I've only been here a few weeks - but always love having new friends for motivation & support. Feel free to add me & Good Luck!

DITTO! Feel free to add me, everyone!

Yes - THIS! I'm having a very similar problem! MFP puts me at 1200 unless I work out - and I do, typically 5-6 hours a week! I've been stalled and very frustrated (not to mention HUNGRY on rest days). Over the past week, I've done a lot of research on iifym.com and Scooby's Workshop (great calculators on both sites). For…

I think it's a personal preference. I prefer to work out early morning & usually on an empty stomach (if anything, I'll have a banana an hour prior). Then I have a protein shake w/ added fiber for breakfast. It's convenient, nutritious, and fits into my workday very well. Like others have said, I also don't have much…

Libra - ruled by Venus, with Cancer rising. My favorite exercise is the sweaty kind you have in bed BEFORE leaving for the gym. But AT the gym... I prefer spinning and lifting.

Bumping for later because I'm having the EXACT same problem!

No? Please, tell me more. Seriously - because eating too little seems to be the feedback I've gotten so far from others.

I'm seriously starting to wonder if I'm not eating enough.

I'm in a similar situation - frustrated with stalled weight loss. I do cardio 3 times a week (cycling) and strength training 3 times a week. I lost 6 pounds pretty quickly but nothing over the past 2 weeks. According to MFP I'm under my calorie goals and I just used Scooby's calculator, which tells me I should be eating…

Wow! What a story - I'm sorry your Grandmother went through so much! It's amazing what we will do in the name of weight loss, but you're so right that without changing the habits, nothing will work long term. I've actually had about half of my intestine removed (due to some freak intestinal twisting) and I've been through…

Bump - I'm also choosing between P90x3 and T25. I've been back on track & in the gym for a little over a month now. Cardio is what I seem to get enough of, but I'm struggling with finding the time between cardio workouts to add strength training & muscle toning. For this reason and because of what I've read here, I'm…

Oh, I want to add that I also use extra fresh lemon or lime before adding vinaigrette. It makes the vinaigrette go further and with fewer calories. My trick at work is to put my salad into a gallon size zipper bag, squeeze the lemon in and then add dressing. Shake the bag to evenly distribute.

Juice of 1 lemon Juice of 1/2 orange 1/4 c. Apple Cider Vinegar (raw, organic) 1 T. Dijon 1/8 c. Olive Oil 1/4 c. Water 1 garlic clove, minced Salt & Cayenne Pepper The mustard is important to help hold the vinaigrette together. This is my usual, but I like my dressing more vinegary than most. A typical ratio is 1:2…

Very good info, re: muscles retaining fluid. I tend not to take rest days as I should - Thanks! My thighs are nearly the same circumference as my waist! I've accepted that some things can't be (completely) changed. I agree with the others who have touted spin classes. I'm back at it now, because my legs were in the best…

If it's not too personal, do you mind talking more about the weight loss surgery and complications your mother & grandmother experienced? This is valuable and I think a lot of people can benefit from your perspective having witnessed that.

I agree with Skinnytaste.com. I've also found some good info on Hungry-Girl.com. It's a little tough to navigate, but her strength is finding ready to eat "swaps" for things we crave (like frozen pizza for that craving when it hits). It's not my usual go-to because I prefer not to use a lot of processed foods, but there…

I love this advice almost as much as I love Marines (which is the reason I read it in the first place)! I couldn't agree more. My favorite take-away: "You need motivation to START on your journey. You need habits to FINISH/MAINTAIN the end of your journey." Best of luck to you, Marine!
