If you are only eating 1200 calories a day, going to the gym for 1-2 hours, AND breastfeeding, you are starving your body! You are not giving your body enough calories to maintain its daily metabolic functions. Producing milk takes 300-500 calories per day. If you aren't giving yourself enough for that plus everything else…

I work in a large urban district as well. It makes me sad to hear about places with even less resources. It's inhumane. I don't work in a locker room, but our small resource room has 8 names on the door. We've gotten pretty good at sharing spaces.

What kind of barbaric school doesn't give teachers access to a microwave or fridge? I've worked as a substitute for three years and I still pack hot lunch knowing the teacher's lounge at any school will have at least two microwaves. I prep a big meal on Sunday and portion it out into tupperwares for each day. Breakfast is…

http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10241775/got-ground-turkey#latest This post was a few below yours in the forum. I don't have any particularly creative ideas, just the same stuff you would use ground beef for. Burgers, chili, tacos, etc.

I pre-cook lunches for the week on Sundays. This past week I cooked a big batch of rice and mixed it with ground beef, BBQ sauce, and mixed vegetables. I portion it out into equal size tupperwares. I've been also bringing a mini cup of applesauce and a cup of dry cereal as a snack. Cheese sticks would also be good as a…

Good work! I've actually been a member of MFP for about six years. I was very active the first couple years, then dropped off into obscurity. I teach high schoolers in the summer and I love it. (I actually love every grade, and I've taught them all! PreK and up!)

Middle school teachers are a special breed. I love it! My students from student teaching are starting high school this year. I'm so proud of them! :p

Hello! I have not been diagnosed as prediabetic, but it runs in my family. Preventing diabetes is definitely near the top of my motivation list. Good luck to you!

Oh my. I know one of my biggest challenges will be the teacher's lounge Wednesdays. I'm working long call at a school I love, but they all take turns bringing in treats on Wednesdays. The school has some amazing bakers.

Thanks, davis! I lost about 60 pounds back in undergrad using MFP, so I know it works. I just gotta stick to it!

There are no fat tea drinkers. Also, if you drink tea, you will win the Nobel Prize.

I am not Muslim, but I work with Muslim teenagers. Although I cannot tell them what to do in regards to their religion and the sacrifices they make during fast, I want to make sure they take care of their health as much as possible. If dieting and fasting together gets to be too much strain on your body, I'm sure it will…

Just have fun! Don't worry about a few pounds. I'm sure you look just fine, and you'll look even better as a confident, happy you!

Chicken Pot Pie skillet meal. Half the bag is only 375 calories. I love these things. Only $3-$5 to feed two people.

The first time I used MFP, I was a broke college student working at Burger King. I managed to bring my lunch to work frequently, but when I needed to indulge, I just made smart choices. I would usually get grilled chicken or a smaller burger. I also would use sauce packets to add flavor to my home meals. BBQ, buffalo, and…

I was going to suggest some sodium as well, but seeing as how your exercise canceled out your food calories, it's like you didn't eat anything at all! Remember your body still needs energy to stay alive beyond what it uses on the treadmill or whatever.

I just got my Charge yesterday! I've had a Zip for a couple years, but I love the upgrade. https://www.fitbit.com/user/25RZQ4

What's your question, sorry?

Thanks for the suggestions! I will definitely try many of these in the future. For tomorrow I'm going with cinnamon sugar and a couple Hershey's kisses which will melt into lovely chocolateness when I add the hot water.

By the afternoon, you've probably consumed food. Food has mass, even sitting partially digusted in your gut. The scale doesn't differentiate between "you" weight and "food in you" weight.
-
No, this.
-
That sounds like a LOT! Do you include the water that's in the food you eat? Because that makes up for a lot of your fluid intake. If I was to follow your formula, I'd spend all day in the bathroom.

I love your goal for next year!

I hope to. My university has a fitness center, but it's on the undergrad campus and it's not free. However, one of my best friends goes a college down the street from mine and may be able to get me in as a guest. I know I don't need a gym, but seeing the numbers on the machine in front of me is really motivating.

Being addicted to MFP was what got me through it before, so I'm sure I'll be addicted again!

A teacher in MN? Hello, brother!
-
If you've done it before, you DEF can do it again!
-
Hi! Good luck!

Oh, well then yeah, only weigh what you plan to eat. You wouldn't count the weight of a banana peel or the skin of an orange either.
