Hello, I'm Pattye, turning 66 in a few days and want to lose a total of 68lbs. I weigh 212.8 as of this morning. I set my first goal for 199 lbs. I just got back from vacation and am ready to seriously get started (again, lol). I am going to start back to Curves beginning Monday and go 3 times per week. I am changing up my…

I did IF for about 2 months and like you it definitely stopped my night time cravings. However unlike you I slept sooooo much better. Not sure why you didn't sleep, but IMO it wasn't from IF . What type of IF were you doing? I was on 1 meal a day. God bless you don't give up. Eta: I also am a night time coffee drinker

I eat 1MAD and eat whatever I want within my calorie goal. I usually eat at 3pm, but move the time up and down to meet my social needs. I eat once a day because I find it easier to control calories. Less likely to go over calorie intake. I like not having to plan so many meals and snacks and constantly be thinking about…

I do 1MAD works for me. I love it, wish I had found it years ago. Search the groups for intermittent fasting .

I do 23:1, 1MAD, works for me. If you are trying to lose weight, it is still calories in vs calories out no matter what your eating window is.

I eat 1MAD. It works for me. Don't feel dizzy, weak, hungry (except at meal time), jittery or any other creepy thing people say will happen. I am very active for my age. I eat at my goal calories. Eat healthy foods and enjoy my meal and lovely dessert. I have been doing this for a month. I am old enough to be you…

Always love the information you find. Great read. Thanks.

65 years old. Eating 1Meal A Day. Time: when ever I decide to eat ( usually 3 pm). Eating at calorie deficit. Exercising. Feel better than I have in 30 years. Works for me. Really enjoy my meal. No problems getting in all my calories. Do not feel weak, dizzy, or any other thing people say will happen. I have come to…

Thanks for the replies. I will go with you guys.

http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/how-intermittent-fasting-might-help-you-live-longer-healthier-life/ We are here, but it is hard to find a group that logs consistently about it. I'm new at it too and love it. Not only the health benefits, but it has given me control with over eating my calorie goal amounts. A lot…

Read the MFP forums. The people who have had success losing weight and keeping it off tell us over and over to eat at a deficit and exercise to lose weight. At some point these HIGHLY successful people quit making ever excuse known to man, grew up and started doing the right thing. Don't you think they had cravings,…

God bless you to, baby girl.

Stop binging. Do it not because you WANT to but because you HAVE to.

MFP has my calorie goal at 1200. I don't have a problem eating within that goal. Don't know how 1700 would be. I have a good healthy meal and a lovely dessert every day.

I have been doing 1MAD (one meal a day) for the last 17 days. Works great for me. Losing weight, have more energy. Give your plan a try. Gives your digestive system a chance to rest.

Hey everyone. I've been out of town for the past few days and got in a lot of walking while shopping (not sure it counts as exercise, but beats sitting in the chair, lol). Merrygrannie: so glad you got to spend some time with you grandsons, I'm sure they did keep you busy at that age. I only go to Curves 3 days a week as…

Mary, I enjoy walking too, but there is no safe place around me to walk without driving to get to a safe place (if you can find a safe place) My insurance pays for Curves so it cost me nothing to go except my time, which leaves me with no excuse, lol. I have read on a lot of these forums, that in addition to walking you…

Hi Carrol, glad to see you posting on this site. I can't really give advice, because I'm in the same boat as you, but sure can give encouragement. I don't like to exercise either. Joined Curves and went 3 days a week for a month, then just stopped one day and haven't been back. I am out of town now, but plan to start back…

Hi everyone. Hope you all are having a quiet peaceful Sunday morning. I'm sitting here drinking coffee and trying to decide what to do today. My toy Schnauzer would love it if I would just sit and hold her all day long, lol. I'm thinking of a short trip to the beach for a walk in the sand. Wouldn't be able to stay to long…

Hi Group. I am looking forward to this weekend. Going to do some shopping with my son at the outlet mall. Hope to get some walking in on the treadmill when we get back too. I am feeling good and this is day 6 of the One Meal A Day diet. It is working great for me. I eat whatever I want (within calorie range) and don't…

Good morning everyone, I haven't dropped out., but just realized there was a response to this group. I'm still at MFP but going to try 1 meal a day as I lost so little weight in 33 days. I think I have a problem counting calories and seem to be able to adjust the numbers up and down to suit what I want to eat, even with…

I faced the same problem for years and as a result I am 80 lbs over weight. Recently a light bulb went off in my head. Each day when we wake up, everyone of us makes many life changing decisions. One of those decisions is to eat normal portions of food or eat everything in site. Please join me each day and each minute of…
