Looks like his right arm was run over by a monster truck.

Gym... then go find a meeting of Overeaters Anonymous. It's free.

We succeed at the things we make priorities.

Not unless you do not want your body to repair the muscle damage done to it while exercising.

Yeah, the only way to lose weight is to sustain a caloric deficit, which can be achieve two ways... eating less calories and burning more calories. That being said, staying under a calorie target by eating, say, Snickers and drinking beer probably won't work. Not all carbs are created equal (Google the gylcemic index). As…

The only thing I can suggest is what I do... eat less, move more... a lot more.
-
"I meant to do that!"

Are you lifting weights?
-
-
Lifting heavy using foundational sets is probably the best way to do what you want. It will increase your strength and add muscle, which will help reduce BF. This is what the StrongLifts 5x5 program does, but the guy who runs it rubs me the wrong way.

As far as the time of day, do it in the morning about the same time each day, after weeing and pooing (if you can, because it's instant weight loss ). Do it before drinking a lot of water and strip down as much as possible.

Whatever you do, the most important thing to do is NOT to place time deadlines on when to expect losses. I weight daily but take the readings with a grain of salt. When I do lose, I record it here at MFP. If that's two days in a row, that's just hoopy with me.

Not necessarily disputing you, but I went from insulin dependent type 2 diabetes to nothing more than Metformin, and I all I'm doing is limiting my calories to around 1,500 per day and running my buttocks off on an elliptical four times a week. I try to make sure my carbs come from whole grains, but I'm not restricting…

The more hunger pangs I endure, the more I win. The more I go to bed hungry, the more I win. The more times I go to the gym, the more I win. The more sweat-soaked my shirts are from workouts, the more I win. The more weight I lift, the more I lift it, the more I win. The more time I add to my workouts, even seconds, the…

Yes, I'm losing weight by eating less of everything and moving more of my body around.

The douche is strong with Mehdi... already getting emails about buying his plateau breaking program. Sheesh..
-
I felt a bit like being sprayed with a douche nozzle after reading his webpage. But, yeah, the program seems solid. QFT about Reg Park.

Four corner deep dish pizza from Jet's. Beer. My wife (though she's calorie free).

If you introduce strength training and starting gaining muscle mass (a very, very good thing in terms of upping your metabolism), be aware that the scales will reflect the addition of more dense body mass, i.e, it will get harder to see fat loss on the scales.

My doctor told me that losing weight was not a priority for me. After my ears stopped ringing, I had to agree with him. Now, everything I do feeds my priorities to lose weight and be fit.
-
Welcome, Marci! MFP has proven to be an awesome tool for me. Feel free to friend me.
-
It's simple... you will see changes on the belt line just before you see them on the scales. Fat tissue is diffuse... it takes up away more space than muscle, which is dense.

Give me the calories so I can eat MORE!

Sweet! May 20, 2013, I could barely do 13 minutes on the elliptical. Yesterday, I did "40 HII/35 LII" for 65 minutes and 5 miles. No matter how long it takes, I will do 5 miles in under 60 minutes.

Wish I had a solution to offer you. Sometimes, you just have to be hungry. That being said, I have been doing reading that suggests that cardio exercise can help curb appetites.
-
I think I gained weight just seeing those pictures.

I know, right? Though in my case, it would be pizza, ice cream, and daily breakfasts at McDonald's. After my doctor told me I wasn't losing weight for the simple reason that I was not making it a priority, it was hard to hear anything else over the ringing in my ears. He's an addict, like me, though his drug of choice was…
