I'm loving all the great suggestions in this thread, but a little worried about commenting because my boyfriend would enjoy this thread WAY TOO MUCH!!!   Great work, ladies!

So, so true!!!

I saw some recipes using PB2 on Hungry-girl.com

Cheaper on Amazon. I put it in my morning protein shakes everyday. So far I haven't loved the product when mixed with water, but I am a peanut butter addict.

This is fantastic progress, and you seem ecstatic - as you should be! Many of these terms don't make sense to me. Can anyone tell me where to start in this program? Where do I learn the basics? I'm currently using TDEE method. Congrats again! You look amazing!!

I couldn't agree more! My kids will grow up and move on and start their own families. If they are my entire life, where will I be after they've moved on? Cindy, I'm so sorry you're going through this and I can relate much more than you know and much more than I'd like to discuss on this board. Suffice to say that I've been…

I've come up with a solution for this. I keep a shelf-stable 16-oz carton of almond milk in my truck along with a shaker bottle containing my protein mix (I add other things besides just protein powder). If I'm ever in that situation, I just need to find some ice & shake. I also carry a snack size of almonds and a protein…

Berries are the best possible lower carb fruits. Low glycemic index also.

Sounds yummy! I recently discovered a substitute for tortilla chips or "something" crunchy in a meal like this. Wonton wrappers. Slice into strips, spray w/ nonstick & bake until crisp. Each wrapper is something like 20 calories, so you could have nearly a cup of strips for approx 40 calories!

Yep! I take an epsom salt bath at least once a week. Relaxing, detoxifying, calming, anti-inflammatory and magnesium (absorbed through your skin) is great for inducing sleep. I don't think many of us on MFP are looking for quick fixes for weight loss. We're here to do the hard work. But I've heard of friends who did the…

Ahhh, okay... You may be right, I'm not sure whether celiac was a factor or not. I'm certainly not questioning YOUR expertise on the subject. I'm sure you've read everthing you possibly can & are doing all you can to minimize any responses. Those autoimmune diseases like to hang out in groups, I see...

I don't know much about Hashimotos, but I have also heard gluten free recommended as a tool for those with the disease.

I absolutely agree with all of this. With the relatively little I've learned so far, I'd say your protein is definitely too low. Check me on this, but I think the minimum should be .8 grams per pound of body weight to maintain lean muscle while losing. Also, my boyfriend does pushups while studying, and I do squats while…

There's a lot of great advice on here - what a great community! OP - you're right, you have some research to do. You've done great so far - continued success!! :flowerforyou:

Finally, I'm one of the cool kids! Who knew that all I had to do was get older?

This, for sure.

I like www.fitnessblender.com for home workout videos much better than Youtube.

Thanks for the recipe: I've heard of this before, but never tried it. I love the chocolate & walnut additions!
-
Great work!! You've come so far already - congrats! :flowerforyou:

I love this answer! I did the same thing. 86'd everything (including alcohol) for over a month. I didn't eat 1200 calories - probably more like 1800-1900, but I kept it really clean & made sure I was full everyday. I did start cardio along with weight training. As the weeks have gone by, I've gotten more strict about some…

Mine is when & where I was born.

These pics are mad-inspiring!!

Bump!

I eat a huge salad everyday for lunch. These are the basics: ALWAYS: - Spinach, kale, and/or spring mix - Grape tomatoes - Red onion - Cucumbers - Some kind of in-season fruit (strawberries, mango, peaches, pomegranate) - Feta (because this gives me the most "bang" for the least calories & the saltiness contrasts w/ the…

First, I want to say this is a very interesting thread & best of luck to you on your journey! According to medical charts, I think everyone is on target by saying the goal for a 5'7" woman is in the 135-145 range. HOWEVER, I'm currently 217 and a size 12/14 (see above - I'm 45 lbs heavier than the quoted poster, which I…

#1 - Peanut Butter #2 - Beer!

Another great suggestion! No mixer, no extra calories!

This is helpful to me! I quit when I started back @ the gym, 2 months ago. I was a daily drinker: 2-3 per day and more on weekends. But this weekend we have a party planned and all along I've intended to have a couple of drinks. I've been anxious about it, though. I don't want to go overboard (I tend to be a "pick up…

Exactly!

Yes, a very good point! The "pub food" is a killer! I intend to bring it back, in moderation but I'm not ready yet. I want to echo what someone else mentioned: working out. This was the first, consistent change I made (other than cutting out beer) because I knew I'd quickly FEEL better, even if the scale wasn't moving.…
