  • Here's my take: If you LIKE running, why in the world would you stop? You're not doing it for anyone else! You're doing it for you! It's free therapy, it keeps you healthy, and I'm guessing it keeps you sane. So why would you ever stop?!?!!?
  • Love this!!! So true! Make a conscious effort to not eat this and eat that instead and go to the gym. It's a done deal, no negotiations.
  • I literally just went to a symposium on this last week (I'm an Athletic Trainer)! Whey Protein is the best for supplementing. If you're trying to lose weight you want to reduce your carbs and your fats but maintain protein. A good way of knowing how much protein you need is by this model: .8-1.2 grams of protein per body…
  • I'am an athletic trainer. I love my job! I watch sports for a living, I have 185 athletes I'm responsible for and although the hours suck, it keeps me on my toes!
  • Again thanks everyone, and good morning! I have been awake for a little over 2 hours and my discomfort has begun again. I slept all throught the night, but woke up and drank some water (wth?!) and boom, that weird feeling again. I will say that it's not the excrutiating pain that you all have been describing, so maybe…
  • You all have helped so much! I am in the middle of some... I'll call it discomfort...right now. :( As this is all new to me, I just figured out today that I've been having symptoms for a few months, I just thought it was due to my poor posture and my job. Now, not so much. I have a follow up with my Dr. in a month, but if…
  • Nawh!!! How great! So happy for you!
  • Congrats!
  • Chop up a bunch of veggies to have as your snack, and what's great is that once they're all chopped p, it's done for the week. Make sure you're drinking lots of water too, dehydration can make you tired, and a tired driver is never good! You could make yourself some wraps with different ingredients each day. I would make…
  • My first very serious boyfriend actually broke up with me because, "I'm not attracted to you anymore". Yup. We had been together for a year and a half and when we first started dating I was really athletic and he wasn't so I kinda dropped out of going to the gym every day. A year and a half and 30 pounds later that's what…
  • I read an article that said a non-sweetened/ syruped latte was a great post workout drink. The caffiene keeps your metabolism up and keeps blood vessels dilated to keep nutrients going to muscles and the protien in milk helps rebuild damaged muscle tissue. So my suggestion is this: earn your morning latte! Do push-ups,…
  • 1) I highly recommend the book "Eat This, Not That!" It's basiclly a list of all fast food places and gives their best and worst options. 2) I'm a meat eater, so I go for the bunless cheeseburger and a side salad. Put the burger on the salad and voila, cheeseburger salad! At Burger King I get a Whopper with cheese, no bun,…
  • I have 2 hard boiled eggs 5 days a week. It's 140 calories, low sodium and keeps me full until lunch. I also have coffee with it too, so very low carb all together.
  • You really were beautiful before, and now so healthy looking! Congrats!
  • It does, thank you!
  • Could you friend request me? I am sitting at 282 right now and have been wondering this for myself. I'd like to be able to check in with you and see how your doing/ what your results are? Is that ok?
  • 27 y.o. and on my way to losing 100+ Add me if you like!
  • Holy crap! This makes me feel better! I'm a 22 now and seeing this gives me even more motivation! You ROCK!
  • IMHO, yes it does. I used to only drink Diet Coke, so I thought I was ok, but as soon as I gave it up, I started losing weight. I think I've read somewhere that because you tongue tastes the sweet, your brain expects sugar, so it responds accordingly, and when it doesn't get it you crave sugary/carby foods, and therefore…
  • I would just do what your body wants you to do. Eat your normal meals, and if you're still hungry 20-30 minutes later, have a little snack. You're burning more than enough to keep losing weight, so don't punish yourself by denying the energy that it needs.
  • If I'm being totally honest here, which I am, I would still have a sensible, small dinner and chalk it up as a "cheat" meal. It's a special occasion, your daughter was in town.
  • Unless you're really breaking a sweat and getting your heart rate up, I would leave it off. There are other ways besides a HRM to know if your HR is up down or the same. Doing the "talk-test" is a good one and RPE is another. If your PT is worth their salt, they should be able to tell you what those mean in more detail.
  • 26 y.o. needing to lose about 100 lbs! Friend me!
  • hydrate! and sunscreen!
  • You guys would also love Extra's Dessert Delights Mint Chocolate Chip gum! I was skeptical at first, but it's amazing! And only 5 calories!
  • It probably went up because you have less weight to lose than you did previously, and you kept the weight lost per week that same. So it'll probably take a few more weeks to lose that 10 lbs., but I would *think* that if you wanted to cut out the extra 100 calories to get those first 10 off, it would be ok.
  • I highly recommend Fitness Magazine. You get new work outs each month and it's like $5, and they give you ones that don't require a gym or expensive equipment most of the time. I personally am not great about the whole exercise thing, but each month they have these amazing people who've lost weight and kept it off. They…
  • Yes, my husband is literally addicted to Diet Pepsi! If he could hook it up to an IV, he would- really, he's talked about it! It's the first thing he does when he wakes up in the morning, goes to the kitchen and get a glass with ice and Diet Pepsi! I almost think we would be rich for all the stuff he goes through in a…
  • Do you have a place that buys gently used items? You can use the money to buy new clothes at the same place! Just a thought.
  • I bought the Runtones by Reebok. They're pretty awesome if you've been running a while I think. I went for my first run in a very long time in them and my calves were BURNING! Now, I wear them to work to get a boost as I'm walking everywhere. I've noticed an increase in my ankle stability, but I think that I should have…
