Make today your first day for the new you. You were lucky! You used to be a size 2? What in the world is that like? 10-12 - is not bad, but its never where i wanted to be - like all my life! I am now 67 and don't really know what got me going, but 4 months ago i found out about MFP and started. My first goal from 159 was…

I average between 800 and 1200 burned a day. I do spend a lot of time and effort to do that. I am cycling 6-7 days a weeks for 1 3/4- to 2 hours. Since i have a fast bike i use the calculation in MFP - as one effort lower. If i bike at an average of 15.5mph i count it as 12-14. That way i think it is fairly accurate if i…

I still have a ways to go. I put my goal at 30 lbs to lose, but now that i am getting closer, i will lower that goal. I have lost about 22lbs,, and although that is far off from what you have lost ~ My strange thing is - when i get on the scale - i still can't believe it! I am so afraid i will see that old original weight…

Are you doing this for September? If so, i would like to join. Cycling is my exercise! But just found this thread. How do i add cycling ticker? Thanks

Well, I am a little older. 67 - but active - very active. I have never really been extremely overweight either, but could always stand to lose 10-20 lbs. - But always felt - well i am not that heavy! But - really always wanted to be thinner and look better. I have been active all my adult life. Tennis and cycling. Was in…

We have been using ISS Research Whey Power Protein - Vaniila flavored for years. I only find it online. Unfortunately - it will be the taste that determines what you like - but i don't know of anyplace to get samples of different ones! Just have to experiment. But it definitely adds to the taste of a fruit smoothie. Like…

Is the gym close by, or is it on the way - to or from work? In my experience - it has to be very convenient for me to use. If it is, I will, if not - it gets missed over and over - and there you go paying that monthly fee.

I guess i need to go clothes shopping to see what size i wear now. After seeing posts of 5'5" - 5'4" women (where i am) - i find that my size 10 shorts and large tops at 141 lbs are way too big! How do they fit into a size 6 ? And Small tops? I have lost 18-19 lbs (and still going!) but not in my wildest dreams am i yet a…

I feel good when i see it because its almost always lower than where i figure i will be. I finally started writing it down to keep track of about a week ago - so in 4 weeks i will see. Of course everyday is different since i exercise more or less each day. Its fun to see though when i have exercised for 3 + hours that day!

Part of my exercise on here is also gardening. I am in Florida, so its very hot mid day - so that must count too! But i am pulling weeds, cutting hedges and doing more yard work than i ever have. All because of MFP. I decided that it would be part of my exercise routine. Hey - our yard looks a lot better too! There is…

Like all above - you didn't! You must have needed a break and thats ok. You realize you want to get back on track, otherwise, you wouldn't be posting here. So, put it behind you ~ start your logging ~ and you are there. Great going on what you have achieived so far. Keep going - you can.

Not sure if it is the same as mine or not. I injured my posterior tibial tendon last October. This is the tendon that goes under the ankle bone. It then goes under the foot where it attaches. On the other end - it goes up the leg. Mine never had a sharp one time pain ~ just started hurting one day and kept getting worse. I…

Have you lost those 25 lbs since June? If so, your body is probably starving. What is your calorie intake each day?

I don't walk, but cycle a lot. What conversion can we make ? cycle miles to steps? Because i feel great after i have put in 20 plus miles!
-
I'm sorry. These are pictures of two different people. If it really is the same person - WOW - fantastic job!

I think so! No magic - calories in, calories out. I have only been here a little over three months, but have read a lot of the posts and most agree - thats what its all about. I cycle and am out there thinking - "I can have a Zone bar when i get back!" More miles - more treats! Keep walking!
-
First, sorry for your losses. Second - you can do this! Yes, get a food scale. We did and i was amazed when i would first weigh things. I don't weigh everything, but i do weigh any meat i have. A couple of days ago i weighed some roasted potatoes. Thought by now that i would know about what it weighed. I was way off!…

Last October (2012) I tore my posterior tibial tendon in my left foot. (tendon that goes under the ankle bone and attaches under the foot. It supports the arch. I did it playing too much tennis i guess. All i want to do is play tennis although i enjoy biking. I am trying to get back to it - but its not completely healed.…

I am 5' 4 3/4"- and started at 159 - 3 months ago. Currently 143 - looking to 130 - but may set lower goals when i get there.

Just about everyday. BUt - I exercise like crazy, and i never eat back all my calories ~ probably only 1/3 to 1/2. So its ok.
-
HI, yes - i agree with Fareina. Get a bike fit. I am a cyclist and did that many years ago - well worth it if they charge a bit for it. I cycle almost everyday and with a good fit i find cycling helps my knees as it builds your quads. Great calorie burner, although i use MFP's chart and go one level below theirs for…

We have just started making smoothies and i love them! But we have been buying ISS Research Whey Power Protein - Vanilla- for many many years. Just the right taste for me. It comes in 2.2lb containers and i always get it online. You should be able to find it for about $30. The smoothie we did last night was very simple.…

You smiled "before", but now you glow! Super going!

Well, you said you don't want to change your diet plan. But, I can see why you go so overboard on the cheat days. 600-800 calories a day would drive me bonkers! I would be so hungry, that yes, on my cheat day - i would go crazy too. I would be irritable too - does that happen? Its really too low to maintain that level, so…

Hi ! I am 67 and this is my first post. Wondered if there were any others here as old as me! I started on MFP May 7, 2013. Three months and i have lost 15 lbs. I am pleased with that and am going to keep going. I have been diligent in logging in and recording my food and exercise everyday. 94 days now! I have never…

Super, fantastic. Good for you. And look how good you look! Stay with it and never find that 80 again! I am 67 and would love to lose 30 lbs. Just started 3 days ago and am committed. I want to be skinny for the first time in my life. I have never been Fat - but could always stand to lose 10-15. You have to be ready to get…
