  • Hello. I'm reading - Reclaiming Yourself from Binge Eating: A Step-By-Step Guide to Healing by Leora Fulvio. Still only on the first step of the various exercises the book has you do but just simply admitting to myself i have something other than a lack of will power has had a massive shift in the way i'm thinking about…
  • Dont forget you're rest day! Exercising that much just for the sake of exercising i'd say is too much as would you by the very fact you've written this post in the first place. If it was me cut down on the morning runs, maybe drop the odd evening session so you have more time with your Husband and maybe try and convince…
  • Remember treadmill running is just bouncing on the spot whereas running outside involves propelling yourself forwards. C25K programs are good but if you're already running 1.5 miles I wouldn't bother with it. Personally i'd just look at implementing a basic run/walk strategy and see how it goes. Run for 8 mins and walk for…
  • Not new to the forum but new to this group. No Formal BED diagnosis but reading up on it and taking all the online questionnaires would suggest I very much do have it. However finally putting a name to it seems to have had a pretty interesting change to my thought process, or lack there of and giving me a new focus. So for…
  • That you'll discover some oddities about your own body! I have a pigeon chest which although perfectly symmetrical thankfully means that now i've lost most of my gut when I lay in bed I can literally grab the underside of my breastbone and pull out on my ribcage!
  • 1.26/100 for that much breaststroke! Wow!!! impressed! well done Oh and you do sweat in a pool too ;)
  • Think about training as part of the load you put your body through for the entire day. Over the course of a day you have only so much load you can put on it. if you have a really gentle relaxed low stress life away from the gym then you will find you have more capacity for training but if you have a busy job, 5 kids, a…
  • Thanks for all your input. Really useful to see that i'm not totally alone. I do understand that it never really stops when I hit goal its just this current lifestyle i'm in now started around 7 years ago when I hit ~350lb and i've been doing it so long I don't really know any different. Before that my life is much like…
  • My Girlfriend is both GF and DF. We find the easiest way to avoid it is to just use alternatives where necessary and cook from scratch. Very few dishes 'need' either of those. We get aolt of our recipes from a book called NOSH Gluten free. Available on amazon. Most are also df or easy to substitute with an alternative.
  • Fellow former fit fatty here. 4.03 marathon and 11.38 Ironman all while the wrong side of 110kg Now the right side of 95kg(still a bit to go to hit goal) and just as fit but so much quicker! Every day the weight comes down the speed goes up. Love it! Initially I was 140+kg but would still go out and ride for 40+ miles and…
  • 28miles on the Bike for a nice 90 min spin out in the sun
  • When I got on the scales and they told me I weighed zero! The dial had span all the way round back to zero and they they were already scales I'd bought specially as they read up to a neither weight than the old set!
  • See I totally get the bread thing! part of the reason i've needed MFP in the first places is bakery soft white rolls, butter, sliced ham and Cheese! Nothing better than Ham and cheese made in fresh white rolls!
  • What do you want to do? Answer and then do that.
  • You like video games? Pokemon go! probably the best game you could find! Hours of walking around in circles trying to catch that elusive [insert name of pokemon here] Good luck
  • I'm not GF/DF like the Girlfriend but when it's toasted I don't actually mind it. Admittedly we rarely have bread in the house but when we do I have no problem eating it. Waitrose also do the Fresh breads I believe too.
  • Managed a trip to the supermarket without any need for a 'treat' despite walking down the sweets and treats isle. Walked out with nothing more than the peppers, strawberries, carrots and chicken breasts I went in for! For me that huge!
  • I guess in terms of answering your question you need to quantify what you'd call a result? As this is basically a weight loss forum then for me cardio is king. I can go and smash out a 4-6 hour cycle on a day off, burn a bunch of calories and put myself into a massive calorie deficit while doing something I really enjoy.…
  • No problems. I'll answer what I can Thats a lot of issues to work round but if your medical doctor says its okay to cycle then trust them. If you have back issues and need to ride upright with a straight back then thats not a problem at all. everyone is different on a bike and rides whatever way is most comfortable for…
  • Depends on who you're speaking to. Compared to the average non competitive runner then yes it's fast. Compared to the 5k times those in this thread will be capable of then no it really isn't. Thebigreenmachine did 2 back to back 17min 5k's to get his 34min 10k time. My best is 19.18 and for someone 95+kgs I consider it…
  • Very true. Since I've dropped a lot of weight I've needed to buy 2 suits on separate occasions and in both cases I've had to buy separate jackets from trousers as the jackets would fit perfectly but the trousers that came in the set I couldn't get past my knees! Not a massive issue but it limits your choices if you don't…
  • Triathlete here. 3 iron mans, 5 marathons, 1 double marathon, countless Half marathons. My knees are fine. My mum on the other hand has never ran a day in her life and has had both hips and one knee replaced and the other knee needs doing! So in my experience not running gives you bad knees! Haha
  • All GF bread is pretty bad in comparison to normal bread however the Warburtons stuff is about the best we've found in sliced form and Tesco's do some fresh unsliced bread which is also pretty good. You will find it disintegrates if you so much as look at it the wrong way so it takes time to learn to work with. We've found…
  • If you're a bigger guy then by all means don't bother exercising as you have ~2500 calories a day to play with and it's really not difficult. However if yours a smaller person working with much smaller numbers you really don't have a choice if you don't want to end up resenting the process. 1200cals is not fun so being…
  • The new Tickr forearm one is supposed to be very very good. And because in broadcasts via BLE and Ant+ some machines will pick it up and failing that you can pair it to pretty much any fitness app and log your hR that way
  • I still think that. In medium t shirt, 34" jeans and yet I'm still convinced I'm a fat person
  • Do you think you are getting a benefit from them? If so go for it, if not don't. I think the scientific community is still undecided as to any measurable benifit
  • Myself and the GF live by ourselves in an apartment which has a main bathroom and an en-suite one. The main bathroom has 2 extra hanging rails and large clothes airer and all spare coat hangers. Literally gets used for nothing more than drying clothes! And it's always always full!
  • As pointed out the Fenix 5 is a great watch(i have one) and as much as I don't golf I know it does have the capability to be used for golf. the FR935 is the top of the line running watch and the Fenix is more the 'actually looks good' running watch that has stupid long battery life. I last charged mine before I left for a…
  • New Bicycle frame after a 6 month wait has finally arrived in the shop and will be built up this week. New wheels going on it have a weight limit and the target is to get as far away from that number as possible as i consider myself uncomfortably close to it at the moment
