  • You have to have the Bad days occasionally to know when you're having a really good day!
  • 4.2 miles run today consisting of 1mile warm up, 2 miles at 5k pace then 1.2 mile warm down home. https://www.strava.com/activities/785033478 Got a 5 mile race on sunday so today makes for a good race pace tune up.
  • While i agree 'move more' is not needed its how I did it. I ate sensibly within reason and trained for various ironmans and marathons. But yes the scales bit i by far the hardest bit to explain as they just look at you like your some kind of weirdo, weighing your food. I still have co workers look at me funny when I bring…
  • A diary full of cup measurements followed by a thread started by said cup measurer 'Help I cant lose weight'
  • Having been a 4XL person previously I put on my L t-shirt this morning when I got out of bed. Walked to the bathroom and all I thought when I looked at myself in the mirror was 'Dammit, i'm skint I can't afford new clothes again!!!' Hahaha. Those Large t shirts are now too large!! I can't wait to be buying mediums…
  • So very true! My response is always 'Eat less, Move more'. They look at you like you're taking the p!ss. I think with all the media attention on fad diets people have become conditioned into thinking the only way you can lose weight is to pay over the top prices for some quick fix powder type thing that basically just does…
  • It's really good you just need time to be able to put the hours in once the weeks really build. the Competitive plan peaks at 22hours a week training if I remember correctly. I work shifts and have no kids so tend to be able to fit it all in but i'd hate to think how hard it would be to follow with a 9-5 job and kids!!
  • I have a gift that the girlfriend wont let me have till I hit 95kg and at 90kg she has promised to buy me a lego helicarrier. It may seem odd and childish but I love it! haha Oh and I also have a shirt in the wardrobe i've never been able to fit in and i'm so close to it fitting I find myself literally the most motivated…
  • Don Fink Competitive Ironman plan. Got to love 3 swims, 3 rides and 4 runs a week including a brick session.
  • If you can eat 2.5k of calories a day maintain energy levels while working then personally I wouldn't worry about losing weight too quick. Embrace it but remember it slows down the smaller you get. you'll need less calories and burn less. Eventually it may level out. If you find you can't maintain energy levels then up you…
  • For some its a massive moment and for others like me it probably seems quite insignificant. Regardless the fact you're on here would suggest you've already had yours.
  • It's probably more to do with men generally being larger therefore needing more calories to sustain a weight and getting that deficit is easier. You don't see men posting about struggling to eat at 1200 cals as they even the small men are probably at 1800 or so for the equivalent loss rate. Personally i'm around 25lb from…
  • Whenever I get up in the morning and the Girlfriend says its a weigh-in day. The unknown helps me to not have a bad day or two of binge eating knowing I have the rest of the week to recover. Generally it's will be around 2/3 weeks but she has surprised me with a weigh-in 2 days after the last one.
  • I was on my second set of scales as i'd 'outgrown' the old set and I still managed to 'zero' them. One full loop back to zero was my moment to say 'enough'
  • I've got the rear one for my bikes and its fantastic. One of the very few lights that works on both normal and aero seat posts
  • FWIW and forgive me if i'm wrong but I'm assuming your 10k is about 65 mins and the 8 miles around 90 mins? If so you'll be fine without any form of water. I understand that it can be comforting knowing you have water with you but your body wont really need it as long as you start out properly hydrated and you're not…
  • I have an older pair of Bose 'sports' headphones that have a shorter cable. It allows me to run with a sun visor with a iPod shuffle clipped to the peak and the headphones linked round the headband without having the issues of a cable down to your arm or waist. They are a couple of years old and probably wont last much…
  • Just a gentle 10k this morning before I crack on with the house cleaning.
  • Late to the party as I didn't run today but yesterdays effort was a morning 5k Parkrun taking it seemingly steady only to come in 30 seconds away from a course PB. Then headed of to my Tri clubs monthly Track session where we ran a Magic Mile. First Time i've ever Dipped under 6 mins for the mile which was nice. Can now…
  • Whenever I see posts like this I just think about an article I saw once. http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2014/03/10/to-the-fatty-running-on-the-track_n_4935194.html Just get in there. Learn to love it and ignore the world around you.
  • Personally I'm not eating anywhere near as low as 1200 a day but I find from a snacking point of view I find Jelly pots really useful. They can be less than 10 calories and some of the flavours are more like 5 or 6. I tend to not even bother counting them but they work well for satisfying the urge to snack without…
  • My goal is another 8.8kg lost putting me at my goal of 90kg and hopefully i'll be able to fit into the lovely shirt my girlfriend bought me last Xmas that I thought I would be wearing by easter!
  • Rides tend to be 35-40 miles without a stop this time of year. In the summer they are longer with a coffee stop.
  • Sorry only just spotted this. as i'm not that regular on the MFP forum. Yeah thats my local shop. I live about a mile away in Northwood. They have an awesome cake collection and my missus loves it as she is Gluten and Dairy free so very rarely gets cakes to eat except in there. If you're up for it they lead sunday Morning…
  • Yeah that would make sense. I get those at work but we call them DnA tests (Drugs n Alcohol)
  • This is the answer to everything you need to know/do. You don't need to go to a gym or go for a run to use more calories you just need to do something to get that heart pumping a bit more. As I have always said 'Eat less, Move more' is all that you need to do. 10lb is fantastic and you deserve congratulations for what…
  • Not entirely sure what a UA is?
  • Exactly. I have had 'naughty' foods but because of the unknown I have kept it in the realms of a coulee of jaffa cakes or a posh yoghurt rather than a a packet of doughnuts and a 12'' meatball subway!!!
  • My running club does magic mile track sessions every 2 months which are tough and finish with a sprint but my last proper sprint was at the end of the first cross country race of the season a few weeks ago. Flat out sprint to try and pass the guy in front was on my knees once i'd past the finish
  • 35dollers. If you're riding a quest bike and your local shop has pinarellos and trek I'm guessing you live in harrow? I'm up the road in Northwood. I'm also the owner of a quest audax bike although mine is specced with 105. I've had it a long time and I'm in the process of replacing it. I'm thinking either the Dolan Dual…
