  • It's been pretty accurate for me so far. I eat my exercise calories back. The only way you'll know if it's the same for you is to try it for a few weeks - see if you get the results you want - and if not adjust it from there.
  • I'd be celebrating if my belt went down a notch in a week! You did a good job - congratulations :)
  • If you like swimming - do the swimming. In the end weightloss is mostly down to diet. Exercise - in any form - improves your health - so I'm a huge fan of doing whatever exercise you enjoy. That way you are more likely to keep doing it.
  • I'm glad I gave myself the extra day - I got up this morning and managed to sit on my desk chair rather than throw myself on it. So I decided today was the day I would go back into the free weights section. My muscles still hurt - but not unbearably so. Fingers crossed tomorrow will be a less painful day than the day after…
  • Ps. Congratulations on your terrific weightloss so far!
  • I've already had this - and I'm still 50lb over the high end of my healthy BMI weight!! I just smiled - told them I had a "pound or two" more to lose and carried on as before! I plan on repeating this comment as often as necessary til I get to where I want to be. It's my body - I've got a healthy target in mind. As long as…
  • I eat mine. The thought of the extra food helps gets me up and moving! I know I would lose weight more quickly if I are back less of them - but I'm losing and I get to eat a decent amount if food - both of which make me happy!
  • I let my fitbit calculate all my step based activity - I never log it separately. That it's job! I do manually add my swimming (because I take it off), pilates and now my lifting - it doesn't know what to make of them
  • Thanks for the foam roller tips - I popped out and got one at lunchtime. I'm going to go for a walk in a minute and will try it out on my muscles when I get back. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day and I can get back into the few weights section :)
  • I definitely tried too hard this time! But it wasn't my regular training plan - I had a session with a trainer to make sure I was doing things properly - I did a lot of squats before he was happy with my form - and more than my regular training plan will contain!!
  • This seemed sensible - I just tried this - managed to lower myself very slowly - could not get back up! Had to use the wall to drag myself up again - perhaps I'm not quite there yet!! lol
  • Sorry - it's not what you want to hear - but you need to listen to the doctor. Give your body a chance to recover - then pick up the training again as soon as you have the all clear!
  • I like fuller for longer too - always tasty - and seems to be nicely balanced :)
  • So I left work - I headed to the gym - and lived through an hour of lifting. I managed to convince the trainer that was strength training I wanted - although he did try to talk me out of it. I stuck my ground - and he did what I asked without any fuss (whoop!). Turns out Stronglifts isn't for me right now - I can't squat!!…
  • The exercises are good. But there are better options Not tried the nutritoal program's - but if what you want is to lose weight a calorie deficit is what matters.
  • I wanted to ask the men in there in the week - but I felt so out of my depth I didn't know what to ask! So I decided to go with a session or two first - after that I'm brave / silly enough to go for it on my own or asking a few dumb questions when using the right words!! When I learned to dire a friend taught me how to…
  • I've told him I've been looking at Stronglifts and want to do that. He's already tried to talk me into other (more feminine, pink and glittery) programs. I've made it clear I don't want that! He has said he can help me with Stronglifts (I would have looked elsewhere otherwise). If he doesn't do that it'll be one session…
  • Ok. I'll admit it. I wimped out. I got to the gym, I looked at the men (only them in there) in the free weights section. They were all huge, muscles all over the place!! I told myself they all started somewhere, so I tried to ignore them - and looked at the weights. Realised that I had no idea what the hell I was looking…
  • That's great - thanks everyone. I've been doing ok so far - I didn't want to mess up my progress by getting it wrong now! Will have a look at the 5x5 ice cream one - I've been looking at Stronglifts and New Rules of Lifting for Women, and was thinking of going for Stronglifts initially - but it's nice to have more options…
  • Find something you enjoy and are going to want to do often - do that. For me that means swimming and dancing. But remember weightloss / fatloss is the result of diet - you'll only do it at a calorie deficit. Exercise helps increase a deficit / means you can eat a little more and still lose fat, but it isn't likely to be…
  • Good choice - I love mine. It definitely helps to keep more active most days. I still have my lazier days - but as it tells me how much I have burned that day I know how much less I can eat than usual (I've found the calories burned bit is pretty accurate for me). Hope you enjoy owning one as much of the rest of us do!

  • Thanks everyone - so far I've managed to stay away from the freezer by losing myself in a few posts on here. But there are still several hours left in the day - I'm sure that more than one of your suggestions will be helpful in keeping it that way!
  • Congratulations on the weight loss so far. You're doing great!! To have have put 8kg of fat whilst on a 5 day holiday you'd have had to eaten a hell of a lot of pasta and an ice cream the size of Rome! So something else is going on - probably water. Believe me I feel your pain, I'm starting to realise how much water my…
  • Have signed up too. I'm just Cazmo on there if anyone wants to add me.
  • Been dithering about starting this again for a couple of weeks now. You've made my mind up - I'm in!
  • I've dipped in and out of weight watchers a few times over the years. It works for me initially - the few 2 weeks can show pretty impressive weight losses. Then I stop / slow down on the water losses and my weight stalls. I quite liked the points aspect initally, its smaller numbers to count than calories, and it sounds…
  • Hi Matt I have the same amount as you left to lose (I've been here a few weeks now and am already 9 pounds down :)) Just popping in to say hi and good luck with it all too!! C
  • It makes me much more aware of how to balance my eating and how hard I have to work if I want more food!! I ate a huge lunch today - I was hungry and couldn't stop!! But I logged it. I now know if I want to eat anything more than a letttuce leaf tonight then I better make sure I hit the gym on my way home from work. Before…
  • I've just started too. I finished my second fast this morning. For those that have been doing this a bit longer - does it get easier not to overdo it on the non-fasting days - particularly the first meal after a fast?
  • I've just started too - only day 2 for me. I'm pretty achy at the moment - and have yet to do today's workout - but I'm weirdly loooking forward to putting myself through it again. I'm thinking of doing it pretty late on tonight - only because it left me feeling good for nothing else when I did it last night (on getting…
