It may not have been a true gain. Like, real fat gain. I ate poorly for awhile this month and "gained" five pounds. I went back to my newer, healthier habits and in three days, I was back to my weight before I "gained." It was just water that I was retaining. If you just get back on track, you could be where you want to be…

This. I'm currently still "obese" and nobody has said much. I am just waiting - WAITING, I tell you - for all these people around me, especially a choice few, to suddenly get concerned with how small I am when they couldn't care less now.

This - option B is what I was trying to describe with my previous comment. :)

Just wait until you're successful and she's still yo-yo dieting. You're doing so well, don't let her get to you. And don't assume my above sentence means "keep her in your life for a year while you get to your goal weight, even if it makes you miserable, just so you can shove it in her face." Absolutely not. Dump her if…

Losing it as fast as possible hasn't been sustainable for you thus far, though. How much do you have to lose? How tall are you?
-
Why 1200? And, it's day four. You need to give it more time.

That whole notion of diets & calorie counting not popping up until the 1970s is such bull. The author fails to note that with the evolution of technology, people around the world are getting lazier but still eating the same (and often more) quantity of foodstuffs. Our "pre-1970, non-calorie count[ing]" ancestors were…

I hate incense! All of it! It reeks. Also, new car smell and those air fresheners that are "cool linen." I also don't mind eating sauerkraut, but I hate the smell, so I can rarely convince myself to eat it unless my mom made it--but when I'm back home and she cooks it, I have to leave the house! Yuck! ETA: cigarettes,…

I would suggest not aiming for such a big loss in such a small amount of time. Instead, start your new healthy lifestyle today and lose what you can before your trip. It won't be 80-100 pounds, but a more realistic 30-45 pounds if you really stick with it. ETA: My goal is pretty similar and my timeline is to lose it by my…

I record everything in a planner that I have, but I rarely record gains on MFP unless I know they are fat gains. Like this morning, I was up three pounds - but I'm on my period, so I'm not going to record a true gain when all I did was retain some water. It's going to drop back down in a couple days & then it will look…

My birthday was last week. I didn't track. I was already looking at food as numbers and having a lot of anxiety - why would I ruin the day even more? It wasn't just my birthday, it was my fiancé's too. I ate what I wanted to.

You look fantastic!

It isn't officially recognized as an eating disorder, but that doesn't mean it isn't potentially harmful and that doesn't mean it isn't an eating disorder. It just hasn't been classified as one yet. It all depends on how orthorexia would present in someone and it's up to their doctor to assign an accurate diagnosis…

Yeah. My fiancé, his father, his brother, and my brother are all the sweetest men I have ever known and they're reaping the benefits of being legitimately nice. They certainly aren't friendzoned. My brother is the only single person in that list and he's single by choice so he can focus on school. I'm an American and I…

I remained the same. My fiancé and I share a birthday two days before Valentine's Day. I couldn't eat my pie on my birthday, so I ate it on the 13th. We went for dinner on Valentine's Day, I couldn't finish my meal, so I ate it on the 15th. And then I started getting my monthly pre-period ravenous hunger the next day, then…

Yep. I don't even track my sugar. I went over JUST from the fruit I eat and the honey I put in my tea. I'm a visual learner and seeing a number in the red by the end of breakfast was horrible for me. Plus, I needed to start tracking iron (I have anemia), so I figured that would be the best to trade it out with & the most…

I stay perfectly on my plan until about 3-7 days before my period and then the first day of my period. When it's here or about to be, I have the worst cravings and I'm prone to binging. I retain water and feel so gross and bloated. But then the second day, I don't want to binge--in fact, I don't want to eat much at…

What a great way to show your progress! Great job!

You look amazing!

I'm barely under 5'4" (I'm 5'3.85") and I'm aiming for 125-130.
-
I don't have a TV, but when my fiancé and I watch Netflix/Hulu/Youtube on the computer, I drink tea. Also, I always save calories for later in the day as a habit to prevent my tendency to want to binge in the evenings, so usually I do have some kind of snack while watching a show online.

I eat bread.

I have a Health-O-Meter digital scale that I got for like $30 a few years (3-4) ago at Walmart. I tap the corner to get to my "profile" and step on it after it zeroes out. If I question the result, I do a "best out of three" and I record whichever number I got twice as my official weigh-in result.

Okay, so you're exercising. But how much are you eating? Your diary is closed and you didn't say. You can't out-exercise a bad diet, you could be overestimating your calories burned, you could be retaining water from all that new exercise (and maybe sodium if you're over in that), etc.

I LOVE ALL THE TEA!! :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: In for tea!

Also this. I'm willing to bet that the people in the success stories forums didn't hit a road block, blame it on the computer program they track on, then post a rant on said program's message board about how it's not their fault they've hit a road block, it must be the computer's. 90 pounds lost? All me. Can't lose weight…

SOLID first post. I agree with this.

In, for FUPA. :drinker:

Crap. Me too.
