Just be aware, some research has shown that much of the benefit of protein powder is lost when heated, due to heat denaturing the proteins.

Lots of people think that in order to lose weight, one needs to eat more food. Lots of people think they are outliers on the BMI scale. Lots of people think they are "all muscle underneath this fat". All of which are false.

There is no sugar in diet soda.

Type I is inherited. Type II is because you're fat.

Would you agree, that if someone drinks a little too much each week, they probably are just partiers, and not necessarily using it as a coping mechanism; versus someone who black-out drinks every night, or drinks before work every day likely is using it as a coping mechanism for problems?

For losing weight? Calories are all that matters. Once you start nailing caloric goals, then look at your macro splits, and start working to hit those.
-
Which ever one is your primary focus, that's the one you should do first. If you're looking first, and foremost, at strength gains: Do strength training first, so as to not deplete glycogen you'd use for lifting. And, the reverse is true, if running improvement is your goal.

Rotisserie chickens. Can be had for about $5-6 in most US grocery stores. It's pretty much as pure a protein source as one can get, once the skin is removed.

You're agreeing completely with what I said. Your neck remains constant, more or less, until you reach the upper end of Overweight, and enter into "Obese" range. Bro. At this time, almost half your body is not lean mass. And, yes, you'll lose lean mass, while in a cut, this isn't in disagreement. Another poster put it in a…

CICO does take into account changing TDEE's... It's just one variable in the equation. And, FWIW, our bodies are very good at losing weight. In fact, that is the reason for fat stores: Easy access to energy during famines. The biggest problem for most is a lack of famine.

No, there's really not. However, if you have data that supports that supposition, I'm open to correction.

At home bioempedance is only slightly better than a best guess. How do you know what you're comfortable with? Do you prefer an immobile neck? No, I don't know my current lean mass, haven't had a DXA scan. Muscle hypertrophy isn't something in my current goals. Shocker: The picture in my profile was me +10 lbs. My neck has…

That data is available, and it has been done. In fact, BMI works for about 97% of the population as a measure of healthy weight ranges, and in fact, was adjusted a couple of years back to bring it more in line with that.
-
Even taking 21 pounds off of that pic, you are not 34% BF. Closer to 40. I am 170 currently, and 5'10". My bf% is hovering around 17%. From the sounds of it, you've got 2" in height on me. Again, you have plenty of weight to shed, that is not lean muscle mass. And, nowhere near single digit bf%...

There's an appeal to authority, which is actually proper. ie, When doing research in college for a paper, any claim you make must be cited by an authority until you are creating the research. If you are creating research, you cite your data. Then, there's the false appeal to authority. ie, using a statement from a…

Yes. It's the only scientifically supportable manner, due to physics. The mechanics behind it are flexible (keto/weight watchers/whatever), it still boils down to CICO. I logged everything that goes in my mouth, aside from water. I eat back some of my exercise cals, sometimes. As far as you not losing weight, then one of…

It's a fad diet. You lose a couple of pounds of water weight, which quickly returns. FWIW, this is nothing that anyone in the military uses, AFAIK. Did the "military thing" for 6 years, and never heard of it.
-
You have plenty beside functional muscle to shed... You're sitting at about 35% BF currently (If your pics are current).

"Exercise" from normal, daily things, like "Walking up stairs, 3 mins" or "Mowing grass, 30 minutes". That's just silly, and setting yourself up for failure. I also don't log strength training.
-
How about walking outside, instead of on a treadmill? I hate the dreadmill personally, running/walking outdoors is fun.
-
Because, it usually is. Food hits the reward centers of the brain, so it's an easy way to use food as an emotional crutch.

No, they were not. They were recently updated by the CDC. The WHO has another range they use, but it's pretty close to the CDC's.
-
What is the issue with the BMI? It was updated rather recently.
-
No. I just log fast food when I eat it.
-
Low calories, standard macro split. Lost 50 lbs in ~ 1 year, and I cheated quite a bit (Logged it all, though).
-
I was just the opposite when I tried it. Felt like total crap, which is typical (See: Keto Flu). My athletic performance went to shite as well. Went back to a normal, low calorie diet, resolved itself in a day or two.

I'll save you some work: All of your food is GMO'd food. Every. Last. One.

If you're somewhere where medical marijuana is available, get some edibles. Or, ask your doctor about Cannibino, a derivative.
