it is so if I just do something like 2/3 hours of running a week????
-
It depends what you call over weight... My BMI is ok but could be better, I know my fat % is too high
-
Ok I understand what you are saying, but for me its about loosing motivation, its always been my problem with dieting, I find I need to measure so I can tell my self im doing well.... it may sound strange to some people but for some it must make sense?????

Interesting.... I am aming to loose 1lb a week (I am on week 6 of 16) and I am not over weight but could afford to lose a few inches off my waist etc, I weigh myself every week and if i dont see the 1lb a week drop I know I will get disheartened (and probably give up) so should I just stick to what I am doing?

The shakes will be expensive because the manufacturers advertising is basically saying "drink/eat this and you will be thin!" and of course alot of people will pay what ever the price to be thin. My tips are: - Soup! not sure if you are in uk but a tin of soup is usaully around £1 -Jacket potatoes -frozen fish (the easiest…

Hi, Not surprised. Less is often more. Especially when you are trying to loose weight! If you take a sports drink to the gym you will be consuming calories when you are there to burn them! Lucazade Sport is 140cal per bottle which would take 18 mins on the treadmill to burn off. Might no sound like a lot but considering…

Hi I am in the same situation but I think in your case the gain is more likely to be down to muscle gain and like someone else said a difference in the scales. Also if you are exercising you may not be taking in enough fluids meaning your body it retaining water because it thinks there ia a water shortage or something and…

Hi millyvanilli3, thanks for your response :) I am feeling better now and am going to just concentrate of how many calories I am consuming and just trust by body to loose the pounds.
