Omg, these GIFs are cracking me up. And I'm bumping so I can finish reading this thread later. By the way - yes I do pee if I have to go...normally go before I take a shower but when you gotta go, you gotta go. Would never do it in a public shower. And my husband has pee'd in the shower...while I was in it with him.…

I just looked back at my journal. On the 23rd it will have been 1 month since any FF. I have gone out to restaurants - but not often. Wow...didn't even realize that!

I have a pair of jeans I used to wear years ago. They've been hanging like a work of art on the wall of my bedroom, collecting dust. But I refuse to take them down or give them away. I WILL fit into them again. Plus they're from Express - not cheap by any means lol

I own a BodyMedia Fit LINK and love it. It's accurate and I track my burn all day through the smartphone app I downloaded. Cool stuff.
-
I use it as a chair. Bought one on Monday and sit on it for 20 minutes at a time. Activates your core muscles and helps with posture. Works great.
-
Count me in. I always check in, log every day and support as much as I can!
-
I do. But only to keep my protein percentage in order.
-
Yep. Mine is working fine.

It will definitely be different for everyone. I am in your boat - weigh 192 and want to lose 50 pounds. I am giving myself a year. Someone who weighed 250 and lost 50 pounds is WAY different than a 190 lb person wanting to lose the same. It will definitely take longer. But it all depends on what you do to get there.

Thanks for that website! Super cool.

Just wanted to cast a vote for BodyMedia. I have the LINK and while it is on the biggish side, I don't mind one bit. People come up to me all the time to ask me what it is and I proudly tell them. I even wear it with my dress - no shame here. And I love, love, love the mobile app - so awesome. It is very accurate and it…

Now we're flaming each other over WHERE we exercise? Wow...
-
This is correct. When I read your net calories my eyes got a little bigger. Eat more!

Take a look at this thread: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1021952-how-many-calories-did-i-really-burn Some good answers.

Totally agree. The very first time I used that section was with a personal trainer. And I was confused like, "wait - women can come here?" lol So embarrassed to have even thought that way.
-
I have an HRM but prefer my Bodymedia arm band. And it's really cool to see the "after burn" you get after weight lifting. During a session, I only burn about 200 calories...but the after burn is what's really cool :)
-
I would have taken offense to that. My gym has a women's area but I choose to go workout with the big boys because they offer a better selection of weights and benches. Screw that lady!
-
Will that always be the case? I'd like to be able to do stuff at home after a workout - say clean and do laundry and mundane stuff like that.
-
I do this as well. And when I compare my Bodymedia with the machine - it's even lower than that! I think we burn fewer calories than we think we do. Although it's not unheard of to burn in excess of 600 calories in one session, it will take an extraordinary amount of energy expenditure to achieve that.

I've been working out consistently for about 5 weeks. Before that, I worked out every now and then. Not a beginner by any means. Maybe my body is still adjusting to the new routine I'm doing?
-
Hmm. Well I eat 1600-1800 calories per day depending on how much I burn - targeting the 40-30-30 approach. I'm doing a 750 cal deficit per day (1.5 lbs a week). Thought that was appropriate - but maybe not?

I love the elliptical. It's so much easier on the knees that a treadmill. The first time I got on one - ever - was when I was in college. Couldn't even do 2 minutes of it! Even though I weighed a lot less than I do now, I was so unfit. Now I can do up to 60 minutes with no problem. But recently I've been using it just to…

I'm so getting a fitness ball. I already told the gals here and they're so down to do that as well. An easy fix!
-
Haha - nice one!
-
That's awesome! I also workout after work. I was just wondering what I could do whilst at the office. I wonder if we're allotted 15 minute breaks - though I'm sure they wouldn't care if I did - and take a walk around the building. Great tips - thank you!

Word.

I was told that I should do more cardio than weight lifting if I wanted to see any results. Which I was inclined to believe at first. But all the resources I've read seem to say otherwise. This woman was a body builder at one point (I've seen photos - she's legit).
-
Cool beans! I'm in - will involve my work buddies too!
-
Lol! Well I've never really noticed. I'll check it out tonight and let you know :P
