Beautiful changes! Thanks for sharing. I was getting depressed with the scale too, but seemed to think I'm looking better.

Some foods I know are supposed to cause bloating - broccoli, diary. Have you tried reducing some of these? Maybe move to soy products?

Perhaps cutting back to 1200 is too much too quickly? I've heard the body goes into starvation mode with sudden loss of calories and as a result, your metabolism goes down. I'm no expert though. I know it seems counterintuitive since your doctor told you to go to 1,200 calories, but could he/she be reacting to your…

I'm really sorry to hear about this. I've struggled too, lost only 5 lbs in 5 weeks, but at least I see the scale change...in the right direction. The only thing I wonder is whether you're logging your food portions correctly? Or maybe, if you haven't exercised for a long time and are only just starting out, it'll take a…

I like bananas, but I find them high in calorie and not particularly filling. On days when I do eat it, I find I shoot over my calorie goal because it didn't fill me up!

Hi. I'm also 5'6" and am determined to lose 25lbs. Just started last week, and already have had some of the emotional highs and lows. If you'd like to do this journey together, please add me as a friend. I have one or two now who are very encouraging and we blab our frustrations, and pat each other's back for what we did…

I think you did a really good thing by recognizing when you're ready to splurge, and when psychologically it's just not the right time. We have enough head battles without all the temptation. But at some point, I think you'll need to start thinking of a strategy to handle whatever situation comes up. Maybe cut that veggie…
