Yes, Give it more time. A week for 6-7 lbs is unheard of anyway. Most must be water. But yes, like another posted - i too have the plateaus. Like other posters on here, cycling along with very sensible (watching everything) eating has enabled me to lose almost 30 lbs in 5 months. I have not been this low in weight in about 40 years! Yes - cycling works!

Competed in a 5K and 10K Cycling Time Trial today in Gainesville and Won! Oct. 11th - 25 miles Cumulative miles for October 164.2 235.8 Miles to go. (but then i celebrated and had my first McDonalds Oreo McFlurry in 5 months!) Back to the program...............

You most likely need to see a Podiatrist or Orthopedic Doc for possible orthotics. I too have flat feet - have all my life and have had multiple problems from them. elyelyse said it all! Can't over- emphasize logging though. It lets you know where you are. Afterall - if you are using this site - use it - its super - it works. We are here to lose - so you just can't go nuts if getting in better shape is what you want out of this.

Yes, I think MFP does overestimate exercise calories. At least the ones i do which are cycling, tennis and gardening. I have a pretty good idea how much those activities burn so i do estimate and usually put down fewer minutes. I don't plan to eat them all back anyway and usually go for 40-60% of them. For the past month i was cycling 130-195 miles each week. But i am scaling that back to around 100 mi a week. I love tennis and i have been out of it for 11 months because of an ankle injury.
