  • Dropping in. Days 4, and 5 done. Yesterday was OK, today sucked, woke up with DOMS and a resting heart rate 25% above normal, skipped like a sack of excrement. Having 2 rest days this weekend; very busy moving house! Be back next week.
  • I once ate about 7 plates of food at an all you can eat buffet. I felt so ill afterwards.... which is a good incentive to not do it again! Aside from that, I can put away a large Dominos pizza on my own if I'm hungry..... that's like 3000 calories in one sitting. =P
  • Day 3 done..... sort of. Was knackered from 10 miles cycling and a 2 mile run so I just kept tripping but I stumbled (not a pun) through 10 minutes. Gonna try to do tomorrow's session first thing in the morning while I'm fresh I think.
  • Day 2 done! (gonna be spamming this thread, hope nobody minds) Set off slower today, and was able to maintain a pretty constant speed this time. Only tripped maybe 4 or 5 times which is a huge improvement. I lost count of how many times I tripped yesterday. Sped up to full speed for the last 30 seconds. Can't wait for day…
  • I'm in for Silver (gotta have my rest days!) Just done day 1. My form was diabolical, after 5 minutes I had to resort to hop-stepping over the rope because my legs refused to jump anymore. But I did the whole 10 minutes non stop. It was very humbling to say the least. I can run 5k and swim a mile, but 10 minutes with a…
  • I bought a pair of Sauconys last week. Was the first time I'd gone to a proper sports shop to get shoes. The shopkeeper actually facepalmed when I showed him the 4 year old Nike Airs I've been running in.
  • If I coast down a hill on the way out, I have to pedal up it on the way home, so I reckon it averages out the same. Same story for stopping at traffic lights, I might get a few seconds break, but then I have to pedal hard to get back up to speed. No idea if its accurate or not though. I guess without a HRM its hard to tell.
  • I stopped getting my period for several months when I was doing an active job for 60 hours a week. When I changed jobs to a 45 hour week they came back. Basically my body was under too much stress to look after itself AND a baby. So it may be you have nothing to worry about, but like everyone else has said I would get…
  • Thank you for all the kind and helpful responses everyone. I'm glad I'm not the only one who's accidentally under estimated their food. I measured my oats for porridge yesterday, and have been eating 50g, not 40g, which is a much smaller miscalculation, so I'm a bit less worried now. I like the idea of having smaller…
  • Hmmm.... I have scheduled 2 or 3 times a week Martial Arts Running Transport most days Cycling Walking Usually once or twice a week, but no sweat if I miss it Horse riding Swimming Occasionally / when I have time or am in the mood. Dancing Pro Jumps (they're stilts with massive leaf springs on the back, good fun!) Extra…
  • Oh my! I can't even manage MFP protein portions. I average about 55-60g of protein a day and weigh about 150lbs. I might have to get some protein powder. =| Or eat more eggs.
  • I usually pick one or two of the following to go on my salad. Cottage Cheese Grapes Almonds (or any nut) Olives Pickled beetroot Soy Sauce Baked beans (odd, but it works) Raisins (or any dried fruit) Cheerios (OK, I'm weird but I like 'em)
  • Height 5'6" (5'7" if I really try) Weight 150lbs Body fat 25-27% (online calculators) Thigh 24" Calf 16.5" I LIKE having strong legs. No stick legs for me k thanks.
  • I used to until my contract ended (was a temp) About a 4 or 5 mile trip in 20-25 minutes. Faster than the bus, but rush hour traffic was hella scary! Had a couple of near misses with ignorant drivers who want to kill me and blind or sleepy pedestrians that just step into the road without looking. =o I really miss it *sad…
  • Its a compliment and I see it as such. Though being whistled at by van drivers when I'm walking a dog in jeans and a t-shirt has got REALLY old.
  • Congrats on getting married! As everyone has said, wedding dresses come up small, so you may need a size larger. I'm 5'6" and most of my clothes are size 14. I need a 16 for jackets and jumpers as I have broad shoulders and long arms. Bust 36 to 37 Waist 28 to 29 Hip 39 to 40 hope that helps.
  • I started running about 3 months ago, and to start with it was hard. REALLY HARD. When I started I simply couldn't run the 8 or 9 minutes you've just done. I would do 3 minutes, walk until I caught my breath, then run another 3 minutes 3 or 4 times. This helped with the "my lungs have been through a cheese grater" feeling.…
  • Mine is open. BEHOLD MY PIZZA AND ICE CREAM And I'm still (slowly) losing weight.
  • Just my two cents- I've put on a LOT of muscle tone doing nothing but cardio. I keep it varied (there's like 7 or 8 different activities in my diary) so I don't hammer any particular set of muscles too hard. I try to eat plenty of protein and rest for one day a week so I can repair/rebuild. I also might be genetically…
  • I've been on-and-off Antidepressants most of my adult life. Personally I find they "even me out" I feel a bit dull on them, but its a whole lot better than being soul-destroyingly unhappy and trying to kill myself. Currently been off them for about 5 months. My energy levels are better off them and I use exercise to help…
  • I go more on how I feel than what the scales say. I actually gained a couple of pounds when I started trying to lose weight (started in March, only just signed up to MFP) because I converted fat into muscle. Just don't get discouraged by the scales. Its taken me 3 months to lose 2 kilos, but I've dropped a dress size and I…
