Some people are so wrapped up in everyone else's lives that they're losing out on their own, and some people are so wrapped up in their own life that they're totally apathetic about everyone else. More balance is needed.

You can't exactly keep your kids in a box their whole life. You can just do your best to teach them right from wrong. But if you really do believe that there is a right and a wrong, it's perfectly natural to be disappointed in the fact that the society you live in puts so much attention and praise toward the wrong things.

The word judgmental is thrown around way too much these days. There are both good and bad kinds of judgment. The bad kind is something like the Westbro Baptists who come up with the most disrespectful and intrusive ways possible to shove their opinions down everyone's throats. The good kind of judgment is evaluating the…

I tried taking my measurements once, but I couldn't get a consistent measurement for any one part. Anything that I measured varied by up to half an inch every time I tried.

I guess the "I'm going to stop working out because it makes me gain weight" thing was pretty much an emotional outburst. I'll keep it up and try to be even more strict with food, but it's going to be difficult if two more weeks go by and I'm still gaining weight.
-
My biggest frustration is that for a while I wasn't watching what I ate or exercising consistently, and I was pretty much maintaining my weight. Now that I've started doing those things, I've gained 2.5 pounds in just a couple of weeks.

Unfortunately I have to weigh myself every week because I just started participating in a weight loss competition, which is now going to be extremely embarrassing with all the weight I'm gaining. I do watch my sodium and I buy mostly organic food. You can pretty much ignore my food journal because I mostly use it as a…

This is happening to me too!

Thanks everyone! Maybe I'll log it as 10 minutes instead of 5 since you guys say it burns more calories than I thought.
-
That's an interesting thing to do when you're bored. You could have shared your game plan instead.

My wedding is May 12, 2012. That's about 35 weeks away. If I lost half a pound every week, I could lose 17.5 pounds. I don't think half a pound every week is very realistic for me, so I think 15 pounds is the max I can expect to lose by then. My current weight is about 153, so if I lost 15 pounds I would be 138. That's…

Those look like they'll be motivating. Thanks! :)

I really wish I knew how to cook a bunch of different things and had a lot of stuff in the kitchen to work with, but at the same time only having enough to make a few basic meals forces me to not overeat at home.

I would never have called someone Miss Piggy, even at that age. It's very important to teach children good manners from a young age.
-
I'll try to keep this in mind. I really am doing good with exercising most days of the week and eating well.
-
Thanks! I really hope that's what's going on.

I used to track my weight weekly and I always got really frustrated with how little progress I'd made. My boyfriend suggested that I start weighing daily so I could see what my daily fluctuations were like and get used to them. My weight has been going steadily down for almost a week now, so it was really frustrating to…

NSV = non-scale victory. I didn't know what it was at first either, so I googled it.

Eating the same thing every day is cheaper and easier for me.
-
Ok, I'll try upping my calorie intake a bit.

I haven't been updating the diary daily because I've eaten basically the same thing every day this week. (The only change would be an apple instead of an orange or something like that.) I went ahead and logged what I plan to eat today. (Most of that fruit is what goes into my smoothie.) As you can see, I'm only 57 calories…

Great job!

I did that and it came out to 1,592 calories to lose a pound a week. That's really close to the number I got by multiplying my weight by 10. So maybe I can have a couple hundred more calories a day than MFP allows me.

I keep seeing things that say eggs are actually good to eat every day, and you should eat the whole thing because the yolk has good stuff in it too. I use coconut oil to cook my eggs instead of butter. It's really healthy and gives the eggs a little bit of extra flavor. I usually don't like coconut, but I like using it for…

"Bump" is what you write when you want to "bump" a post back up to the top of the list when it's been pushed out of sight by more recent posts. If you Google "30 Day Shred" you'll find it easily. It's a workout video by Jillian Michaels.

I have one! http://geekyfit.blogspot.com

I don't have a gym membership, so I guess I should just keep increasing the amount of crunches and maybe find some other ab exercises to add.
-
Still need help with this. (Got pushed off the first page with no replies.)
-
Also, how many days a week can I do this routine? Is it ok to do it more than one day in a row?

I wish I could lose 7 pounds in 2 months. I'm working out more than I ever have in my life and I've gained 2 pounds! (Not muscle.)
