  • Failed my fast today and ended at 1100...a 2/3rds day it is...so at least I can call it a low day :)
  • Yup. I agree with jknight. Normally you don't eat exercise cals back on a fast day. Letting your digestive system rest has other positive effects than weight loss like a stronger immune system.

  • You can heat them. I often soak just the oats overnight and warm them with fruit and additional fluid in the morning just to reduce cooking time. That was before hearing about overnight oats :D Very yummy is grated carrot and nutmeg/cinnamon in the oats....like a spiced carrot cake. Was sceptical.. .but very yummy ;-)

  • Maintenance isn't maintenance if the weight creeps up.... I sooo need to get my act back together...fast days are going better again...now I need to ramp up the exercise and stay in my cals on normal days more often. Piece of cake....hmmm no...cake doesn't help :p
  • I don't eat breakfast on fast days, but an egg / omelette with berries would be good. Or fat free high protein Greek style yoghurt with a handful of berries could be good.

  • Ckmama- could be the grain carbs on non fast days that cause your bloating. I never realized where mine was coming from...water retention and gas were caused by too much grain in my case. I still eat it but less often and smaller quantities, often pretty limited to weekends. On fast days I avoid grain carbs...too many cals…

  • My fast ended at 800 yesterday....a maintainance day today and a 50 min ride to work and back on my bike. Fasting tomorrow and also biking to work. Will try to stay around 500 tomorrow. Meals are planned...so just stick to it ;-)

  • I've done both. Mix and match as I wish. But my losses in 4:3 weeks aren't larger because I then tend to overcompensate on normal days. Everyone is different. Try it and see if it suits you. If not go back to what worked for you.
