  • My bubs are nearly 14 mths old, and this is the 2nd time I have tried to shift the weight (which piled on between attempts!) I found that while I didn't really put an awful lot on while pregnant, being time poor in the aftermath was a big deal. And still can be with 2 toddlers. It's been too hot here to get out and walk as…
  • I regularly underestimate portion sizes, so a scale is great. The biggest shock to me was how much cooked lean roast beef is in a 150g serving. I was really hungry, logged dinner before I ate, needed to have a bit more protein and went 'hells yeah, gimme some of that!' Weighed it.... and crept off to rejig my logging. I've…
  • I remember watching your journey 100 years ago on another website (WW)... it's fantastic to see you have stuck with it - and through such hard times! Go you good thing :-D
  • I would find it incredibly odd to be questioned that closely by a new(?) friend. Some of the comments sound really spiteful, others just out of curiosity. Ok, yes, I know I put on weight because I wasn't paying attention to what I ate. After the first few I would actually just stop answering them, or simply tell them their…
  • I've got a way to go yet but am currently structuring in a 'cheat' meal on friday night. We haven't had takeout, we make it at home. Example: I make a pizza one week with lots of veg and not too much cheese or fatty meat - I use really nice spicy salami or something like that. Or my husband makes vegetarian nachos with…
  • THAT would have been awesome. We used all their Metallica stuff as 'mingling' background music for guests before our wedding. Most of them had no idea, but a few quiet smiles of recognition were worth it. :-)
  • Rollins Band in early 2000's Australia tour. Henry shook my hand for being the only girl in the front row. SOAD - 2003 I think, in Brisbane Australia Any time I see Mike Patton - Faith No More, Tomahawk or Fantomas
  • That would be awesome. Looks like we have a 50% chance of a weak dribble.
  • You suck. I waaaaant raiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnn
  • Maryborough, Queensland, Australia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maryborough,_Queensland Apparently Mary Poppinsis our fault...
  • Oh hooray I'm not alone! And pics to prove it thank you! :-D I am the same with all other veges, except anything really starchy (portion control around potato bake etc is a bit of an issue for me!) I guess the guilt is from trying to get a handle on portion control, something I have always struggled with. But I suppose as…
  • I got married a few years back, and just applaud your decision to not try and lose it all at the last minute like I have seen others do. As if planning a wedding isn't stressful enough, without adding the extra pressure of extreme weight loss. Good luck.
  • I log and get on MFP when my girls are napping, then after they go to bed. The mobile app is helpful if you can use it without being grabbed at by tiny hands! If I am able, I log in advance too - eg when I log breakfast, I try to plan and log lunch too. Doesn't always work out like that, but even if you just jot it down…
  • Hiya :-) Your motivation resonates with me, I have 2 toddler girls that I want to be able to keep up with, and set a good example for. And we seem to be the same age. I am in Australia, if you fancy having some Aussie connections. I've been lurking about here for a while and never get round to adding friends, but think I…
  • Really? Holy smokes that's confusing. It's as bad as shoe sizes...
  • Looking forward to shrinking mine. They aren't even whoppers, but when I am an ideal weight for me I am usually a US 36C (Aus 14C). In summer it's much easier to manage strappy singlets and dresses!
  • Oh. Duh. I'm in Australia, and without looking it up have no idea what a US or UK size that is! LOL I didn't even think about that..
  • I'm 5'10" and I am a comfortable 14 around 170 -175lb. Sometimes a 12 depending on the cut, as I am not particularly massive in the boobage department. I do have a fairly broad build, with big feet and long monkey arms. :-D
  • Once a week, always on friday morning first thing after a wee! :-) I couldn't cope with daily weighing at the moment (the fluctuations would get to me), and weekly seems right for me so I know I am on the right track. I am petrified of wasting time, as I need to be able to fit some of my warmer clothes when winter comes. I…
  • I use lentils to bulk out or replace beef mince in pasta sauce, cottage pies etc Vegetable curry with added lentils

  • Love me some metal, can't play a damn thing - except the first few bars of Metallica 'One' if I have the tabs in front of me... LOL This is the 1st year in many that I won't get to go to Soundwave Concert. :-( But I have seen most on my old school bucket list so am ok. :-) Mastodon? anyone?
  • My biggest clothes were getting almost too tight to wear, and I absolutely detest being photographed. My babies just turned 1, and there are very few pictures of me with them. I want to change that, and be happy to play at the park or beach with them once they are more mobile.
  • It's good to hear this from other previous WW users. I was only online, but didn't use the community all that much - I lurked and read a lot, but this forum seems to offer more? YES! Thank you, I forgot alllll about the spare points! The final puzzle piece has fallen into place now. :-D I am running the WW side-by-side…
  • My thanks to those who have replied. :-) I get that it's just a simplified method of counting calories - but I was wondering more about the fact that once I use up all my points, I still have daily calories left over. I think SuperCrsa may have hit the nail on the head about the 'free' veggies making up the difference.…
  • Healthy snacks and protein helped me. I was in my 2nd trimester with twins when the hungries hit, and OH BOY did i eat when I could. As the babies got bigger, I could eat less so I included raw nuts and boiled eggs. I had terrible reflux so drinking water just made it worse. Good luck. edit: FYI I got fat after the babies…
  • Peel and freeze, then throw them in the food processor with frozen mango and a splash of light coconut milk. Scoop into a container and refreeze. then Eat. I did that the other night as I had a surplus of bananas that ripened due to hot weather, and too many ripe mangoes. I imagine a squirt of white chocolate sauce through…
  • 2 slices of white toast wouldn't hold me over for more than an hour (and i get that it's the only bread you had to eat, so you ate it!) I have learned that protein is really great for me in the morning. Usually I get up, make a coffee (Giant flat white with 300ml skim milk & water & coffee pod) - then get my babes out of…
  • I lost about 30kg a few years ago, over about a 2 year period. The crusher for me was returning to full time work with a 2 1/2 hr daily commute. I put on about 10kg, then fell pregnant with twins. The babies turned 1 last month, and I am now as heavy as I was before I started losing weight the first time. Time management…
  • I use extra lean minced beef, grated zucchini & carrot, and sometimes brown lentils (canned) if I want to stretch it out a bit to have more sauce. I also find that jars of sauce are very sugary and not to my taste so I usually use canned tomatoes, onion, a little tomato paste, a splash of balsamic vinegar, garlic, herbs,…
  • I had a gallstone attack years ago when I started losing weight, and my word having those suckers made me lose more. Your Dr or dietician can give you more advice, but mine just said that I needed to eat as little fat as possible and stay away from alcohol (while I waited 3 mths for surgery). Gentle excercise if you feel…
