If you don't have time for any exercise to earn some extra calories, there are still some good options. 1. Breakfast for dinner: an egg is only 70 calories, add a serving of oats for 150, and you'll still have enough to add either a teaspoon of brown sugar, half a cup of berries, or half a banana to your oats. 2. A 4 oz…

It definitely feels weird, and can sting a bit if you get it too salty or not salty enough, but they are quite worthwhile. I have allergies, and using the neti pot helps relieve some of the sinus pain and pressure. In addition to flushing out anything that shouldn't be there, they help to keep your nasal passages…

I have one friend who had had great success with her Lap Band procedure. However, she was in a much different situation than you. She's has to be extremely careful with what and how much she eats. Like someone else here mentioned, 4 oz at at time is about it. That's about half a cup of many foods. And she really has to…

I've found that I need some fat and protein to stay full longer. Fruit and veggies have fiber and fill me up for a bit, but those carbs burn off quick. Something like a string cheese, a boiled egg, or a tablespoon of peanut butter work much better for me even though they have a smaller volume. Each of those three options…

The only thing that bothers me about the first one is how thin/transparent the fabric appears. Where you can see the one layer (between her legs) you can see right through it... The style is a bit revealing, but totally appropriate for NYE in Vegas. If you go for this one, may want to invest in some "nude" undergarments so…

Fantastic NSV! And congrats on your progress so far; you're doing an amazing job.

I've definitely had this issue too. So many co-workers and friends have asked if I'm at my goal yet... I still have 18 pounds to go. And I'm only aiming for 5 pounds below the heaviest weight the BMI tables list in my healthy range. I can definitely still see room for improvement, but the changes are happening much slower…

I generally switch things up on different days, and so seldom use the same cardio equipment more than twice a week. On Mondays and Wednesdays I work with a trainer which is either weights or some type of plyometrics or circuit training. Tuesdays I usually do the elliptical, Thursdays the treadmill. Then on Fridays I'll…

Sounds like you have an awesome husband. And congrats on the weight loss so far. You're doing a great job.

The default settings on MFP are pretty much for the lowest recommended protein amounts. Many people, myself included, change it up to between 25 and 40 percent of their daily calories. Unless you have health issues related to your kidneys, there is no problem at all with eating more protein.

If you decide you do want to go to a gym, maybe find someone who will go with you? At least for the first couple of times. Maybe also look into joining a gym that is specifically designed to be less intimidating, like Curves or Planet Fitness?

Fantastic NSV! Congratulations :flowerforyou:

Hair typically grows about half an inch a month. Be sure you are getting enough protein. Your body does not view your hair and nails as being as essential as your muscles. So they will be one of the first places to notice if you aren't getting enough. Other than that, just take good care of your hair and do as little…

Have to agree, best to just bite the bullet. Get it over with, and you'll definitely feel better, and hopefully she will too. If you leave things unsaid, you'll both be suffering. Hopefully she knows you well enough to know that you'd never intentionally hurt her feelings this way.

It was our Thanksgiving potluck luncheon today... not much work getting done; everyone's in a food coma. But the phones aren't ringing and the e-mail has been just a trickle all day.

I'm a classic Libra; I want to know all the pros and cons and contemplate every angle before making a decision.

That is good news. I know my insurance changed to cover some preventive care already this year. My annual exam was free instead of my usual $30 co-pay.

Congratulations! Your healthier lifestyle is really having a huge impact. That's such awesome news!

It depends on how you have your account set. Since I have a desk job and enjoy many sedentary activities at home, I have my profile set for sedentary. That does not account for anything I'd consider housework. (I'm not talking about something like a couple minutes spend loading the dishwasher, but something like sweeping…

I haven't done any fad diets myself, but know plenty of women who have. One of the girls I work with tired a very low carb diet, then she tried the powder that you have to sprinkle on all your food, then some expensive local meal plan where they supply all your food. She'd lose 20 to 30 pounds each time, but quickly give…

Levi's has out a new(ish) line called Curve ID. They have 3 different fits for each size. I went in and got measured. The Bold Curve fit me great; thighs aren't baggy, and the waist doesn't gap.

I stopped once for about 3 months when I was between jobs and didn't have insurance. It was not good. But things did go back to my "normal" fairly quickly. It's just that my "normal" is pretty awful. It did take trying about 5 or 6 different pills for about 3 months each to find one that worked okay. (Yeah, that was not a…

After much experimentation I find that I absolutely must have some of each macro at breakfast. And if I have a bit more fat (around 10g) I stay full longer. For example, I'll have some scrambled egg whites with cheddar cheese and a slice of toast or piece of fruit. When I tried protein heavy with low carbs, I was starving…

I'm currently trying this to see if it helps. I've been maintaining (fluctuating 1 to 2 pounds in either direction) for the past two months. I still have 20 pounds to reach my goal (which is toward the high end of my healthy BMI), so thought I still had plenty of time to maintain a fairly large deficit. A couple of weeks a…

I'm 5'5" also. My goal is 145. I have broad shoulders and hips, so don't expect to go much below that at all. I'm currently at 165 and wearing some 14s and some 12s. I'd like to end up in a size 10 I think. And I currently think I'd like my BF% to be around 18. Not sure where it is now, but I'm planning to get tested when…

Whole wheat French bread is definitely available where I live. So it's worth checking for in your area. Tonight I'm on my own for dinner. So I'm planning to bake the steelhead trout fillet that I picked up yesterday. I'll probably keep it simple with some shallots, herbs, and a spritz of olive oil. And I have some Yukon…

Congratulations! You've done an amazing job in transforming yourself. You are (and always have been) gorgeous, but you look so confident in your current picture. That dress is stunning on you.

Gradually cutting back worked best for me. Trying to cut it too drastically at first made me feel so bad I just couldn't function. Seriously, it was like having withdrawal; massive headaches, nausea, shakes, no energy. So I just made small changes. I started using one less teaspoon of sugar in my coffee. Then after a month…

What keeps me going is how much better I feel now. Regular exercise and a serious reduction in the amount of sugary crap eaten make a huge difference in my mood day to day and help keep the depression at bay.
