  • Like you, I also have a full time desk job and run kids around all evening. I fit my workouts in at night between 8-10. I also find it helps me sleep better. I prefer to go to the gym but if not, I will just work out at home. I have weights at home or if I'm really lacking motivation, I will pop in a Jillian Michaels DVD.…
  • I have way to much experience with this. I also have 2 jobs and children in sports and other activities. I can pretty much find something that fits my goals anywhere. You just have to modify sometimes. I also have a dairy allergy which can be difficult. Some of my go to fast food meals are Chipotle- Salad with Chicken,…
  • Maybe a "healthier" candy? like YumEarth lollipops. Maybe even Organic fruitstrips or those tiny boxes of raisins?
  • I'm dairy free because by body can't tolerate it anymore. I don't really have any specific recipes, I just leave it out. My diet consist of mostly lean meats and veggies. Instead of pasta, I have spaghetti squash, zoodles, or even shiratki noodles. cauliflower rice is also pretty good. I use almond milk for cereal, shakes,…
  • I work out at the same time and usually just have either a shake with protein powder and almond milk or sometimes blend in a little frozen fruit. I feel I need a little something after a workout but don't really feel hungry enough to eat. Play around and see what works for you.
  • I use a can of crushed tomatoes and add my own seasonings instead of jar sauce. I prefer it, and it reduces the calories a bit. Also use lean meat. I also enjoy it over spaghetti squash.
  • Hi eimichan, I don't personally take any medications but my son takes medication for bipolar disorder. When he was on Risperal, his eating was out of control, he just couldn't control his hunger. The docs switched up his medications and put him on Lithium and seroquel which are not supposed to have the same symptoms. His…
  • It's not an easy thing to do. You are doing a great job trying. My suggestions are to Buy frozen veggies. They're usually cheaper and you don't have to worry about them going bad. Make oatmeal instead of cereal. It's super cheap and you can mix it up many ways. My kids like it with some brown sugar and raisins with chopped…
  • From what I can see, it looks like you are eating too much. When you put in that you are active, you are accounting for the workouts. I see that you are not eating all of your exercise calories back but you are eating some of them back. If MFP gave you 2200 based on the fact that you are active then you shouldn't be eating…
  • Its all about the prep. Trust me. Two week kayaking trip and we were still eating meat and eggs on day 14 :) [/quote] Yes! This
  • I'm also only 5ft tall and petite so I know you pain. I decided 1200 was just too low for me and upped it to about 1400-1500. Yes it will be a slower loss but I need the food and energy. looking at your typical day, I personally would: Replace the soy milk with unsweetened almond milk. Only 30 calories per cup. Add more…
  • I regularly go camping in a tent without any electricity. I do have access to ice (camp store or gas station) What I do is I make meals like chili and pulled pork ahead of time and freeze them in containers and put them in the cooler. The day we are going to eat it, I take it out and let it thaw then I reheat it over a…
  • I love avocados! I use them in salads, on top of chili, sliced on sandwiches and burgers, mashed up on toast with an egg. I also love to mash half an avocado and mix it with tuna instead of mayo, add a little salt and pepper. Plain is good also.

  • When mine were that little I would just wait until they went to bed or I would take walks with them, play on the playground with them, things like that. When they got to be old enough to play with things on their own without putting everything in their mouth, I would use exercise time as the time to let them play with…
  • I don't know anything about curves but I've done a ton of Jillian Michaels DVDs. I just enter it as circuit training under cardio. I would also enter a little less time than I actually did because MFP tends to overestimate.
  • unfortunately I eat fast food more than I wold like These are my go to's I like McDonald's southwest salad and only use half a packet of dressing. comes out to 340 calories Wendy's has good salads just watch the dressing Wendy's small chili, garden side salad(no dressing) and 4 piece spicy nugget. only about 350 calories…
  • They used to. They got rid of them a long time ago.
  • Congratulations That's amazing! I'm Cuban and Italian so I know how it is. anything that has to do with family is focused around eating huge amounts of unhealthy foods and if you don't something's wrong with you lol. Do you do any of the cooking? skinnytaste.com is an amazing site and she has found ways to lighten up many…
  • For me, a good Flavored coffee was key. One of my favorites is Target's Archer Farms brand. I thinks its vanilla biscotti. I know it has the word biscotti. all I need is a teaspoon or two of sugar (depending on the cup size) I still need cream for the regular stuff we have at work though.
  • Fish is hit or miss for me. It took a long time for me to like it. I love salmon so I just cook it with whatever seasoning I feel like for the day. I have made tilapia that was drizzled with olive oil and dipped in Parmesan cheese and baked. That was really good.
  • That's extremely low. My 1 banana that I just ate has 27 g carbs.
  • When I had my first, I was a single mom. I also had a full time job and was a full time student. So I know it' s tough. On days I didn't have class, I would usually go right after picking my son up from daycare and bringing him to the gym.( I had one with childcare). I would eat something in the car like a peanut butter…
  • fruit like apples, oranges, bananas.
  • Sounds sooo good. Thanks
  • You absolutely can take what you have learned home with you...as long as you can keep the motivation. For me, I need to go the the gym regularly. I do exercise at home to but I get distracted way too easily at home. I have two kids that are trying to get my attention or a husband that want s to talk to me while I'm…
  • I really like skinnytaste.com and she also has a cookbook that you can preorder from amazon or target right now.
  • What I used to do was make a sandwich to bring with me or a some kind of homemade muffin like someone else suggested and pair that with a fruit or baby carrots. also hard boiled eggs, cheese sticks, homemade granola bars, things that i could easily eat in the car. What also helped me was to eat either a bigger breakfast or…
  • they do sell a sell soda made with stevia called Zevia. I have never tried it so I can't tell you how it tastes.
  • My kids are 9 and 5 and never leave me alone long enough to get in a workout. I once kicked my daughter in the face doing a DVD because she walked in front of me just a s I was kicking :( I now have a gym membership which helps but on days I cant make it, I give them things to play with that I normally don't like play…
  • so doing some quick math, I got the same ratios as what you get in excel. The only thing I can think of is that MFP tracks more than carbs/fat/protein and the ratios are taking that into consideration even though it only shows those three.??
