Hi Chatty. Welcome to the group. Nice to have a new oldie along for the ride :)

Lots of workout videos on YouTube for free. There are cardio videos, circuits with strength / cardio and abs, bodyweight training. You name it, you'll find it.

I've been logging and prelogging for almost 2 yrs. It was good for me for a long time. Now I tend to not listen to the hunger signals, if I see there are cals left in the bank. I also just focus on food too much. It is not a general recommendation, just something I need to do, because it was messing up my mind and focus.…

We'd do anything to help you get back into the loop, Orlcam. That's just how we are :p

lulu - my cousin spent several months in a charity project in India. He died and went to heaven (figuratively speaking), when we invited him to eat with us. He said it was the most authentic Indian, outside of India, he's ever tasted. I can't judge that, but I can say it is scrumptious. If you are ever in Switzerland......

Love your story funchords! Congratulations. Cutelatin - funchords is not alone. I think, many people turned from surgery after losing during preparation for it. Both roads are not easy and need disiplin. Even with surgery you will have to change your intake and fix your relationship with food. I read an article a while…

As far as I know, BF-Scale measurements are very dependent on how hydrated you are. Thus it's important to do the measurement in a similar body state. Probably easiest in the morning. Even though the measurement is not a 'true' value in comparison to a bod pod, the trend should show you where you are headed. But this is…

My walk turned into a run. Just a thin blanket of snow, sun, no wind and just below freezing. Perfect B)

I am very happy to report, that Carbi is not alone in her quest to get back at it! This morning after two successful fasts and pretty nice inbetween days (+/-TDEE) and some regular exercise, I saw a number on the scale, that I haven't seen for 2 months! 57.2kg!! I didn't log some of my days this week and some I logged…

@bburg86 -I've heard of people losing slowly but steadily on 5:2 with thyroid problems. Don't be too discouraged! Is there a possibility, that carrying less weight will have a positive effect on your thyroid? Focus on the other health effects 5:2 can have. I have friends, who were in constant pain before, when fasting…

18h40 - Fast day cals are down the hatch. Now drinking tea. If I make it to bedtime (AND I WILL!!) it was a successful fast day. According to this morning's scale reading, I shoud be in for a weighin below 58kg for the first time since the end of 2014.... I'm ready for that! And some very big snow flakes coming down out…

Lulu, Don't know, but I wake up ravenous after having alot to eat the day before. So I guess it works both ways. I'm assuming it has something to do with the way carbs affect blood sugar. They tend to make me hungrier, thus I avoid them on fast days....no blood sugar spikes...less hungry the next morning...or so my theory…

It is now Friday.....anybody joining me on my fast day? Congrats to all the Thursday fasters!
-
Counted my cals after the fact today. A bit over, as I had no exercise today. On the positive side...I set up my new shoe closet with the help of a friend tonight (you know, Orlcam, for all of those nice boots I have ;-) ) and cooked a thai dish with lots of veggies, some chicken and glas noodles for my helper and myself.…

I saw that, Carbi! Fastabulous!

It was always here...just buried a bit.

Mine has been pushed back to Friday.... Was planned for tomorrow, but doc pushed my appointment to another time, thus moving tonights plans to tomorrow, thus moving my fast....Gee how glad am I, that 5:2 is flexible :p

Scientists can't help it, Smithiekat. I have mine in exel and added a trend line ;)
-
Lol lulu. To your squint post....very nice, but I think, you need glasses B)
-
Smithiekat - the beauty and success of 5:2 is it can be tailored to your needs. If you need to graze, that's fine. 500 cals twice a week. That's the 'rule'. Everything else is up to you :) I do better on two meals, as I get hungry if I graze. Both ways are legit. You need to do what works for you as that is the only way it…

These are mine.....boots and skirts are hard to find, because I'm also short. But they sure as h*** help getting up the hill on my runs :p Partly genetic...dad gave them to me...the rest is due to running, riding, biking, body weight training. Always had 'em, learned to luv 'em.

Opps, I missed the pic! Orlcam - I think, alot of us have had trouble getting back on track after the holidays. Can't really say what will help you.... I started by not buying as many treats (if they aren't in the cupboard, I can't eat them...) and doing some homework with postive affirmations. These are not directly diet…

As above poster said. I lowered my carbs a bit from the start, as my digestion prefers to have less of them. If your cals are ok, going over on the fats won't hurt you, IMO. Just make sure alot of the fats come from healthy sources.
