Peach, I used to be on Topamax, but it caused really bad irritability and I was taken off. I'm currently on gabapentin, peroxicam, and I take turmeric capsules and drink joint health tea. glassofroses, thank you for the advice! I have to be very careful with yoga because of my wrists and left hip, but I have some DVDs for…

Hi! I know this is an older topic but I have a rare congenital carpal fusion, hypermobility type Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, headaches, and am being tested for fibro and early onset arthritis (I'm 24).

Thank you both for your responses! I'm on day four of a really bad pain episode and feeling really discouraged.

Welcome, Sara!

Beautiful before and after! Amazing transformation! We have similar stats, so this was even more motivating. <3

I want to lose a little over 100 pounds. I lost a bunch of weight, about 60 pounds, and gained most of that back because I was starving myself! I just broke up with my fiancé, who fueled unhealthy eating habits for me (not that I'm not to blame, too), and I'm living with my parents again. Sad, but necessary--and my mom's…

It was good, but I got it for free. I'd never pay that much to try it.

Newly single.

I don't go for girls, but I'd definitely hug you <3

Thank you all SO MUCH for the kind responses. To be honest, I was a bit worried that someone was going to read into the situation and find a way to tell me it was all in my head, but I'm pleasantly surprised by the kindness of the responses. I definitely feel like I made the right decision, it is just really very hard…

Polar FT4 (the pink wristband one). LOVE IT. It motivates me, it's simple, it was only $50USD on Amazon at the time (down from $60, which I still would have paid for this product since I love it so much), and I can't believe I was hesitant to get a HRM. I've had it for a couple of months and it goes with me to the gym…

This was a really empowering post for me! Thank you!

My biggest motivation is my wedding in October 2015 and the dresses I'll be trying on in August 2015, but I have a thousand other reasons to get to my goal weight and be healthy, most of which have already been mentioned by other users (clothing, feeling good, easier to move around, easier on the aging process, doctors not…

I'm not newly engaged, but I'm getting married October 2015. I still want to lose about 60 pounds before the wedding/dress fittings (so, really, I'd like to lose 60 pounds by August 2015). SW: 234 CW: 196ish GW: 130ish

I want to look good in my wedding dress and feel comfortable in my body. My wedding is October 3, 2015 and I want to lose about 60 pounds before then. I've lost about 40 already this year.

240 pounds. Never again. I'm about 196 pounds now.

Love seeing all of the Wisconsinites on the board! I'm in Madison and I've lived in WI all of my life. I was born in Janesville and grew up north of Madison, lived up by Wausau for a few years, and now live in the capital. Getting pretty chilly - I wore a jacket today! Feel free to add me. I'm 5'3" and 23, I've lost nearly…

I weigh once each morning. I don't weigh throughout the day, I just pick the same time and situation (morning, after I go to the bathroom, undressed, etc) and weigh myself then. I try not to take little fluctuations seriously. I just keep myself in check better with daily weigh ins rather than weekly ones. It's purely…

What a sweet way to celebrate your success!

You look fantastic - you're well on your way! Be proud of your accomplishments and use that as fuel to get to your ultimate goal!

You look great! Take it easy!

I get so stoked about reaching my goal and then I'm hit with the realization that it's going to be months before I see my end results and that is very discouraging. I've been trying to make it a day to day thing and that helps. All I can focus on is today. I broke down my goals into smaller ones, so my first goal is just…

That's a good goal. I'm in.

I have less than ten pounds to Onederland and I'll probably cry, too. And that is only after a couple of years. Congrats on your victory!

I'm not sure who people think they are to comment on things like this. Complete strangers feel compelled to approach others and swoop in to save the day. Ugh. I'm sorry this happened to you, but you had a perfect reaction. I probably would have shut down out of embarrassment, left the store, and then I would have let it…

This drove me crazy, too. I ended up buying a heart rate monitor (Polar FT4 HRM, specifically). MFP overestimates calories burned and machines, even with my entered stats (age and weight), seem to underestimate calories burned compared to my HRM. I avoided eating back my exercise calories and tried to go with the lowest…
