  • You know, this may sound weird, but high high kudos to you for saying so, in public! (Although I'd never guess it by your picture! You look great!) I can't honestly say I've ever admitted that outloud. Somehow I can call myself "fat" but the O word...ugh. It takes courage, so I applaud you. Best of encouragement and…
  • Hmm...you know. I don't think I've even noticed the sodium in them before! Thanks for the heads-up!
  • I really like the Morningstar Crumbles for recipes that call for browned hamburger. I like the Morningstar much better than the Boca! (And I'm a big carnivore  )
  • I'm a junk-in-the-trunk-er. I'm still in the same size. It's 20-25 pounds per pants size for me :(
  • Eggbeater omeletes come to mind.
  • Gimmick. Anyone who eats only 500 calories a day is going to lose weight. If HCG actually curbed hunger and made people lose weight, pregnant women wouldn't be hungry and wouldn't gain anything but weight from the actual baby and amnio. BUT they don't.
  • Can I just play devil's advocate for a moment? I've been accused of being "jealous" and "resentful" of a friend who is trying to lose weight, and I can honestly say it is not the case. I know the person very well, and I know that she is a "fisher" for compliments. Most of her talk about becoming healthy is done from a…
  • I'm sorry to read this. No one should be treated this way. Whether or not you WANT to leave or ever would, you should consider finding a professional to talk to. You need to take care of YOU. When someone abuses you and degrades you like that, you are the one who loses yourself. He wan'ts "the woman he married back", but I…
  • I know that men often throw in a few protein shakes to help them keep their muscle weight up. You should try finding one you like. Some girls get all the luck! ;)
  • I'm in the same boat. Up 2.5 pounds. Its frustrating, but what can we do? Can't give up!
  • It depends where it is. I had problems with pain in my left sacroilliac joint (where the tailbone meets the pelvic bone in the very-low back). I was sent to physical therapy, and the exercises they gave me helped alot. i can still feel it some days, but it doesn't get the way of activity. that's a far cry from when it was…
  • Is my math off or doesn't 4 pounds in a month mean 1 pound a week? That's the recommendation for healthy weight loss, so maybe it's just some perspective that should be tweaked. You're doing great.
  • I think once you're over a certain age (and sadly, that age is still in the 20s) they just don't ever go back to how they were at 18. :(
  • Your body will tell you if its too much. You'll just not feel good and your body will hurt. The BL people are working out 5-8 hours every day (but yes, supervised) so as long as you feel okay and don't have any underlying medical conditions, you should be okay :). Good for you for taking a liking to it! Its still a…
  • Well Week 1 Day 3 was an epic FAIL for me :( I tweaked my knee. I felt it the second I started my first jog/run. i only managed about 4 1-minute jogs and I had to stop. And now I'm walking with a limp.....fan-freakin-tastic! :p
  • If you believe it is wheat (meaning likely gluten) there are a few things you can do: 1) ask your doctor to test you for Celiac Disease. 2) try an elimination diet - remove all wheat/gluten from your diet for a few weeks and see how you feel.
  • If people can be "naturally thin" then people can be "naturally heavy". However, that doesn't mean a "naturally heavy" person cannot be within a healthy weight range. It just means they may have to put more work into it if they want to be lighter. I will never be a size 4. When I had my son, my OBGYN was nice enough to…
  • I haven't. I lost weight quickly initially, and now it seems to have stopped. I haven't eaten more than 1500 calories in the last month and I've been working out, but somehow I'm up 2 pounds.
  • I've tried it for cakes and brownies. For cakes: perfect! It makes it even a little more moist and it tastes every bit as good. It will make your brownies more cake-like than thick-gooey 'normal' brownies. But! They still come out tasty!
  • I second what everyone else has said, and have something to add! Do you have Jimmy John's in your area? I recently converted to their UNwiches which is 'sandwich' meat in lettuce wraps instead of bread. They're still surprisingly filling and you avoid about 200 calories from getting rid of the bread. it's now my standing…
  • I gained weight when I stopped taking it rather than the other way around. Everyone's body is different and there are dozens of types of pill out there. Give it time and if you just aren't happy with it, ask to try a different one. Good luck!
  • Way to be supportive..... A 6.0 is a 10-minute mile, and that is certainly not jogging. She's doing fine whether she meets your standards or not.
  • Our gym has a few but I've never used them. I take it you recommend it?? How does the movement feel compared to ellipticals?? I was afraid it would feel more awkward.
  • Are the reps bringing you to muscle fatigue? You'll know it if it is! If #10 isn't the absolute last one you could do before resting, then you need to go heavier.
  • Hmm...maybe that's why I had to make adjustments. I've only been working out again (a 6-year hiatus) for the last three weeks. I did C25K week 1 starting Sunday (day 2 yesterday). I made my own adjustment to 60 second jog and 2 min walk (instead of 90 second), but I went 30 min instead of just 20. I've been using 3.4 for…
  • This recently published peer-reviewed scientific study directly contradicts your claim, btw. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21372000 (this is the abstract. If your employer or school has access you can read the entire paper through the link on the upper right).
  • Two words: Junk "science" The vast majority of stuff being posted are just things that people "heard" and are repeating, but there isn't any scientific (real scientific, not just something some guy posted on a website) evidence for most of these claims.
  • I make up some hard boiled eggs and keep them in the fridge. I grab two and a piece of whole-wheat toast on my way out the door. I like the South Beach cinnamon and raisin bars, but they're not quite hearty enough to last all morning. I usually pair it with one of the hard boiled eggs (or 2 depending on how hungry I am!)…
