If you want protein to make you fuller, get it from food.

I have looked at 5K but don't know more about it than a casual glance. But I do know that with most running programs the advice is to run as slow as you can initially. Speed (and therefore distance) will come with time, just concentrate on running for as long as it tells you to, and as your fitness and stamina improve…

Not a good time to get an S2, when the S3 will be out imminently. The S2 price will drop when the S3 comes out.

And heres another link which is similar, but this one assigns a winner based on the ranking factors it considers (spoiler: the Galaxy Y wisn) http://geekaphone.com/compare/Samsung-Galaxy-Y-vs-HTC-Wildfire

Here we go, this link should tell you everything you need to know in nice bite-size chunks :) http://www.compare-cellphones.org/Samsung-Galaxy-Y-vs-HTC-Wildfire

Weird, I thought the Galaxy Y wasnt released here yet...
-
We don't have the Galaxy Y over here in the UK but I know that it's Samsung's entry level product in the Galaxy series, which would in theory make it pretty comparable to the Wildfire in terms of specs. Samsung's TouchWiz is better than HTC's Sense UiI, so generally speaking I would go with the samsung. They will both be…

Buy the cheap one. Theyre all just protein anyway.

You will plateau and you will do it soon. At this kind of deficit your metabolism will just about stop completely. It's not maintainable and all that will happen is that you will regain the weight, because if it's not maintainable then it will turn into yo-yo dieting. Also, depending on what exercise you're doing, at that…

Some brands taste different to others. Just try a different brand. And the chewable ones are good too but they're more expensive.

I find that after I pile on about 250g of sugar, as required to make Weetabix taste like real food, then I'm so hyper I forget about being hungry.

I think I saw the thread you're talking about. Yes there is truth in saying that long distance running is not the best thing for fat loss. In more extreme cases it can even cause weight gain due to losing muscle mass so much that your metabolism slows down and your TDEE becomes lower than your caloric intake. I can't…

You dont need a workout video, you just need a bodyweight routine. IMO all good workout regimes should include a bodyweight session anyway. Try a workout of pushups, planks, side planks, crunches, pull ups (if you can find somethign sturdy to pull up on), squats, dips, etc.

Also, when in doubt use the MFP estimate and subtract 25%.

I wonder the same, especially given that the machine you're using knows what exercise you're doing, at what intensity, and for how long, but a HRM only knows how fast your heart is beating. The more I read these forums the more I think that people put far too much faith in the mystical powers of a heart rate monitor.…

In that case mine are definitely too small, as I could go up a size and they would still be plenty tight enough to stay in place. I'll return them tomorrow and exchange for the XL. Cheers!

A few days ago my boss came into my office and saw my freshly used shaker on my desk. He proceeded to tell me his horror story about a mate of a mate of a mate, who's cousin's brother's stepdad in law once knew a guy who worked for him. Supposedly this guy was having protein shakes and it gave him terrible mood swings…

Sorry I don't know what came over me then. I'm from sunny Mansfield, feel free to add if you like :)

THANKING PLEASE I AM FROM THE NORWAY! NICE TO BE MEET YOU!

Whatever you do, try to avoid H2O as it's a chemical. It has a chemical formula and everything.

Using "real" food is good for you no matter what it is? What a joke. Come on guys don't be stupid. I'll just go eat all the fat that dripped off my sausages on the grill, because that's "real" food that came straight out of an animal and isn't processed! What a great idea!

^^ This Sometimes its easy to get obsessed with more and more gadgety goodness, when all you need to do is just get out of the house and start running. RPE is an easy way to judge exercise without messing about with an HRM.

Having a big stride isnt as much of an advantage as you shorties might think. Us tall people are usually carrying a hell of a lot more weight too. At 6' 3", even at my goal weight i'd still be carrying 210lbs with every step. That gets very tiring very quickly. I think shorties make for much better distance runners, as…

Yep, like everyoen else has said start by doign counter pushups. If even these are too hard, try wall pushups until you can do them easily, then go on to counter pushups. The only thing I wanted to add is that if you do these onto your staircase, while standing at the bottom, it will enabled you to adjust the angle more…

Thanks everyone, and thats for the well-wishes with the ride too. The sports direct website was a good tip, I've just had a look and they've got loads of MuddyFox stuff really cheap so I think I will treat myself to some shorts and a couple of t shirts. The bike ride isn't until the end of april so I've got plenty of time.…

Honestly, I'm sure you appreciate the kind words of motivation from all the people telling you that you're propbably gaining muscle, or that its all just water retention, but unfortunately their words of consolation are well intentioned but misplaced. Just as mallory3411 said a couple of posts up, having looked at your…

Also, as other people have said, yes it's possible to have some muscle gain, but this happens much slower than people might like to believe. Muscle gain is far too readily used as an excuse for not losing weight. Even for beginners (beginners gain muscle faster at first) you wont gain more than perhaps 2-3lbs a month…

Number one reason people fail to lose weight: because they aren't eating enough. if you're eating 1200 a day, and burning off 700, then thaty's equivalent to only eating 500 calories a day (1200 - 700). This is not enough! You should never, ever go below 1200 calories a day NET (that means after subtracting exercise…

Lots of crunches will make your abs get bigger

Yep I'm 6'3'' too, and my target is 210lbs. At this weight I'd be around 10% bodyfat (if I maintained my current LBM, which is easier said than done) so I'd have the first signs of a six pack showing through. 175lbs would make me look like a rake. Weird that we seem to be the only people in this entire thread over 6feet....
