If it is a special day, I let myself go within reason. I am a big believer that you sometimes need a higher calorie day anyway to keep your metabolism guessing. For the most part, I stick to my limits and then have a day here and there where I don't track, and just let myself enjoy it

Totally do-able! My sister is celiac, and lactose and egg intolerant. Because of this, my whole family has gone away from breads, etc because it is just easier that way (when we have family dinners, etc). I don't even miss my breads This does, usually, involve a lot more cooking on your end

Those are my favorite. If I really want one, I go in and buy 1...then I can't go crazy

Oh, I know....in the same boat. I wish they would bring back our old plan- we paid more for it monthly, but the coverage was just less stressful.....plus I switched from Minimed to Animas last year and their billing is atrocious. I've never spend so much time on the phone regarding improper billing.

Is that part of your deductable? We went from 100% DME coverage last year to a deductable this year. Rude awakening

I have week day booze out from my home. I used to sit on the couch with a glass of wine or 2, almost every night. Now, if I drink during the week, it is at an event- which occurs rarely. I try to drink only 1 weekend day....and if I go a little over, it is ok. I have cut so much of it out of my life, and I dig some wine…

I usually don't, but this weekend we did a top to bottom scrub fest, and I totally counted those. Scrubbing floors on my hands and knees for an hour totally counts!

Sunday is our food prep day. We make all of our breakfast egg muffins, and package them up separately for each day. We usually cook all lunches and reheat at the office- we usually also package them up for the week (I weigh them here and log them ahead of time). We also wash and package up any fruits or veggies for the…

Depends where you are, honestly. Italians aren'texactly known for running, but in England or Germany, you will see way more people out running- when I lived in Rome I would get such weird stares when running! You probably will walk a lot more in general. I'd say you could do things like the 7 minute workout (rounds of…

Half a scoop of protein powder before I left home, and then 2 of my morning egg muffins (red bell peppers, onions, feta, frozen chopped spinach, and eggs) when I got to work. And black coffee

I think it is natural to be under some days and over on other days. Many people here like to look at their quantities as a weekly average or total (so my goal would be to have ingested around 11,550 calories per week). I often try to stay under during the week so I can go a bit over on the weekend.

wow-awesome!

wow that is low...my usuals range from about 30-35 units if Humalog daily. But I have been batting some weird lows and highs. Basal rate is 19 units total per day

Well, my weight stayed the same and I lsot 5% body fat...

Yes and no. My sister was a very petite cardio bunny (like 5'-4", 105 lbs) and hired a trainer a year before her wedding to achieve better muscle definition. Although she didn't go to heavy lifting, she did a lot of free weights and TRX with the trainer and really developed some nice muscles. I do not think she wouldn't…

Eh, I lost just under 5% body fat in 6 weeks earlier in the year. Definitely possible

I understand you are a bit overwhelmed. I will share my approach to getting back into shape, which I staretd last September. First, I started cardio classes just to get in better shape in general. After a few weeks of things like Kickboxing and Spin, I started adjusting my schedule to accomodate classes htat included…

Oh those TDEEs...depends on the site. IIFYM says a 20% reduction is 1656. 15% reduction is 1760. Scooby gives me anywhere from 1650 to 1830 (based on whether I choose 305 hours per week, or 5-6...most weeks it is 5-6). I've tried a few different TDEE numbers. I started at 1700 for a month with no change, then tried upping…

Also- frustrating in that it is always 'if you eat at a deficit, you will lose weight', 'calories in, calories out'. I cannot imagine that netting in the realm of 1350-1400 cals per day is somehow not eating at a deficit
-
Weight goal...just so frustrating. No, not even weight goal- clothing size, whatever. I am just not looking smaller, and haven't for a while (and the giving up comes from feeling like I am working so hard- measuring food, hitting macros, working out religiously- and not much is changing). Trying to re-kickstart that…

Not in a while- though 2 weekends ago I just let myself sleep and skip workouts

Current macros are 35% carb, 30% fat, 35% protein with a TDEE goal of 1650 (no eating back calories). I hit fairly close on most days (some days I do go over on carbs). 35% protein is 144 grams.....so I think that is about as high as I should go. As for carbs, the majority come from fruits, veggies, Quest bars (which I…

Yeah, the 'nutritionist' was talking about taking less insulin...but I don't really take much anyway and I am pretty sure that just encourages diabulimia. I am convinced that taking insulin may be playing a role in this (I've been on insulin for almost 28 years)

hahha MFP ADD The only thing I really adjusted after the body fat loss was to add heavy lifting and remove one cardio day. And since I wasn't burning nearly the calories that I had been by adjusting my schedule to accomodate lifting, I thought adjusting my calories might be prudent. I can certainly up them again and try it…

Are you consuming 1300 or netting 1300? I did respond to the nutritionist and asked her if she meant net calories...she completely ignored that question.

Sit at a desk mostly, but living in NYC, I walk everywhere (no car!). I walk about 5,000 steps in my commute to and from work. That is per a phone app, so all the up and down at work I do not track. My 'normal' days on my phone land me around 6,000 steps per day plus all the office walking and gym time. I wish I had more…

Definitely leaner and I am very happy with the emergance of muscle...I am just looking to further slim down a bit and I, at this point, son't see that happening without losing a bit of weight
-
I used to work out in the morning and loved it, but most of the classes that I like are scheduled in the early evenings (anywhere between 6:30 PM and 8 PM). I can adjust my lifting during the week for sure, and I do workout in the morning on weekends...but I really dig my kickboxing and TRX classes, which are only at…

Many places also have 'lunch' sized options- I often find a good salad in a normal portion satisfies me

I make egg muffins on Sunday for the week...20 eggs, 1 cup of frozen chopped spinach, 3 bell peppers, 1 onion, and some Feta and seasoning. That yields 24 muffins, which both my husband and I take to work each day. I divide them up into bags for the week, toss them in the fridge, and grab one bag each morning (and…
