  • Calories burned definitely depends on your age and weight so the MFP tracker isn't acurate. When I got my HRM I actually found that I burned more than what MFP said!
  • Have you measured yourself (waist, hips, thighs, arms)? You'll find that if you're not losing weight, you're probably losing inches especially if you just started that workout! Remember muscle weighs more than fat so I'm sure that you're building muscle. Don't weigh yourself for a couple of weeks and I'm sure you'll see a…
  • I agree...Shred videos first. Start with Shred 1 and work your way up to Shred 3. Power Sculpt (Biggest Loser) is good also for strength training!!!
  • All of JM's workouts are great! Good luck
  • I'm doing wellness coaching with a Fitness Center manager and personal trainer and she's got me between 1500-1800 calories a day. I work out at least 5 days a week but for the past two weeks have been doing 8 workouts during the 7 days to boost my metabolism. She says for as active as I am I should be eating at least 1500…
  • I don't eat all my exercise calories but I do go above my 1200 calorie a day allowance.
  • Listen it doesn't matter what size you are or what people think about you just as long as you feel good about yourself! As long as your confident in yourself that's all that counts. There are still skinny non-confident people out there! We're all in the same boat though and I applaud you for taking the first step to a…
  • I'm a vegetarian and I LOVE Morning Star! I eat the Maple flavored breakfast sausage patties, buffalo wings (over a salad with blue cheese crumbles), chicken strips (makes great fajitas!) and the crumbles!!!! Great product!
  • I haven't done Zumba but my suggestion is to get a heart rate watch monitor (Walmart for $25.00) and you would be able to get an accurate calorie burn because it's based on your own heart rate and how hard you're working out. I have one and find that I burn more calories than the average that websites tell you!
  • You need to eat at least 1200 calories a day or you're depriving your body. Also take a day off during the week of working out.
  • So your maximum heart rate should be 220 - your age. So if you're 30, your maximum heart rate should be 190. Fat burning zone is 45-55% of that, Cardio zone is 55-65% of that and Endurance zone is 65-75% of that. I just got a heart rate monitor that is a watch and also shows how many calories you burn during a workout.…
  • I've lost 14.4 pounds so far since starting my new years resolution!
  • Turbo Jam is great!
  • Did you stay within your nutritional goals? yes Did I reach yesterday's personal goal? I guess so What did I do yesterday that I am proud of? I did not exercise yesterday! What would I have done differently? I wouldn't have had the ruffles chips & dip. What is today's personal goals? No chips today! exercise weekly…
  • You should never have that many calories left at the end of the night....I always plan next days food the night before so that I can guage when & what I'm eating so I don't end up with so many calories left at the end of the day.
  • I love Turbo Jam and have been doing it consistently for 5 weeks now! I use the weighted gloves with all of the TJ workouts and definitely see the change! Charlene is great!
  • OH ya I agree! You're not eating nearly enough! On days that you don't workout you should be eating 1200 calories, then on the days that you do workout (if you do and you should) you should be eating maybe 1300-1500 calories! Also you're not eating vegetables at least that I saw!
  • It's great! It incorporates cardio & strength training so you burn more calories!
  • Any of Jillian's videos would be Circuit Training I would think! They burn alot of calories
  • Drink a lot of water and lots of vegetables with each meal.
  • I've used them and actually like them alot! They don't smell that hot but just boil them in water for a few minutes. You can use them with stir fry or as the noodles for spaghetti! They are so much healthier for you!
  • Congratulations on taking that first step and good luck!!!
  • When I exercise I eat back some of my exercise calories. For example on days that I exercise I eat between 1250-1400 calories when I've burned between 500-600 calories. On days that I don't exercise I stay at my 1200 calorie goal. I've been successful so far...10.4 pounds in 3 1/2 weeks.
  • I agree with the not eating enough! Also have you changed up your exercise routine? Vary it week to week.
  • So here is what I do and I've had pretty good success with it. My calorie goal is 1200 calories a day so I eat at least that in food. I workout most nights so I have those extra calories to eat if I choose to which I never go over 1400 a day. Now I plan my food for the next day the night before so that I'm not trying to…
  • I agree...what kind of snacks have you been eating??? My snacks are usually fruit, string cheese, almonds. Once in a while I'll have a treat with a ff/sf latte or a cookie but I stay within my calorie goal. Snacks are suppose to be part of eating 5-6 times a day! Good luck to you!
  • I'm a vegetarian like you...or a Pescetarian. I eat a lot of protein but the carbs I eat are whole grains. I don't like the low carb diets because once you lose the weight and eat some carbs, you gain it right back! Try eating most of your carbs (whole grains) before 5pm and see if that makes a difference!
  • I've been doing the 30 day Shred off and on for a year and have always used 3 pound weights throughout the workout. You're doing a lot of reps along with cardio so it's always best to start out light and be able to make it through the whole workout without straining yourself. You can always work your way up to the 5 pounds!
  • I'm a vegetarian too and I love the Morning Star product! I use the crumbles with black bean and corn heated together on top of greens & veggies to make a great taco salad! Also the chicken strips are great on salads or in fajitas! They have a great line of products.
