  • ALLI isn't really an agent yo help you lose weight, but rather make you sick enough so that you will stop eating high fat foods (which, carry the highest calories). carbs and protein carry 4cals/gram while fat is 9cals/gram Hence, with the side effects (like anal leakage) the people are less likely to choose their fatty…

  • Actually, anything under 1200 is considered starvation mode because the average person needs atleast 1200 calories (not 1000 calories) for their body just to function--breathing, pumping blood, etc. I wouldnt dip below--your metabolism and weight loss will eventually slow because of it.
  • Your body can fluctuate up to 7lbs in one day. Also, being a female, your body begins to retain more water than usual before your period.
  • But good job and trying it out! I love it.
  • The best way to do circuit training is to vary between leg and arm exercises in EACH set. That way, you dont exhaust one muscle area too quickly and it makes it more of an aerobic exercise. ---just so you know.
  • circuit training is where for each set you do 2-3 exercises which work different portions of your body. For instance, doing an arm, leg and back exercise per set. If you do this correctly, you shouldn't be resting inbetween exercises--thus, the rapid movement coupled with your blood having to quickly move from your arms,…
  • Loose skin happens. Regardless of age. Regardless of the speed of weight loss. And regardless of what exercises you do. All of these factors can minimize the amount of excess skin but wont ensure or prevent it. I was 19 when I lost 84lbs and have excess skin on my stomach and arms. The biggest factor concerning excess skin…
  • Studies have shown that the Pill itself does not make you gain weight. It doesnt mess with your metabolism--rather, the pill may induce food cravings. So, in the end, its what you choose to eat rather than the Pill itself.
  • Actually "starvation mode" begins in 24 hours. Your brain REQUIRES glucose to function. So, within 24 hours of having not eaten, all of your body's glucose stores are used up. Your body then goes into what is called "ketosis" where it begins to break down muscle (which is protein) into amino acids which can further be…
  • I use to to complete cardio and I lost the most pounds this way ... however, I went through clothing sizes faster by weight training. Cardio is burning some fat, but depending on how quickly your losing and your calorie intake, you're probably losing muscle as well--so while youre scale says your losing weight, youre…
  • Alli is basically a system to monitor your fat intake, by making your body have adverse reactions to it. People lose weight because they are having to stay away from fatty foods--which carry the most calories (1 gram of fat carries 9 calories as opposed to 1 gram of carbs or protein which carry 4 calories) If you need the…

  • The most accurate weight loss indicator is your actual measurements--not your weight on the scale. I hit a point where I only lost 1lb on the scale but managed to drop a pant size bc I was converting fat into muscle. Seriously, for most people who workout--as in lifting weights--weight scales are never correct. My personal…
  • 1/2 cup of oatmeal with 2 tbsp of natural peanut butter. Keeps me going from 8am to about 2pm
  • I dont think this diet will work. To burn one pound of fat, you have to burn 3,500 calories. So, lets say, your BMR is 2000 calories ... by eating as low as 1200, you've only managed to burn 800 calories--which means, at the gym, you would have to burn 2,700 A DAY. And the drinking of lots of water, although good in its…
  • Also, the only reason why diet drinks have been considered to make people gain weight is NOT because it slows the metabolism (caffeine speeds the metabolism to an extent, not significantly) but rather, because your body recognizes that you are consuming food ... however, there is no calories or nutrients in such diet…
  • The evidence concerning diet drinks and sugars are still inconclusive. However, anything with caffeine dehydrates you ... so you can't count it as a water source. In fact, you would need to drink water just zero-out having consumed a diet drink, tea or coffee.
  • Right now I'm studying for my nutrition degree and everything we've been learning points back to this-- "stick as close to nature as possible". Thats it. Everything, everything that isnt fresh is processed and most anything processed requires the removal of nutrients (to slow the food from going bad) OR has things such as…
  • Fiber and protein take your body the longest to digest, hence making you feel fuller longer. Processed foods (specifically enriched white bread that is found in your pizza and many many other snacks) is easily broken down, adds hardly any nourishment, and doesn't keep you satisfied. My advice is eat nuts (without oils) or…
  • I was on an 700-800 calorie diet a year ago ... and I TOTALLY understand the difficult adjustment. Just eating 100 extra calories made me feel HUGE ... but I had to tell myself that it was for my health. I developed Galbladder disease and had to have it removed after my "eating disorder" which only lasted 5 months (I cant…
