This drove me crazy, too. I ended up buying a heart rate monitor (Polar FT4 HRM, specifically). MFP overestimates calories burned and machines, even with my entered stats (age and weight), seem to underestimate calories burned compared to my HRM. I avoided eating back my exercise calories and tried to go with the lowest…

Three hundred calories over is not a big deal. I burned 306 calories doing a walk on the treadmill this morning. It sounds like a lot of calories to burn off, but it really isn't if you can find 40-60 minutes to do some moderate exercise. Pre-log your food or maybe buy some light yogurt to take your medications with. Light…

Great post! I struggle with loving myself at any weight. I'm always thinking, "Well, when I lose weight, I can..." or "My self-esteem will be better when I'm at my goal weight." It's hard to accept that you can love yourself at your highest weight and on the journey down to the final goal weight.

I got goosebumps reading that! WOW!

You look stunning!!

I didn't see that other topic, but I love this message!

I always hate seeing myself in pictures or in the mirror. That's what I hate the most. I don't like being so uncomfortable in my own body that I can't stand to look at myself. I don't like being so uncomfortable in my body that I pushed my wedding back an entire year so I could lose weight because I was terrified of how I…

If you're not congratulating them on being at or under their calorie goal for the day, regardless of the types of food they have eaten and whether or not you agree with it, then you aren't the kind of support system they need. If these food choices put them over their goals consistently, maybe lend an ear; it sounds like…

Ugh, I'm with you, OP! I work as a CNA full time at one job and almost full time at the other, so I'm cooking, cleaning, washing, doing laundry, etc., for 20 other people at the facility (and then these same things for one person in her home) and thus have no motivation to do these things at my own home. I attend nursing…

What a positive outlook! Good job! :)

I would never comment on someone else's appearance, but people seem to feel like weight is a free pass to comment on. I think that can be rude, but not in all circumstances (I'd be more receptive to a long time friend offering to go to the gym with me than some guy in a food court telling me I don't have to live this way,…

Great job!

This, too. What will happen if you DO reach your goal weight and get married to him? Hint: he'll want to KEEP YOU AT THAT WEIGHT. Is there going to be a prenup banning you from going over 140 pounds at any point for the rest of your married life, except maybe when he "lets" you get to 150ish for a pregnancy and then gives…

From not knowing the OP and her situation personally, my answer would be that gut reaction of "NO, it's not right!" I care more about losing weight for my wedding than my fiancé does and that's what a healthy relationship feels/seems like to me. I wanted the wedding to be this October and then pushed it to May next year…

I got engaged in December 2013 and was originally planning for an October 2014 wedding (the 18th or 25th), but I was putting too much stress on myself worrying about my weight and also just planning the wedding itself, so we're looking at May 9, 2015 instead with engagement photos this October to sort of compromise.

I don't have Bipolar Disorder, but I'd still like to say some things, if you don't mind. I'm training to be a psychologist, but I am by no means a professional at all. I also struggled with unipolar clinical depression and a dual, comorbid anxiety disorders (GAD and panic disorder NOS--which, for me, means I have…

No she can't. MFP already counts it in her activity level. Doing your regular routine is not exercise, it's your activity level, and if you mistake the two, you could end up eating at maintenance or at a surplus without realizing it and then wonder why the scale isn't moving downward. ETA: People with lightly to moderately…

I'm a CNA so I move around a lot at work too. I also have an unpredictable connective tissue disorder that affects my collagen called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. I still find time to go for a walk with my fiancé. You don't need to do intense, multiple-hours-long exercise sessions. Sit down for dinner when you get home, then go…

My fiancé's family has a tradition of peanut butter & mayonnaise toast. It's actually really good.

My goal would be to weigh between 170-180 pounds or less by June 1st. That is a loss of about 30 pounds at the very least over the next three months. I was really dedicated in January and lost 9.2 pounds and I know I can do it again, so I feel like it's not an outrageous goal.

I stick to basically the same foods in general. I always have something like oatmeal, cereal, or yogurt for breakfast. Lunch is almost always a sandwich, either homemade or Subway. Dinner is usually chicken and a salad. My snacks are usually nuts, Quaker Popped, Fiber One, apples, and I will always have tea throughout the…

You all look like different people entirely!! WOW!

I think he was just ashamed at being asked to do the right thing & be a courteous gym member. Yeah, you could have said "please," but you also thanked him more than once and didn't seem to be a brat about it. His pride is probably a little injured, I don't think you were in the wrong nor do I think you were rude. ETA: You…

You look amazing & I approve of the Packer gear!

I save calories for later in the day (lately I've been stressed and avoiding food, I'm not really a stress-eater anymore) and snack, and if that isn't enough, I go to bed. I get up early everyday so it just gives me a longer, healthier sleep than normal, so it's a win-win for sleep & not binging. I also posted some…

Me. I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and I walk a lot all day. I'm busy and in pain, so I focus on my diet more. I'm in PT so I learn low-impact exercises and when the weather is a little better, I'm going to start making time for the pool.

You look so good--amazing progress!
