• When mine does that, the battery is bad. Try taking out the battery for a bit then putting it back in. If it keeps doing it, replace the battery. At least that is what I would try before taking the time to return it. :)
• I think it really just depends on what you're doing and why. I like to lift 3x's a week and planned cardioi 2x's. But my goals are very different than many -- I just want to look and feel better but I don't want to be super strong, an endurance runner, or any of that. So for me and my goals, 2hrs./day just isn't necessary.…
• No, unfortunately, you can't target fat loss. You can target muscle groups, but not fat loss. All you can do is what you're doing. And I second the lifting!
• Well, you don't really need help. You just need to track your cals, get in a bit of exercise, and give it time. Weight loss will get them off. Just be patient and give yourself time and before you know it, they'll get smaller and smaller until they are gone.
• That actually isn't true. Google it. They use to think it did but turns out it's just where your nose/ears lose their elasticity over time and appear larger -- particularly on men.
• I'm not trying to nit pick here as I have no dog in this fight, but you DO realize you made an error in that paragraph? I'm not familiar with bolding but you said, "Boiled potatoes may have a high ranking on some satiety indexes but I personally don't know anyone that eats boiled potatoes on a regular basis. French fries,…
• My Dad is a diabetic and when they wanted him to drop weight, they put him on a low carb diet. When I was originally diagnosed with PCOS, my doc did the same because I had insulin resistance. I normally would say eat in moderation, exercise, and stick to your cals but in this case, your best option just might be to lower…
• AH! I get what you're saying. Normally the show follows the typical MFP premise of 'No special snowflakes' as in, calories in and calories out. But for THIS show, they indeed made him come across as the special snowflake, BUT without explanation. The sad truth is, it's TV. You can read through the comments on there or…
• Thanks! I really love it. This is the longest it has been in a long time and the color mix (Peacock Peek-a-boo) was something fun and different to do during the Winter for a little pick-me-up.
• It may not be form. Like others have said, it could be normal soreness after lifting. Like, I upped weight yesterday on my squats and today they are a tad sore. Nothing painful, just sore. As the day has gone on, I've noticed it less. When DL'ing, I've had it before, too, but nothing severe or long lasting. If that is the…
• :blushing: Thanks! I really hated it all swollen and bulbous! And for whatever reason when I was heavier, I never associated it with being fat over all. But when I started losing and seeing pics, I was like OH WOW! I never realized I had dimples, either. Makes you realize how little you pay attention to yourself at times!
• You don't have to search the database first. When you 'Search' click on whichever one you think is close and then to the right where it gives the info in red, under that there is a spot with 'Nutritional Info' in blue. If you click on that, another small window opens telling the details. If that isn't the right one, you…
• *shrugs* I didn't say the actual NOSE changed, but that the fat on my face AROUND my nose made the difference. Go to the thread on 'drastic face changes after weight loss' on here and you can see what I mean. I don't think my actual nose changed -- I think it just looked bulbous before and now doesn't because of the shift…
• Silly or not, good question to ask since well.... it's the center of your face! For me, my nose has shrunk. It was huge and bulbous before and started looking like a round ball. But as I've lost and my face thinned (I lost 50lbs. prior to this last run), it has gotten less round. I don't think my nose actually got larger…
• Mine is set to 1600 as my minimum. So... it's my goal to go over. I want to get over 1600 but under 1700, but maybe higher on a hard day. I try to hit my protein macro, and my fat, but that is still a work in progress. Most days, I feel like the 1600-1700 is good. But on a hard day, I feel like I need more (hungry,…
• Glad this thread makes some people smile and not just cry about stupidity.
I'm all for less stupidity... and more ice cream. Especially caramel ice cream... after steak.
• Exactly, eat them all until you find the caramel filled ones
I think you just became one of my favorite people. Even more so than before. :drinker: P.S. That STEEEEAAAAAKKKK! YUM.
• Woot! Lift it, girl! You'll be hitting the big stuff soon enough! And no worries on the guys -- they'll be impressed you're there and going for it! Most of the time, people aren't even really paying attention and just doing their own thing, though! So go, lift, and be merry!
• There's a SL 5x5 group for women on here. But the best results I've seen have been in the Mom's success thread. Many of the women in there (they were talking about saggy skin after kids) have been AMAZING. I realize I probably won't get there any time soon (I still have right at 25lbs. or more to go), but after about 6…
• No one is 'encouraging' anything. They are just saying that if this isn't something that happens often, then one day is fine. I have days like that once in a while where I've slept in, ate a decent lunch and then wasn't hungry again until later and ate and then it was time for bed. If it is just a once in a while thing,…
• *sigh* I don't think anyone is getting it. The point isn't that it had calories. The point isn't that sugar is evil. The point is that she ordered something not having the time to look it up and when she got to where she could, discovered it could have hundreds of cals that didn't fit into her day. I would've poured it…
• Quiche! Make ahead, slice into portions, and take to work to nuke for a few seconds. Quiche is yummy and flexible with lots of protein and veggies without tons of cals. The one I was making was only around 170 for one slice but you could make your slices bigger or smaller. You could eat two smaller (to make it feel like…
• That would suck. I get people say enjoy it and move on, but if you weren't expecting it... it can be a downer. I usually get the SF Mango. According to their site, it's 0. So, I'd say it depends on which type of slush you get. I know they have the super fruity and syrupy ones, but there are some other 'real fruit' ones and…
• I don't really care one way or another. I have a typical brand I wear and I know what I weigh and I'm starting to measure, so I just don't pay attention to it anymore. I'd rather buy a size up and it fit better than wear something too tight and it look awful or be worried about it. But yes, it is VERY annoying that there…
• Well, can't see your diary so no idea what your calorie limit is. Some deets like that would help and any food restrictions or health issues. But typically if you are hungry, you can do several things. One like the pp posted is to drink more water/liquids and make sure you're getting enough. Another is to make sure you are…
• I was going to say I'm really here for the ice cream, but I see you brought some already. Wanna share? I have Talenti Southern Butter Pecan! You know there's even a thread for that. lol
• You DO realize that CousCous is just little granules of pasta, right? So, it's not really any better than rice... I say eat whichever you like. I usually only use about half a cup and mix it in with veggies and my meat. YUM. Or mix it in a bowl with butter and brown sugar. Even if you are pre-diabetic, you can still eat…
• HA! I almost spilled my beer. BAD POSTER. BAD! But funny.
• The only thing I can think is that they were desperate to get out of the house and hoped that the kiddo would go to sleep. I've had friends do that. I would in a restaurant where the noise is a 'hum' but not in a theater where the noise would be loud and jarring.
• I have two kids and I've never done that. At 10PM, I am PRAYING they are asleep. LOL
