If you are new to food insecurity, there are some things that you should know. Planning the week of food is essential. Get as many meals out of a set of core foods as possible. Stock your pantry with jarred and canned vegetables and your freezer with frozen vegetables and fruit. Protein powders and drinks often do NOT…

I’m doing that along with Keto and two 36-hour fasts a week. I’m losing steadily about 0.5-1 pound a week. It feels sustainable to me. It definitely got much easier as time went on.

Are you questioning what is happening or why it’s happening? If you’re asking if it’s happening because you’re in ketosis, than the MFP Diet Police will tell you “Woo!” In their world it’s “just” CICO.

Currently doing Keto so 5% carbs= 20 grams. If I’m regular dieting I do 25% carbs.

Grocery stores really want your business. Try asking a manager to order them for you.

Yum. I’m going to try this. I was thinking of crisping up a Fat Head pizza dough round on both sides with no topping and then breaking it up for crackers, too.

Paleo / Ketogenic eating has worked amazingly well for me. I used to hit a wall - just immobilized with exhaustion after several busy days in a row— now I can’t remember the last time that happened. Exercise hard when I can, yoga 5 days a week, lots of fresh air and sunshine and keeping my limbs cooled off.

My kids love it with jelly as a sandwich. We don’t eat peanuts - and almond butter is too expensive considering how much they eat.

No.

Everything in the timeline is true. Tge people, their titles, the FDA reports. I didn’t include the author’s opinion. The credit part got cut accidentally due to difficulty maneuvering around a tiny phone screen with a big finger.

Wow, this thread went from discussion to debate to downright rude really quickly.

That’s a nice looking plate of food. Bright orange/yellow yolks are determined by the chicken’s diet. You can avoid the green ring by immediately immersing the eggs in ice cold water when done cooking (Julia Child trick)

It’s a timeline of events - Time isn’t a conspiracy theory. Rumsfeld’s not going down in history as an honest and ethical man, anyway.

“In 1985, Monsanto purchased G.D. Searle, the chemical company that held the patent to aspartame, the active ingredient in NutraSweet. Monsanto was apparently untroubled by aspartame’s clouded past, including the report of a 1980 FDA Board of Inquiry, comprised of three independent scientists, which confirmed that it…

You obviously disapprove of the Keto diet, so why are you even answering? The OP wasn’t asking for opinions about the diet as a plan. There will be others who actually ask what opinions folks have on Keto or Paleo or Jell-O diets, they’ll welcome your input.

I plateaued, and then increased! recently. Looking at my data, I see I lose when I eat basically one meal a day whether it’s midday or evening and that I easily fall into that pattern when following I.F. and low carb/high fat. Weekends are hardest for me because someone is always either eating or asking me to make them a…

I bake my own bread too! It’s hard to find organic flour where I live though. I don’t know a Paleo recipe for a bread machine. I really like Elana’s Pantry for almond flour breads that I can eat.

I’m so glad to see someone posting in here again. I’ve been on MFP for years. I stick to my little group of friends and stay off the General forums because there’s so much negativity. I follow: Paleo/IF 18/6 Trying to combat unexplained weight gain over last 4 years (definitely not thyroid related, now being tested for…

You would do best to go to a specific forum within MFP for sugar related questions. Search for sugar addiction, etc, then find where it’s a group who addresses the issue - not debates its merits as real or not. Good luck with your health journey!

From one 55 year old woman to another... you’re very smart to be avoiding bread & pasta, keep doing that. Our needs are not the same as the ones for average MFPers. And no one loses like the “If every day was like today..” estimator says. Look into keto eating, maybe drop the banana and berries. Oh, and brace yourself for…

You can still eat a whole pile of vegetables on keto diet plan.

I make my own mayonnaise and BBQ sauce and salad dressings. And power bars - not a condiment.

Don’t forget about eating previous night’s leftovers. There’s no law that defines breakfast food!

When I ate breakfast, I made it awesome. An egg poached in avocado oil with turmeric on homemade paleo bread spread with guacamole. Yum.

So glad to hear about your running! I swam 1000 meters of intervals 25 m fast 25 m lazy slow in fasted state - it was wonderful. But the next day I was ravenous by mid afternoon so I broke early and ate then. So now I will factor that possibility in and be prepared.

I quit drinking for a month and my weight loss didn’t change.

And mental space. Between measuring, weighing, planning, avoiding .... eating was becoming a full time job. A job I hated. I tried OMAD, but even that was annoying with the one plate in one hour rule. Now it’s pretty simple. Don’t eat all day. Then eat a nice dinner with my family, casually enjoying the foods I like (and…

Please know I'm not encouraging others to follow my example. I have 31% BF, am 54, post menopausal, and a stay-at-home mom.... I don't require a lot of food.

That old adage of having them help, or at least watch, me make things has worked for us. Mayonnaise and blue cheese dressing are big ones.
