Have you got time to fit in a kettlebell class? I recently (well in the last year) got onto this workout and once you have one and get your technique correct you could do that at home? Form over weight I believe - I'd rather stick with a lower weight and maintain through the class than stagger through with the next weight…

Extreme push up?! I am not good at burpees - they are becoming a regular feature of the kettlebell class I go to, I tend to walk them down and then a static jump but better than not doing them at all! Circuit training perhaps? Its what I log my kettlebell and powerhoop classes as.

When I started maintainence in June 2013 I intended to keep between 12st 2lbs and 12st 7lbs but I've been sitting just under 12st since middle of June this year and I don't intend going up to more than 12st 2lbs now. I didn't have a goal in mind when my weight loss began, so sought medical opinion, and my Doctor and…

Seek advice from a podatrist - I have PF in my left foot and though I was diagnosed before my 4stone loss, I still use the shoe inserts and haven't had pain since.

Concur with all the advice above. I did a course with my Powerhoop instructor (and if you have a class near you of that I recommend it too!) and I really enjoyed it. Now I have replaced a gym session with a kettlebell class, partly for variety and partly because I enjoy it. According to MFP I can burn 400+ calories in my…

The ladies in our Passes section at work won't take a new ID photo of me, so both my passes for work are the 'old' me which has got me stopped by new security check staff who don't know me from 'before' so it can be slightly embarressing. Or as my work colleague is oft to say 'Totes Awks!'!

Thank goodness other people get this too! I have lost 4 stone in weight (old school Imperial weight here in the UK!) but only joined MFP after that, so my loss scale is me maintaining. I too have been overweight/The Fat Girl since I was 10 and am still not used to maintaining my weight loss even after almost 18 months. I…

As other people have said, admitting you need to do something is the first step - but actually doing something about it is the difficult thing! Baby steps are better than nothing, walking really helped me when I first started losing weight, and I found the more I moved, the more I wanted to keep moving. It depends on your…

I weigh myself on a Monday morning, first thing, straight out of bed. It really helps keep me on track, and I usually do most of my walking on a Saturday and a gym session on a Sunday afternoon, so it focusses my efforts for the coming week. Any more than that and I think it would be too much - the fluctuations of daily…

I am back after just under a year, part of which I was using my new Samsung Health app. But that recently changed due to an update so I can't log my aerobic or circuit training workouts so that app - other than the pedometer - just doesn't work for me anymore. I find, like a lot of people who have posted here, that I need…

I have to admit I get through about 6-8 cups of Yorkshire Tea every work day - living up to the stereotype of British Civil Servants to very hilt! My colleague is a huge fruit tea fan, but I haven't found one I like yet...

I think its a good idea to have a check on the app to see what kind of calorie count on your pre-diet/new eating regime choices - that certainly made me change my mind!! I'm in the UK, and found that the weight management part of the NHS (National Health Service) website helpful as it gives pointers on making more informed…

Oh thank goodness it's not just me that gets told this! I think, in my case, its because I have been overweight since I was 10 years old, and have always been 'the fat girl'. I am now realising that being the fat girl actually defined my place in several friendships (of various descriptions) since then. One girl I have…

I suffer from this problem myself so I empathise! I have found that a Cadbury's Freddo Frog (milk chocolate or caramel = 95kcals) or a Cadbury's Curly Whirly - chilled (115 kcals) helps considerably when I just have to have chocolate! Alternatively, a Slim Fast 'treat' bar of Chocolate Caramel or their Nougat one are very…
