Because that's MFP's default. I sweet mine manually. 1200 would have my eating my own arm off. I'm sedentary (desk job), 28, and have a lot of weight to lose as well. I have it set at just above 1600.

Depends. Today I had 3 meals, may have a small evening snack later. Yesterday I grazed. Some days I have my coffee in the am, then only eat lunch and dinner. It really depends on the day and which direction the end blows. Do what's right for you. I personally don't like going to bed hungry.

I have Hashi's as well as Celiac. I was diagnosed with Celiac first, then Hashi's years later and only after I gained 60lbs in 2 months. Since getting properly medicated a year ago, I have lost 30lbs in without much change to what I've been doing. I'm gluten free and can tell when I haven't been following it strictly. My…

Exactly my point. I hate when people tell me "Oh, you're just making excuses!" Yeah... no. When you hurt like hell the last thing you want to do, typically, is do something that's going to make it feel worse after the exercise high is over. Curling up on my bed in a fetal position at the end of the day isn't a great way to…

sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. Depends on the medical issue. Personally my chronic pain has nothing to do with my weight and although it was suggested by my PT that losing weight would help so far I see no difference.

I'm so thrilled to see the results! There was a time there where the weight wouldn't come off for anything, it was sooo frustrating.

Yeah, I've lived here for 10 yrs now so everyone knows everyones business. it's pretty funny.

Don't worry, I didn't. it's a small town so the instructor was also the bouncer at the bar I frequent. i'm sure he had some preconceived notions about me before I entered his class. he did this during ab work, I don't have a bad back but have limited abdominal mobility due to severe scar tissue in my tummy. I chewed him…

I switch up all the time and reap great benefits from it. Keeps me from getting bored. OP, I hate strength training with a passion. So I typically try to incorporate it with my cardio. So like i'll run with hand weights, work in some push ups, etc. Prior to my recent injury I would do 2 short runs (2-4 miles) and one long…

thank you much i'll check it out

make small changes, one at a time. if you're used to eating junk and being a couch potato don't expect to go all uber athlete in a week's time while munching on nothing but lettuce.
-
The comments in this thread have been anything but, actually.

On that note, I hate when an instructor berates you for modifying or sitting out. One particular instructor I had to explain to him that getting in my face and being a butt does not help.

Eat less, move more. Same as during the summer. I work full time and am in grad school. I wake up at 5am and workout a few times a week after work. School cant end so late that you cant find time to exercise.

she didn't say she was diabetic. She said she had Celiac which is an autoimmune response to the protein gluten.

people thinking they know better for my body than I do (outside of my medical team) Thinking chronic illness/ pain is an excuse Oh and the "that's impossible" crew who truly believe that they are 100% right 100% of the time

Calories in, calories out. I'm not suggesting it but the type of food you eat doesn't make much of a difference as far as pure weight loss is concerned. Now how you FEEL after you eat nothing but ice cream for a week is a different matter.
-
You could eat chocolate ice cream for every meal and still lose weight :\

A few years ago I took a pilates for dance class. Theres this stretch you can do while laying down where you use a resistance band to stretch your legs that works wonders http://pilatesstudiosouthaustin.com/thrive-for-five-stretch-your-legs-with-a-resistance-band/ And thank you! I walked a little over a mile today so I…

I was struggling to lose weight (gained 60 lbs in 3 months :o ) and they found a tumor on mine. It was taken out and after I was started on Levothyroxine I started dropping the lbs with no changes. But I've always been active and eating healthy.

Hi, I had a complete hysterectomy four years ago. I have chronic abdominal pain due to serious adhesions which also limit my mobility. Combined with that I have arthritis in my left hip. I ran a half marathon and completed a tough mudder two years ago. I was still running up until I had a horse accident a month ago, pretty…

It helps. I'm not saying it doesn't. But it can also cause other problems too that have nothing to do with the Endo. In my case I've had severe adhesions that span from right under my rib cage to the top of my hips, all the way across. I'm in chronic pain and now have arthritis in my left hip. At one point the scar tissue…

Yeah it's not even a "cure" just another way of managing it. I've known people to have a hysterectomy and then have endometrial tissue pop up in other parts of their bodies and still causing havoc. :noway:
-
I hear ya. My reaction was pretty mild to it. Completely stopped my period then made me swell up like a balloon. I was only on it for a year. www.hystersisters.com has some great info for endo as well as hysterectomies for endo.

Has your doctor tried putting you on Depo Lupron?

I had Adenomyosis which is similar to Endo. My gyno was completely supportive of my weight loss goals and maintaining a weight loss. He would help me out and give me pain meds to deal. But that time of the month I was completely useless. I'd bleed so much and so long that I couldn't move. There's not much else you can do…

Up to you and your body. I wasn't losing eating back calories. So I stopped.

My lowest weight is typically within an hour of waking up. I think the most important thing is to be consistent, same time, same machine, same clothes (or non clothes).

FWIW: my guy wouldn't be attracted to you whatsoever because your belly's too small  Guys like women of all different shapes. If your boyfriend likes your shape that's all that matters.
