  • Typically, is the weight you "gain" after a cheat meal or cheat day just bloating, water weight etc? I always see a 2 lb weight gain after a cheat day.
  • Thanks everyone. I didn't even think about it until shortly after I posted. Fasting as a way to make up for a large splurge will probably just lead to a cycle of unhealthy eating. I'll just try to drink plenty of water and get back on track.
  • Thanks! This is the one I was looking for. I used it awhile back and forgot to bookmark it,
  • Awesome! Do you mind if I ask your stats?
  • Do you have the formula or a link where I can calculate my TDEE?
  • That makes much more sense. However, I'm assuming when MFP suggests a 1200 calorie diet for me to reach my goal weight of 160 lbs (2lbs per week), it's also expecting me to eat back my exercise calories? Even so, I think that's still a little under isn't it? If I ate 1200 calories, plus any exercise calories, I'd still…
  • Thank you! All your tips and advice are really helpful.
  • I'd love to complete insanity, regardless if I lose a ton of weight with it or not. I think it will help with my endurance and cardio which will only help me further in the long run. I'll have to check out his newest workout though!
  • Thanks so much for everyones tips, advice, and comments! I decided to attempt it anyway. I love a challenge, but my biggest downfall is that I'm a perfectionist. I just have to accept that I'm not going to be able to keep up with the people on the DVD yet, my form might not be absolutely perfect but I'm practicing and…
  • Yes, I think that the meds contribute to weight gain due to the increase in appetite and lethargy which makes you lazy and hungry all the time. However, I also believe that some of the meds can contribute to a lot of water retention, and there are some meds that can have an adverse effect on your thyroid and metabolism…
  • I was prescribed topamax a few years ago as an alternative mood stabilizer. It ended up just making me extremely irritable as I was on it for an extended period of time. I had hand tremors, blurred vision, slow thinking etc. It definitely affected my ability to communicate and i felt dumbed down on the medication. I did…
  • Right now, I'm doing about an hour of cardio, with 15 minutes of that being HIIT/Burst Training, about 4-5 days a week. I'm also beginning to incorporate strength training back into my routine, aiming for about 3 times a week (arms and chest, back and shoulders, and legs).
  • It's going to be completely different for everyone based on height and weight. It's not something you can really compare. Right now I'm eating 1800 calories and losing weight but that number might need to be readjusted in a week or two. It's all about calculating numbers that are right for your body and a lot of…
  • Hey! It sounds like you're doing great so far. Congrats. You should be super proud of yourself :) I made a post earlier today looking for some support as well and I'm hoping to meet people that can help motivate and challenge me. I totally understand your eagerness and your struggle to lose weight. I'd be more than happy…
  • Starting on monday. It looks intense and I'm pretty excited. Feel free to add me for support and motivation :) I know I'm going to need it.
  • Newly vegan! I attempted a vegan lifestyle almost 5 years ago, but only for weight loss purposes. I felt great and lost weight but only kept it up for 6 months. I'm back on a mostly vegan diet, but this time it's for more than just weight loss. Recently, I stumbled upon some really informative documentaries and reading…
  • I'm a little over the age limit but I figured what the hell. I'm 27, looking to lose an extra 40 lbs that I gained over the last 2 years. Anyone can feel free to add me. I'd love to make some new friends and help support or motivate each other :)
