  • I have a job interview next week. I haven't worn 'office work attire' in 5.5 yrs (since I had my twins). Some of my old work clothing fits me again, and I went to a thrift store to buy a nice blouse to wear with my plain black business pants. I found 2 blouses for 3 dollars each, and a nice black blazer for 5 dollars. Also…
  • I did the same recently too. Juuuuuuust scraped in to overweight instead of obese and I'm thrilled. Great job.
  • My husband had a brief period on Risperidone. It made him gain weight, and he didn't have much of an appetite at all. Depends on the person, age, and dosage I guess.
  • Geez, I've even dumped my dog as a walking buddy - I'm that keen to be alone and not watching anyone else. I have twin toddlers, though, so I get a bit emotionally washed out through the day.
  • I'd like to be drunk. Really really drunk, at my friend's annual Halloween Party. We moved 300km away, though... so if i manage that I will be drunk AND satisfied.
  • Arrgh, just under 2lbs to go!!! I have lost 28.5lb since January 2014.
  • Just lurking for answers to the Overexcited Mummy Tummy dilemma...
  • You really really can't compare your pre-pregnancy body to your 37 week pregnant body. Different stresses, different strains, and you body is very busy doing a different job compared to just being 'your' body. Been there, done that, bought the tshirt and am still trying to lose the weight I gained - but I have not been…
  • Not glamorous, but I can see my C section scar when I stand infront of a mirror. I had full term twins, then ended up being 60lb overweight. My tummy is a mess, but it is becomming less so. It never occurred to me that seeing my scar would be a triumph.
  • Lurking... I have really thick straight coarse hair, but both my girls have curly hair. I have NO IDEA how to manage curls so I need to learn!
  • Oh definitely. I am excited to see if I've had a loss, and at the same time dread seeing if it will go up. But I know that if I don't weigh, I won't know where to start fixing what isn't working for me.
  • Total agreement here. I get annoyed when my husband sits with the girls at dinner (while I get a shower and run their bath)... he will point and growl, and spoon feed the one who is protesting. Apparently she will sullenly eat what he gives her, but I really don't like his approach and recently discussed it with him It…
  • No, children who are operating within the norm regarding development and abilities don't starve themselves willingly. I didn't say they would. No, they will not always eat what is presented, in whole. I know for my kids, if they are not hungry they will not eat it. Or will not eat some foods, regardless of how many times…
  • Yes! And nobody seems to remember what kind of stinking tantrum *they* might have thrown when they were given options they didn't like when they were little.
  • OP, I would try just cutting down or cutting out one thing at a time, then re-evaluating. Get DH onboard. My twins are 2 in December, and I am trying my *ss off to set up good habits - but some days they just don't want to eat what's on offer, and as a mother sometimes it is hard to see them not eating. Some days they eat…
  • I was with my fiance for 3 years when we broke up because it wasn't working. We still cared for each other, but it wasn't working. I had to insitute a no contact policy for a month, because when you talk to someone every day and they are your best friend it is VERY hard to separate your lives. We tried to stay friends, but…
  • I totally understand. Some things changed this year and I let them throw me off my path a bit. I'm just under halfway (have lost roughly 27lb so far), and it is draaaaagging - especially as I have gained a few lbs back in the last 2 months. I just try to keep at it, and look at old pics to remind me how far I have come,…
  • It's a noticeable difference, well done! Seeing changes really does help motivate me too.
  • I'm in Australia, and similar laws hae come into effect recently. We are legally allowed to cross a double unbroken line if it is safe to do so (duh!) to enforce the 1 metre clearance. I havent noticed any difference, but I live in a semi-rural area.
  • I took my twins to a playcentre today, and rolled around with them on the jumping castle (and fell over when I dismounted), crawled on the playmat with my butt in the air - and I didn't care who saw me doing what, and didn't constantly tug at my shirt to make sure I was completely and utterly covered.
  • Fairly early on I met his Father, stepmother and grandmother. We were on our way back from a day out at the beach, and his Father's house was 'on the way' to take me back to my place. He just decided to drop in. I nearly died of fright. I was 16 at the time, he was 22. I was already a bit self concious about our age…
  • I survived another week of C25K, and now can run for 5mins without dying.
  • Yeah, I wish there was a 'like' button for this post too. :-D Good on you. I was never a WoW head because I knew it would be like crack to me... I kept away, knowing it would not end well. LOL Every small change adds up.
  • I used to let things like that bother me, but by letting their comment affect me, I am assigning power over my life to them. If someone is such a d-bag, would you let them decide your life's path? Plus, one of the previous posters is right. Dog Beast is loving every moment of walking with you, and loving you so much for…
  • Yeah, I'm usually behind the camera anyway (Husband says can't operate my DSLR).. It's the candid snaps he takes with his phone when I am doing things with the girls that gross me out. But hey, I know that in 5 months when they turn 2, I won't be hiding. I want pictures of my beautiful babies with their mother.
  • Totally awesome way to look at it. I have lost 26 lbs (12kg) since December, and while I am now seeing a difference I am only half way to where I want to be. I had a good month of small gains and small losses which cancelled each other out, and some weeks have been a real struggle. But I KNOW if I keep going it is…
  • I fit into a pair of long pants I haven't fit since before I had the twins. Sure, they're a bit snug around the waist and might end up as a People of Walmart meme... but they do up. With a long top I could probably wear them out of the house if I had to.
  • Yes! I gained a smiliar amount and my girls (fraternal) are now 19 months old. It takes a while to get into a normal rhythm and to be careful not to take on too much. Seems there are a lot of twin mums out there with good advice. :-) I have lost 24 lbs (11kg) since January... some weeks are better than others. Teething…
  • I had it years ago, and never had pain on the top of my foot. The Dr I saw was useless and said to just learn to manage the pain (WTF?).. A friend told me to try a Physiotherapist, which I did. I only saw them twice, as they gave me a lot of different exercises to do, mainly strengthening my arches and stretching my…
  • I did it outside a few years ago, then it rained for 3 months nonstop so we got a treadmill and i did it on the treadmill. (Or the Dreadmill, as it is commonly named). I just restarted it outside, again. I get REALLY red faced and had never run before, so it was a bit embarrassing. I understand your hesitation with being…
