Wow! I'm surprised by all these responses. I've been on and off Zoloft for about 11 years and never affected my weight whatsoever. Actually being on it helps me lose weight purely because I have more motivation to actually get out of bed and not eat crap all day long. Hope you all find something that works for you.

I'm not sure exactly how old they are but just don't buy the junk or give them money for fast food. Then they can't eat it unless they go out to get it themselves. Cook like you used to. I'm new to them to! so far I've put them in smoothies and today I put them in my yogurt. I soaked them in water and let them gel up first and didn't even notice they were there. I keep them already soaked/gelled in the refrigerator. a tip I learned from another MFP user.

I agree with what everyone else is saying but also everyone is different. I'm currently set at 50% carbs/30%fat/20% and that's what works for me. I need the carbs. I have that problem too. I eat one with a handful of almonds or a low cal string cheese and that does the trick.
