Warmup - Stretch - Workout - Stretch That's how I do it anyway ... like another poster said, don't stretch cold muscles, ALWAYS do a warmup (jog, jacks, jumprope). Stretching prevents injury!

Kale definitely has a flavor ... I make a lunch smoothie that's: 1/2 cup coconut water 1 cup almond milk 1/2 cup raspberries 2 cups loose kale 4 oz. Greek yogurt Tasty, but the kale tends to be strong. Use baby kale if you can, otherwise prepare for a slightly bitter tone. Using a sweetener can help cut that but for me it…

That sounds about right for your BMR. I was surprised at how high mine was too. When I started Insanity I made the mistake of trying to keep to a 1200 calories diet (default low on MFP) and realize looking back I could have put myself in the hospital. Nausea, shaking, weakness, the whole deal. Insanity is about STRENGTH,…

I'm on board with everyone else here: muscle weighs more than fat. When I (finally) started working out myself a few months ago I told myself I'd be happy being my current weight for the rest of my life if it was just MUSCLE instead of FAT. I've only actually lost 12 pounds, but dropped 3.5 inches off my waist and people…

My daughter just turned 1 on the 3rd of this month so yes ... been there! Congratulations! More than happy to give advice if I'm qualified!

I'm on my last week of Phase 2 right now. VERY hard, but definitely worth it! Definitely listen to your body. You'll die trying to keep up with the people in the video (especially Tania ...) but as long as your form is correct, that's much more important than speed. And don't trim your calories too hard, you WILL need the…

I use a standard homemade crust (pillsbury or similar) because I also have to feed my husband and he's picky :P If I don't want the extra sodium in traditional pizza sauce, just using fresh diced tomatoes (seasoned, of course) works just as well especially if you pan-sear them a little first to coax the water out. For…

Yay! I went through a similar thing ... it took a while for my metabolism to catch fire but once it did things worked out a lot better. Keep up the great work!

Ew. Unsupportive family members are the pits. If I had to nail it down, I'd say your mum takes your eating habits as a criticism of her cooking and/or child-rearing abilities. Have you tried finding new, better recipes together? Instead of lasagna, find and make a grilled eggplant parm. Still requires kitchen moxie but is…

Maybe you've already considered this, but it looks like you're eating a LOT of pre-packaged snacky type things as meals (chicken bites, oat bars, baked crisps, etc.). It's jacking up your carbs and sugars. Eating things that are "low cal" or "low fat" isn't the same thing as eating healthy. I'd limit pre-made bars to once…

I agree ... I'm in the 3rd week of Phase 2, so been there done that! The first couple of weeks I actually GAINED an inch to my thighs and the weight loss was veeeery gradual. During - i think - week 3 of Phase 1 my metabolism finally caught fire. It was easier to operate on the diet and I didn't feel as "weighed down"…

How many calories are you shooting for? Helps if your diary's available for us to look at :)

Did you use the HBE that came with the Nutrition packet? I found that to be the best gauge of where I should be but I've never come close to hitting it. Honestly, if I'm done with dinner and FULL, I don't try to pack in extra calories just for the hell of it. Making smart dietary choices to achieve the best nutrition for…

VERY helpful tips. I remember being SO discouraged when the scale needle didn't move like I wanted it to! Being HEALTHY is so much more important than being SKINNY. As I said to a friend of mine: any idiot can starve themselves to get skinny, it takes dedication and commitment to a better lifestyle to be healthy!

Welcome back! I fell off the wagon this past summer (toooo many birthdays/fairs all at once) but am likewise back on it now too. What are you doing for exercise now?

I use the Timex Unisex T5K738. It's $51.64 from Amazon.com. Not top-of-the-line but does what I need it to. Customizable weight, target HR, etc. Spits out data after the workout: time of workout, time "in the zone", average HR, peak HR, and calories burned. Water resistant to 30M, durable, and the chest strap is pretty…

I too have found that MFP overestimates but I am inclined to agree that weight is a major player in how much you're burning. At the early stages of the game here it's probably close enough for your purposes. Looking forward, it will be worth it to find a HRM that is comfortable and works well for you. Chest-strap HRMs are…

I haven't done T25, but just wrapped up week 4 of Insanity. I too was discouraged at first when I only lost 6 pounds to start, but to echo what others are saying here, your measurements are more important than your scale weight. If you read/watch the videos and documentation for Insanity, it's not about losing huge amounts…

I have to agree with most of the posters here, that over-tired and dizzy thing sounds like low blood sugar stemming from docking your caloric intake too far. Some of my personal favorites for adding GOOD calories (rather than "empty" processed sugar or fillers): Raw Revolution bars. Gluten-free, Lactose-free, Kosher,…

This site doesn't make the distinction, but natural sugars from fruits and veggies isn't the same as processed sugar added to something. I have a whole raw mango (peeled, seeded) for lunch most days and it KILLS my sugar totals but you can't get much better than raw fresh fruit. It's way different than if I had syrup-added…

I agree, stop beating yourself up ... no name calling! As for running, I've always told people that if you see me running Im probably being chased and am running for my life. I much prefer a brisk walk or a hike at a state park to just straight-up pavement pounding. What's your meal plan look like? Are you still working…

31, 3 tats, 1 kid ... looking to lose about 30, hope that doesn't disqualify me! I'd post pics of my tats but I don't think I can without violating forum rules on decency (back art, technically topless). I've been kicking around some ideas for new art but until my daughter's a bit older and I've saved some cash it's just…
