Plan a once-a week treat and log it in. Maybe for Fridays? So maybe this Friday you get bubble tea, next Friday it's a pastry. It'll allow you to not feel deprived and to look forward to your treat each week.

The Volumetrics book by Barbara Rolls has an amazing recipe for a cold soup that uses cukes blended with greek yogurt and lemon juice as a base, then you also add more diced up cukes, corn, tomato and herbs. I was looking for a filling, low-cal recipe for those days when I am hungry but don't have a ton of calories left. I came across this soup and when I made it (with jarred veggie broth) it came out to less than 100 calories per huge 2-cup serving, and it's quite filling. I've been eating it for lunch with a Wasa and some…

I agree too. This is exactly what happened with me. I used to think of foods as bad or good and would feel deprived when eating "good" then eat "bad" and be so upset at myself. When I started doing this, I quickly realized no, I don't want those fast food fries or that candy bar because they'd take up too many calories. I…
