This post is wonderful! I shared it with many friends that are finally going to take the "plunge" and eat more! They all found it very helpful

Mine are the greatest but I did 2 months of the LiveFit workout from Jamie Eason on Bodybuilding.com Here is where I see the biggest difference: Here is the progression: I may not have pushed as hard as I could have since it was the first time lifting weights in 15 years but I plan on doing more lifting and making sure I…

Hello! I am Carrie. I started MFP in Jan 2011 and lost weight steadily until the summer. Then with vacations it staggered a bit. Then in the Fall I dropped my weight loss goal and increased my calories to keep losing. Then over the winter I decided to drop my weight loss goal to half a pound and eat more calories since I…

^^ I agree completely with this. I actually lost it in my legs first since I started running and then did lifting to start my upper body. Now I am working on clean eating to help out my midsection?!

I will talk my self down in milage... Like "almost to half", "3 miles left, - you can run three miles easy", "2 miles - two miles is a walk in the park", "1 mile - you can run 1 mile in your sleep" If I am on a hill that is tricky = "this hill is my B!T@H" I actually have been know to say it out loud too

Bump for the great recipies!!

It is recommended that you not eat less than your BMR because that is the amount of calories you need to just lay in bed all day. Clearly you got out of bed  You shower, get dressed, walk to the car, walk into work, do stuff at work, walk from the car, do stuff at home.... and somedays you exercise. So you are at a…

you do [ i m g ] before the link and [ / i m g ] after the link.... without the spaces  ETA: you may want to resize them so they fit, but keep the same link

I still have about 15 more pounds I want to lose, but I am happy to share my progress so far ETA I fixed the link to the pic. I am 5'3.5" for reference

I put mine back on in November and it helped me SOOOO much!! I finally got to see the full picture with it calculating 24 hrs. I know my BMR and I know what I am really burning each day. I have seen an improvement in my overall knowledge, motivation, and zest for reaching my goal. I HIGHLY recommend it!! Feel free to…

I routinely eat close to 2000 a day and lose pretty consitantly. I have my goal set at 1920 and am seeing between 1/2 a pound to 1 pound a week. I am in the last 15 - 20 pounds so I want that slow and steady drop. I recommend looking into the sodium you are eating. That was a big shocker to me! I have worked hard to get…

This is good stuff... I find it to be accurat in my situation. Do you happen to have a referrence for where you found it or is it personal knowledge?
-
If you are at your goal weight or happy with your current weight then congrats!!! If you want to still lose weight and think you are at a pleatue, you could try to break out of the pleatue. Eat more, change your exercise, or do both (IMO that is the way to do it)

bumping the new thread! I love checking this out everyday to see what new information is shared!

When I started running two years ago, my "run" was at 4.0 and then I built up to a 4.5 run. I was able to do that for 4 miles at once. That was all on my own with the treadmill. Then last summer I did the C25K and did the runs at 5.0... won't lie there were times with the long (20+ minutes) that I had to slow down at th…

How old are your shoes? They aren't built to last forever... I think (and could be wrong) that you should get new shoes ever 500-700 miles you run in them. So if you are using your shoes for everyday walking that will wear them out even faster. I normally get new shoes every 6 to 8 months depending on how much I run

OH MY!!!! I love that site!!!! Thanks so much for sharing!!! I will make time to look it over this evening so that I can start working on new lunch ideas.... and the containers they sell = AWESOME!!!

So if you are an only child do you go with the only born or the first born.... You are technically both!? I am a middle born child to a T there!? Thanks for sharing!!

So you don't know how accurate the TomTom GPS is compared to Garmin? That is one of my questions for the Nike + watch. My boyfriend made a funny comment about using a GPS watch made by a company that specializes in shoes and that I should get one by a company that specializes in GPS
-
josavage: Which Garmin do you have?
-
This exactly!

That is cool... and I see your point.... I wish that I could have one of these done on me!! ... but think about the junk in the trunk as something females always have  not really an excuse but a reality that should be considered.

That is great advice... I am going to be adding HIIT to my routine and started lifting "heavy" with the LiveFit program at the turn of the New Year. I am also taking my distance runs up a notch as I train for my half marathon. You have just given me the push I need to keep going at all of it!!!

I eat 1920 and am 5'3.5" who only exercises 3 or 4 times a week.... I seem to be losing just fine (other than when I eat horribly and it is TOM)
-
Jamie actually has a program on bodybuilding.com.... it is a 12 week trainer that she actually used. It is the LiveFit and breaks it down into three phases. I suggest you look it over and see what you think. I have completed the first two phases and really like it so far!!

Everyone is different but with that being said, if you just started trying to lose weight it is most likely water weight which does come off a lot quicker. Weight will also come off quicker in the beginning due to being overweight. That means when you move/exercise you have a heavier body weight to move/exercise which…

I have quite honestly not been following the calorie counting. I have my calories set at 1920 normally if not more. But my best guess would be that it is total calories when she references it, I would though eat back the additional exercise calories when you workout more.... Just my two cents on the questions

THAT is what it is all about.... the gain will go away/even out
