Thanks for the replies everyone, I knew I wasn't the only one. It's very encouraging to still be seeing physical changes, even though I am eating to maintain. I plan to stick to my exercise routine, eat and just enjoy the ride.

Found the amount of food I needed to maintain my weight, logged it for a few months, then one day decided that I was becoming too obsessed and didn't want to log anymore. I glanced over previous diary entries, ascertained the kinds of foods I ate on a daily basis to maintain and stopped logging cold turkey. My weight has…

BMR-1815 I've been maintaining on 2500-3000 everyday, usually a bit more on long run days.

I've noticed that I can't eat quite as much of the really rich, sugary desserts as I used to before it makes me feel icky. But other than that, I'm still able to enjoy the occasional piece of cake or slice of pizza without feeling any negative effects. Which is good, because I happen to like that stuff!

This isn't particularly surprising. Unless you've personally weighed and measured the food you're eating, you can't really be too sure of it's caloric content. With something like a Big Mac where it is assembled by just eyeballing the ingredients and you know the person putting it together probably doesn't care much about…

Even though I'm maintaining, I still get a bit apprehensive when I am invited out to eat. Fortunately, most of the restaurants around here are of the salad bar/buffet type so it's not too difficult to pick and choose what you eat as well as portion sizes. I mainly stick to whatever fruits and veggies are on the bar, maybe…

I'd be very careful about continuing to run with any kind of lingering soreness in the ankle/heel area as it wouldn't be much of a stretch at all to develop tendinitis, especially if you have been rapidly increasing your mileage. As others have said, definitely see a doctor and cut back on your mileage. A tendon injury is…

2000 calories really isn't that much food, especially for someone who exercises as rigorously as you do. Given your activity levels and the fact that you're a 34 year-old dude, I'd say it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to eat closer to 3000 or maybe even a bit over if you're truly burning 1000+ calories.

I've enjoyed the Clif Honey Oat bars. I usually have one everyday with the rest of my lunch. Definitely better than eating a Milky Way or Snickers!

When I bought a scale, I found out that I had the opposite problem. I had been severely underestimating my portion sizes and caloric intake. And no, not by just a little bit that wouldn't matter, either. On some things it could result in a difference of 200-300 calories at every meal. Over the course of a typical day that…

On lifting days usually 30-45 mins (sometimes a lot less time if I'm having one of those IDGAF days, because I'm not terribly enthused about weights) on run days anywhere from 45 mins to 2 hours or over. There's also the odd 30 minute walk or whatever other random prolonged heart rate elevator I encounter during the week.

I eat a lot of legumes, fruits and veggies, so I usually eat around 350-400 grams of carbs a day on a 2500-3000 calorie diet.
-
I eat just enough meat (like once every few months) that I don't consider myself a vegetarian, and I don't consume dairy on a consistent basis, either (usually only when I make cookies or something along those lines every couple of weeks). I strongly support a diet comprised mainly of fresh fruits, vegetables and other…

If it fits within your calorie goals, no harm done. I learned a long time ago that life's too short not to indulge every now and then.

I just try to be in the ballpark of my maintenance cals everyday (in my case 2500) and don't really worry about whether it's under or over because I'm not logging anymore. Obviously, on running days I try to eat back some of my exercise, but on other days I more or less try to be + or - or a couple hundred cals of 2500.…

Hey there, I was in a situation very similar to yours not too long ago. I found that even though I had lost all the weight I wanted and was in maintenance mode, I was still logging onto MFP every friggin' day and logging everything that went into my mouth. Not only that, but I was constantly rushing to the computer before…

I did find that it became annoying and I was also becoming obsessive about it, so I just stopped logging altogether. I know what I need to eat, I know how much of it to eat, so I really don't give it that much thought anymore. Then again, I'm currently in maintenance, so it's not absolutely vital that I need to keep track…

I certain times when I was losing weight I did, but not anymore.

For me (having lost about 80 lbs + or - a few), I have found that the more weight I lost, the more confident and outspoken I became. I'm at a point now where I sometimes have to really watch what I say because I can get a little too sassy and end up saying something that comes across as being a smarta$$. I think a lot of…

I'm not in weight loss mode at the moment, but I eat 30-50 grams of chocolate (granted, not anything like a Snicker's bar or Milky Way,etc., just basic dark or bittersweet squares from a bar or chips) a day and haven't found myself mysteriously putting on weight or foaming at the mouth. Like with anything else, as long as…

My brother, who was quite a bit skinnier and who I always assumed to be the healthier of us, went to the doctor and found out he had high blood pressure and pre-diabetes. The doctor basically told him that unless he changed his diet and exercise habits he would more than likely, based on family history, go on to develop…

Eating close to maintenance or at a surplus will slow down weight loss, not fruit.

I usually find myself gaining 15 or 20 lbs during this time of year, mostly due to inactivity and eating like crap all the time. I'm going to try really hard to gain only a little (like maybe 5 lbs) if any weight. I plan to continue my exercise routine as well as my maintenance diet. It's worked the rest of the year, why…

I second this.

I started maintaining at 19.9, which was actually I bit lower than I had intended, but I had become lax about weighing myself and woke up one morning, weighed myself and found that I was at a weight where I thought it probably wouldn't be wise to lose 5 or 10 more lbs, so I decided to just maintain. I like where I'm at, I…

What's worked for me is having my "splurges" take place on my long run (10+miles) days. On those days, if I've had a craving for homemade ice cream, brownies, or whatever, I go ahead and treat myself. Yes, I still try to keep sane portion sizes, but I can eat it without an ounce of guilt afterwords. I think instead of…

I too kinda had this problem, beginning when I started going into maintenance mode back in June. I'd make out my meal and exercise plan for the week and it seemed like I was constantly logging in every day before each meal to make sure that I was getting the exact portion that I had logged in the plan and worrying about…
