  • Hello Crackers, Long time no see! Bracken, thank you for your phone call and message yesterday and sorry you couldn’t get through the security on our phone today. I have now added your number so hopefully if you call again we will get to speak. I was willing you to call a third time, but you obviously didn’t get the vibe!…
  • Evening Crackers, Well I weighed yesterday evening and I have lost another 1.5lbs this week. I’m really pleased with that given the socialising we did with my old work colleagues in London and for my mother’s birthday at the week-end. It means I have lost all my Christmas weight plus half a pound. I spent yesterday going…
  • Hello Crackers, I weighed in on Tuesday evening and had lost 7lbs. That leaves me just 1lb over my pre Christmas weight so I hope I can shift that this week. However, we are off to Hertfordshire tomorrow ready for my Mother’s birthday on Saturday. We are meeting some of my former work colleagues for dinner in London…
  • Hello Crackers, I know I posted two or three days ago, but it has disappeared so I don’t know what happened to it. I’m sure I actually saw it on the page. Anyway, to recap, I went and weighed in on Tuesday and I had piled it on 8lbs over the 3 weeks of partying. I deserved that, but I have tried to get back to healthy…
  • Bore da Crackers a blwyddyn newydd dda! Happy New Year Well it has been party central here with the New Year festivities and then my husband’s 60th birthday. We went away to a spa hotel for his actual birthday which was lovely and then we went out with our local friends on Saturday and had a fabulous evening. As you…
  • Evening Crackers, Wishing you all a very happy Christmas and I hope Santa is kind to you. Lots of love xx
  • Evening Crackers, I went and weighed in tonight and lost 2lbs this week. As I hadn’t logged my half pound gain from last week it shows as a 1.5 loss here at MFP. I am so pleased with that given how many temptations there are in the run up to Christmas. It means that despite our anniversary w-e away, the dinners I have been…
  • Hello Crackers, Bracken I’m sorry you lost your piece of writing. I remember losing a very important report at work once which couldn’t be retrieved so I had no choice but to recreate it. It is very dispiriting to have to do it all again. I hope that your lunch went well and that you enjoyed it. We have had snow in the UK…
  • Hello Crackers, I’m back from my long week-end away which was lovely. Edinburgh is one of my favourite cities in the world and I always love going back there. We redid some of the touristy things which we haven’t done for years with our goddaughter - tours of Holyrood Palace and the Royal Yacht Britannia. We had a fabulous…
  • Hello Crackers, BM, well done on starting to write those difficult first words. It’s really lovely to hear from you. Yet again this is a short check-in. I didn’t think this year could get any worse after three unexpected bereavements in August, but sadly, one of my cousins, younger than me, unexpectedly passed away…
  • Hello Crackers, Sorry for my absence, been on the road. Going home tomorrow so will catch up then. xx
  • Morning Crackers, Feeling much better today so went and weighed in at a WW class this morning. Very pleased to have lost another pound so that is my first stone done and dusted. Now, straight on to the next one. I am hoping to shift a good part of the next stone before Christmas despite all the Christmas parties I have…
  • Morning Crackers, Exercise report for last week: Maxing - only 2 Steps - 65,935 Considering I spent a day and a half in bed, I’m quite happy with the step total. I didn’t feel up to maxing this morning but hopefully I’ll start back tomorrow. Great step total MITM and well done on limiting the brownie intake! Keep…
  • Hello Crackers, Sounds like you have been busy Bracken and getting plenty of exercise with all the leaf clearing, planting and biking. I never enjoy planting bulbs very much but it is always a joy in the spring when you see them coming up and you get that first colour after the winter. I’m sure your suggestion of flowers…
  • Evening Crackers, Just a quick check in. Felt like I didn't do much today except get ready for our guests. No max, and sat down this afternoon at the hairdressers for ages getting my hair colour done, but somehow managed 13,358 steps. Woo hoo! Hope you did you max as promised MITM Have a good w-e all xx
  • Evening Crackers, I'm having an early night tonight as I slept extremely badly last night and couldn't have a lie in to make up for it as the plumber was coming to service the boiler at 8.00am and I needed to have my max done before he came. Good plumbers are hard to come by and I didn't want any risk of scaring him away…
  • Evening Crackers, Early night for me tonight. Steps 10,581. Got out for a short stroll along the cliffs late this afternoon when the rain and clouds lifted. Blimmin' cold! Nos da xx
  • Morning Crackers, Well done MITM, you are ahead of the game this week and great step totals. I have maxed my waist this morning and done the bike. The husband who longer term needs the bike more than me has only been on it the once! At this rate, once my knee is better it will become a clothes hanger! Only one more max…
  • Evening Crackers, MITM we obviously have the same taste in white! We had Dimity in our bedroom in the last house with a deep aubergine carpet and curtains. It was such a restful room with just a few little touches of pale mint green. I used Slipper Satin in my study for the ceiling, coving and skirting. It was exactly the…
  • Morning Crackers, Got up and maxed first thing and decided to do squat to the max for a change. I then did my five minutes on the bike - up to resistance level 6 now. Boy could I feel it in my legs on the bike after all the squatting! Max1 for the week done and dusted. Have a good day xx
  • Weekly steps 72,580 without adding any extra on for the morning when I had to charge it. Delighted to actually hit my 70,000 target for the week and do three maxes. Feeling chuffed! xx
  • Evening Crackers, I am thrilled to have lost 1.5lbs this week. It just goes to show I shouldn't hop on my scales and believe what they say, I should just weigh in once a week and leave it at that. I'm glad I didn't let my phantom gain derail me in any way and that I just carried on. My incentive for this week is to hit the…
  • Morning Crackers, It was the most beautiful day here yesterday so I went out for a lovely long walk with my husband. The late afternoon sun was glorious. This morning is another story. The mist has descended and there is no view at all whereas yesterday I could see right up Carmarthen Bay to Tenby in Pembrokeshire. I…
  • Morning Crackers, Knee rehab on bike done. Max done Feeling motivated again after a lax week-end. xx
  • It was a beautiful day so we went out for a lovely walk around Swansea Bay. Steps 20,263 That's a bit better xx
  • Hello Crackers, I have biked and maxed this morning so have done my three maxes for the week. My steps yesterday were 6867, but I wasn't wearing my Fitbit in the morning so I reckon I did at least 1,000 more but would still have been short of my 10,000. Must do better. On that note, I'm off for a walk! xx
  • Bore da Crackers, Lovely to hear from you Bracken, but sorry to hear about your digestive issues. It sounds very limiting for you but thank goodness for berries. Are you able to eat nuts? That was a shame about your begonias but at least the geraniums (my favourite summer pot plant) had cuttings taken from them. Do you…
  • Afternoon Crackers, I have maxed this afternoon and done my rehab on the bike. The physio has started me very slow on the bike - 5 mins low resistance for 3 days, then up the resistance for a couple of days, then increase to 10 mins etc, etc until I get up to 30 mins. This will apparently work wonders for my knee which is…
  • Morning Crackers, Sorry you had an off day yesterday MITM. I get days like that too when it seems hard to motivate yourself to do anything. Thank goodness you didn't make the cookies! I enjoyed Strictly last night and agree with you that Joe did brilliantly well as did Alexandra. Fabulous Argentine Tango. I still think…
  • Lol MITM. Can't wait to go back to WW and say I tried a new chocolate and salted peanut cookie recipe that involved no cooking!!! I don't think that's the kind of change our leader had in mind! xx
