Aw, you are going to do great. I suggest you take a page from the AA handbook and not concentrate on the long haul. You don't have to conquer the whole entire future, you just need to wake up every morning and promise yourself that you will be and act mostly healthy for one day. Then the next day, you can make the same…

I can definitely see the weight loss but you are also really starting to to show that healthy, happy glow too. Like you are just bursting with energy now. Keep up the good work :)

Whenever I feel that way I eat a good snack - an apple, 1/2 a chicken breast, a protein bar, or a bag of almond snacks, etc. Then if I still feel hungry I just keep chanting in my head that I'm really not hungry, it is something else likely mental - anxiety, boredom, nerves or whatever and I need to wait until the next…

I usually avoid all the 1200 Calorie/Low Calorie/Eat More/Starvation Mode debates but .... The 1200 Calorie originally gained it's foothold because a bunch of "experts" came to a consensus opinion that 1200 calories was the minimum needed in a daily eating plan to provide the basic levels of all the macro/micro nutrients.…

Going over in sugar from Fruity Pebbles = bad Going over in sugar from a strawberry and banana smoothie = uh, I personally wouldn't sweat it.

I'm never hungry in the morning and I force myself to eat breakfast. If I don't, I'm too hungry at lunch and tempted to overeat then. I never force myself to eat at the end of the day.

Usually oatmeal, blueberries and skim milk but I do often reach for the box of Cheerios too.

I was down but then I gained 3lbs overnight Wednesday. Since I'm pretty sure I wasn't awake Wednesday night having a midnight binge eating session -- I'm just trying to be patient waiting for that 3lbs of water weight to work it's way out of my body.

I've found that most Mexican places that have a series of items where you choose chicken or beef will allow you to substitute extra fajita vegetables in for the meat.

Well, in my case I think the people who charge that I'm self-conscious and don't want people to know what I'm putting in my mouth are probably at least partially correct. I do have food issues. It's a good contributor to how I got into this condition to begin with. I'm working on them and if and when I'm ready to share…

That. If I want help and opinions I'll ask for them but I don't need random helpful advice or lectures showing up in my inbox.

So how about 2 or 3 nights out of the week you offer to buy the food and cook what you feel are acceptable meals for your Mom? Then a couple of more nights you be out of the house at dinner time and make do with "clean food" that you stop at the grocery store and buy and consume. One night a week let your Mommy cook for…

My best suggestion is to find a seamstress now who can creatively insert some discrete elastic in the needed areas. I mean, you can try the wrap and the "sweating it out" kind of stuff wrestlers do to make weight but it isn't going to guarantee that you will lose the weight in the areas where the dress is tight.

Well if there is ever a time to be selfish it is probably in regards to your own death. In my experience your Father is still at a point where he is dealing with all the weight of his own emotions and he just isn't ready yet for an onslaught of everybody else's grieving process. In cases like this death is not an event, it…

I vote that fat is determined by your body fat percentage and not a pants size.

Well, as everybody has said (more than once) that is a pretty intense goal. The only people I know of who have pulled it off those types of numbers have gone on to win the Biggest Loser. Well, actually I think that guy from the Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead documentary did it too .... but the continuous sight of those spinach…

It really depends on your frame. I'm 5' 9" and the lowest weight I've been as an adult is around 145lbs. I was still a size 10 in pants because I have hips that were made for birthing. There is just no way to exercise your skeleton into being smaller.

Me too! I'm 45 years old and just starting my 3rd week of exercise.

My Aria scale posts automatically to my online records.

I'd be happy to be your friend -- I'm just starting out too. 5' 9" and around 226. Right now my goal is just to get under 200lbs. It is too overwhelming for me to think of the big long-term numbers.
