  • Same here! It actually took me joining the military to really break me out of my shell at the age of 22. I enjoy socializing at work, but outside of work I still prefer to be alone. Parties, going to movies with friends, all of those things will always make me uncomfortable, I think. A big part of me still doesn't want to…
  • I was the kid who was so shy, quiet, and timid that my teachers thought I had hearing problems/learning disabilities. Shows how much they know.
  • Oh cool, I didn't know about this! Exciting!
  • Yess!!! And they say moderate drinking (one a day) is actually beneficial to a long, healthy life. Drink your glass of wine and enjoy.
  • If you're honest with yourself and this website, you will see a change in the next couple weeks. A couple days? Probably not... but you're not looking for a quick fix right?
  • I'm really interested in the New Rules of Lifting.. I looked it up on Amazon and I see a couple different books. Where should I start? I've been doing P90X on and off for about a year and I'm ready to progress from there. Thanks!
  • All I can do is wish you luck. I HATE injuries.... and I especially hate taking time off for them, but it's necessary for healing. I was really worred about my left knee for a long time. I finally went to the doc and she said I had a little fluid, get over it (Navy doc, lol). As soon as I got really into lunges and squats,…
  • Ugh.. nothing was funny, all was annoying. I don't even like to think about it.
  • I can't relate to the car experience (although my fam does own an old beat up Subaru wagon!) but the TOM experience? I've actually had that one in middle school. You're not alone haha. Being a girl sucks sometimes.
  • My mom always monitored our dessert/snack portions and I'm very grateful she did. She packed applesauce in our lunches instead of fruit rollups like the other kids. She didn't have soda in the house or junk food cereal. She also had little rules like, if you had soda with dinner at a restaurant then no dessert after…
  • Powerful stuff. Thank you for sharing. I'm 26 years old and I've spent many years feeding my self hate. I landed myself in terrible situations over and over again thanks to it. Just to piggyback on what you said... My life didn't get better until I found a reason to live. I found goals that were bigger than myself. Bigger…
  • Make room in your life for Legs & back!! It's by far my favorite. I would suggest that over Kenpo especially if you already have zumba. The best shape I've ever been in my life was when I had the time to do five P90X workouts a week, including yoga (but dropping Kenpo and replacing it with running). Legs & Back does…
  • You guys realize that by us listing all these commercials we can't stand, we are providing free advertisement for the companies and thus accomplishing their goals. We are brainwashed =)
  • THAT gets in my head, the five dollar footlong song gets in my head, and those Living Social commericals get in my head too. I hate them all =(
  • I'd never buy Toyota anyway, but those toyota commercials with the snotty little blonde kid who makes other kids feel bad for having sensible parents who don't buy cars out of their means, or maybe can't afford to buy cars out of their means? I hate that kid and I hate the message that commercial sends. Even though they…
  • Wow. You actually really made me want to look into this!
  • I can totally relate. I just started my summer semester. I work over 50 hours a week and I go to school part time on top of volunteering. Do I have time to work out? Technically yes I do. But it's just SO hard to make myself do it now that I'm so busy. I'm trying to utilize a day planner to help me organize my life so I…
  • As yummy as all these super low-cal snacks are, they are all just so expensive. And they produce so much trash.. I still buy them occasionally, but once I go back to school full time next year I know I won't be able to afford a $4 box of 100 cal pre-packaged little baggies of food. I'm gonna have to find some low cal,…
  • Thanks everyone!! I actually feel a little more motivated now =) I think what I'm going to do is, just keep logging as much as I can even when I don't wanna. And I've never logged my water intake, so I'm going to actually DO that now and aim for the 8 cups a day and see what that changes. Also, I definitley need a new…
  • Who all's active duty here on MFP? USN, stationed in Norfolk, VA here!
  • That's awesome, congrats!! I've started wearing shorts... I used to hate my legs, but now after so much cardio and lifting shorts are ALL I wear. Hooray for us!
  • I agree with this. Better than dumping milk down the sink...
  • Whenever I have this sort of craving I think "Did I work out enough today and watch my calories enough for a fast food run?" if the answer is YES, then I might go. If the answer is no, then fair enough.. I let it go....
  • I believe the point of granola is, sure it's high in calories, but it's good for you. And it should be filling. Maybe look into making your own? If done right, it's supposed to keep you full so you aren't craving bad foods after the fact.
  • Pretty much!! I go there once a month, if that. And when I do, I just don't worry about it and enjoy =)
  • You are so adorable! What an amazing accomplishment! Go you!!!
  • Where did you find nutritional facts for Village Inn?? I love that place! Best breakfast, dinner, everything.
  • Cool article! I ran three miles today at an 8:30 min per mile average pace, so I guess I'm good to go.
  • WoW stole several years of my life, haha. Ever since I stopped gaming I've become very athletic and I've returned to college and I volunteer on my weekends. I had no idea how soul sucking video games can be. Sounds like you're on the right track though. Good luck, you'll get there!!
  • http://www.skinnytaste.com/2011/04/pineapple-bliss-cupcakes.html I made these pineapple cupcakes over the weekend and I could not believe how delicious they were. Boyfriend loved them too. I made the icing she has on there too... I'm thinking next time I'll make it into a cake rather than cupcakes. Seems less of a hassle.
