  • White rice, cooked. Mixed with bbq sauce, tomato chutney, mayo and diced pickles. I used to make a HUGE batch and gorge on it until I was so full I felt sick. Haven't eaten it in ages, though
  • My wedding was the worst I've ever attended. I love my husband, and that is the most important thing, but the wedding sucked big ones. Hubby's side of the family showed up to our ceremony in jeans and sweaters (his sister showed up wearing a dirty, too small, white button up shirt, long skirt and dirty sneakers with messy…
  • When painting your toenails becomes a work out When random strangers make it a point to walk AROUND you at a restaurant so they don't "catch the fat" When you can no longer find work out clothes in your size When you can't got clothes shopping in "regular" stores When you have to consider the size of your hips while…
  • Nope. We don't have credit cards. Just prepaid debit cards so we don't owe anything. We do have debt, though. I have a reasonably small student loan, and we are about 8 months off paying out our car loan. That's it for us, though.
  • I'm a 2000 calorie girl :) I like food, and I've never dropped below 1700 cals. I eat a bit more when I work out if I'm hungry.
  • I've got about 145lbs to lose. You can friend request me if you like. :) You can do it!
  • So far I haven't cut anything out, and doubt I will. If I want a cupcake once a week, why not? If I want a couple of squares of chocolate every night, or some crackers and cheese, I'll have it. Same with crisps/chips, pizza, brownies, ice cream, coffee etc. I'm not afraid to eat the things I enjoy.
  • I'm planning on doing the 30DS and C25K combined. 3 days a week I will do C25K + Yoga, and 3 days a week I will do 30DS + walk + Yoga. One rest day, and a day of easy walking or a beach trip (or 2 rest days if I feel like I need it)
  • Yes, I worry about it occasionally. It was even enough to stop me from wanting to lose weight for a while, because I didn't want to be left saggy and baggy. Then I decided that saggy skin is not going to give me a heart attack, or make it hard for me to get up out of a chair, or run long distances. Being over 300lbs will!…
  • Thank you all so much for coming in and commenting!:flowerforyou: I've read all the advice and have taken notes on what to look out for when I go shopping. Today I did a 7km walk, the 30 day shred and half hour of yoga, so I'm not starting out completely unfit, but when I'm not working out I'm fairly sedentary, and I'm…
  • dbmata - thank you! That was a very real, bare bones post. I appreciate your honesty. Working on a treadmill is not an option for me at the moment. There isn't a gym close by and I can't afford to buy one. I prefer to work out outdoors anyway. Thanks again.
  • Thank you so much to everyone who has commented so far. I have spoken with my doctor, and she said the same as what you all have said. Work up to it, go your own pace, and trust your body. My blood pressure and resting heart rate are fine, so she doesn't see any reason for concern. I'm very excited :)
  • I'm so glad to hear of so many people giving running a go! Makes it a little easier to get out and take that first step!
  • Hi! Thanks for replying. I do walk for about 45 minutes, 2-5 times a week depending on when I can talk myself into leaving the house, so running just seems to be the natural next step. I am prepared for it to take a bit longer than recommended, because I'm willing to repeat days if necessary. I'm just sick of never trying…
  • Thanks for replying, ladies :) I was just curious to see what you all are doing.
  • I'm so sorry for your loss. I do not know Buudharich, but he sounds like a lovely man.
  • Hi. Thanks for all your replies :)
  • Because, by the time you work out my BMR/TDEE 1700 calories seems to leave too much of a deficit. I do know that cutting as many calories out as you possibly can isn't always the best way to approach weightloss, and I'm not one of the "Magical 1200" club. I don't want me weightloss to stall because of too few calories.
  • Hi Tora :) Thanks for your reply. Yes, we do seem rather similar! I am just starting my 3rd year units as of the 29th May, so I've got a couple more years before graduation because I work all over the place and plan on taking some time off, but I plan on being a Primary teacher (5yo-12yo in Australia). I am scared, but one…
  • Hi Kayrrie, I am of the thought that full cream is better. Closer to it's natural state and all. The good fats in food, while still need to be watched, are good for you and will provide you with the fatty acids etc that it needs. My nutritionist is dead against skim, 2% etc, and is even more against throwing out a…
  • Hi all. This group popped up in my side bar, and given that I have about 145lbs to lose, I thought it would be the perfect place for me! My family has a history of morbid obesity. Every member over the age of 10 is overweight, with the older generation being obese. I was a healthy weight my whole childhood and into my teen…
