Can I just buy some from you? This sounds really complicated!
-
Well that stinks. I had the same question, but I'd still like to track my exercise.

I would just like to add that I know exactly where your hubby is coming from. I have people like that in my life. Food is love and they show you they love you by feeding you. I would say to my husband, "If I were an alcoholic, would you offer me a beer?" It's the same type of thing. You CHOOSE to abstain right now because…

Same here, Dozer! I've been grumbling all week about gaining inches in my thighs & waist (but LOSING in my chest). I'm finally "getting it": I'm gaining muscle and as the fat disappears the muscle is building. Just have to hang in there for the long haul. Again, great explanation!

BukkaNekkid. Not allowed to wear clothes to bed. That's our rule. Easy access. Often results in a SURPRISE "wake up call", but that's the point.

My Home Goals Change Goals Custom: Manually set my own custom fitness goals Here you will enter the percentages for your macros & see the calculations for the raw numbers.

I really like Scooby's site for calculating macros. Try this link: http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ You can adjust as you'd like. I usually eat 40% protein because I'm doing a lot of strength training right now. You can set the percentages any way you'd like and then the site will do the math for you & give…

Yes! ^^ This. Allergies can worsen significantly without notice. A mild allergy can, at any moment, become fatal. I disagree with those saying "keep a log". Go see an allergist. If your insurance allows it, go straight to an allergy doc - don't spend time with your primary care doc unless you need a referral. If you do…

You're right, this is packed with plenty of protein. Can't wait to try it! Thanks, Jen!!
-
^Absolutely agree with this! I don't log it. Making exercise a new habit is a priority for me. I can't let myself use daily activities as a substitute for regular exercise.

Sounds delish! Recipe, please?

I always used fresh. The frozen stuff is hard to get dry enough & you'll have watery eggs. The real trick to omelets (or additions to scrambled eggs) is to make sure everything is warmed before you add it. There won't be enough time to cook the additions without over cooking the eggs. Particularly with foods that put off a…

I add yolks to my egg white omelets.

I'm actually researching PiYo and came across your success story... Wow! Great work - way to go! The first thing I noticed were your arms - then I saw that you didn't lose any inches from them. They are CLEARLY more toned!! WELL DONE! :drinker: I'm trying to avoid buying the whole package because I've spent so much…

Yum! Looks pretty good!! Personally, I will probably substitute more honey & sugar for the splenda because I don't care for the taste, but have many diabetic family members who would LOVE this as is - Even with the adjustment, it's still a great recipe & starting point. Thanks for posting!

We've all been there with the struggle of self-defeating vicious cycles. I call this the mind *kitten*. It's shocking how powerful our minds are. I am not even sure there's any such thing as willpower; so much as the right mindset. I have started trying to change the script that plays on a constant loop in my head. This…

Amen! We need to stop demonizing foods!

I'm in Alexandria, but I work out at 24-Hour Fitness. I used to belong to Golds. I really love 24-Hour now, though. Many of the classes are the same, if classes are your thing (like me). And I typically work out early mornings around 6am. Would be happy to have local workout buddies!

I live in Alexandria & work in Tysons Corner (which is also where I work out most of the time).

Alcohol is a bad idea in my experience. It will make you FALL asleep, but your sleep won't be quality sleep. I wake up more tired than if I hadn't slept at all. A workout definitely won't be happening the next morning! This is what works for me: Hot Bath with epsom salt, while drinking hot tea. Turn down the lights & don't…

^^Listen to this guy. I always do! To add my 2 cents: Doesn't muscle building involve water retention in the muscle? I'm not being sarcastic or snarky, but honestly posing the question, because I'm fairly new to strength training. It seems I've read that before. I love the idea Vismal suggested of weighing yourself…

Bump-Bump-Bump! Thank you!!

The horse is dead. Stop beating him.

Vismal: This is the best explanation I've heard. As usual, you've explained it perfectly. Whether or not it will be received... :ohwell: And as for the Strawman argument: If I had a dollar for every one of those I read on these boards daily...!

Exactly what I would have suggested! As for the tequila sunrise, the best you can do is to buy light OJ & skip the grenadine. It's 100% sugar. Guess that's just a Tequila Sun.

Yum! Sounds like a late-summer version of stuffing to me! Very creative & great way to use up some squash!

My gym is exactly like #2 - and it's very close to where I work (which is 25 min from home). The way I make myself go is by choosing classes that are before or after work. I love it! But in the DC area a 20 minute drive is nothing! There are people around here who commute an hour+ each way. Do you really think the 20 min…
