More than half trainers at my gym are out of shape, but it's unfair to say they lack knowledge in their field because of it. With that said, personally, I think you should look the part before giving such advice if you want people to take you serious. Just listen to what he/she has to say, try it out, if it doesn't work…

Nah, you're good. I can't stand people that don't unrack the weight. I had a guy at my gym who was shrugging 4 plates at the squat rack and he never unracked the weights. So, yea, I unracked a total of 8 45plates before my set of squats...it's freakin annoying.
