Or, people who are 200+ lbs, who are obviously an unhealthy weight, could just lose weight, instead of expecting the world to change for them.

Exactly. He's a super elite, with super low body fat, even in off season, and is still just into overweight territory.

The rider losing weight.

Because it's the new fad. Any diet-related discussion location on the interwebs attracts the keto acolytes. They're worse than crossfitters, IMO.

Raise the gates! Covering fire! Yes, I'm about as addicted as yourself. Took a break though, so I can run and just enjoy being outside, so no headphone/phone with me.

Um, menopause doesn't prevent fat loss...
-
eh, I don't lift to improve mind muscle connection. I lift to increase functional strength, and use isolation exercises only to correct imbalances impacting my running. So, yeah, ignoring isolation exercises for the most part fits right into my goals: Make me a better runner and cyclist.

Um, what? If you eat in a deficit, you will lose weight. That weight will come from fat, muscle, or both. Regardless of hormones. The proportions may be different. However, if what you say is true, menopause + deficit would be awesome! Body fat only, and you keep all of your muscle, or since you're losing fat, but not…

Um, I really doubt sitting on your derriere burns 183 cals/hr above and beyond your BMR...
-
Menopause or not, you still will lose weight if you eat 1500 calories, and burn 2000 calories.

I cheap out on most everything, other than shoes. Cheap running shoes will shut down training faster than anything else. But, that's one reason I like running: All you need is a pair of shoes, really. Everything else is just a "nice to have".

Go vegetarian. Seriously. Vegetables are so much cheaper than meat. And, to boot, you can even do canned veg. Splurge once a week on a meat item for like Sunday dinner, or something. Staples are beans (Of any variety, I really like black beans and lentils), and rice. Lentils and rice, or black beans and rice are protein…

Well, seeing as I've been called "anorexic looking", and weigh in at a 24.4 BMI, well, it's not hard to figure out why. Perceptions are skewed, since obesity and overweight are now "normalized" in many industrialized nations.

I've seen the photo numerous before, and looked into her blog. She overeats cupcakes. And cake. And chocolate. She has several articles with her and another HAES activist binging on pastries in hotel rooms.

All chicken you eat is processed in some way. I highly doubt you are rending it from the carcass, fresh after being killed...

Because they meet/exceed health department codes for clean food prep areas?

She obviously eats more than 1 cup cake at a sitting, and likely often.

I eat pizza many times per week. My weight is in a healthy range, I run 4-5 miles daily, resting HR is ~48bpm, best pace is 8:24'ish or so for an 8K. Last year, cholesterol and A1C came back clean. I showed my doc my food journal, and she showed no concern. So, what is unhealthy about it?

I get what you're saying. We were talking about 6th graders here, though. How is that too young? They're only a couple years away from high school at this point.

And, again, if we just relinquish that as "Well, teach it at home!" we'll continue down the path of ever-increasing obesity rates among children and adult; and Type II diabetes in children will continue to rise. Because, as a whole, parents are failing at this, and failing hard. To the point where the US cannot meet…

You mean perpetuating the notion that obesity is in fact, not OK? If so, I'm cool with that.
-
Go for it. I generally only accept requests from those who have an open diary, though. I expect users here to desire public accountability.

And, FWIW, I usually try to make sure 2 12 oz beers fit into my daily goals. Sometimes it works, sometimes, it doesn't :) PS I love beer :)

While that is most likely true, to to other deleterious effects on health, it's wholly unrequired for weight loss. If it fits your macros should be your guiding star. First: Does it fit your caloric goal? If so? Cool. Now, does is fit your macro goals (Carb/Fat/Protein)? If it matches both, go have that glass of wine! Even…

Depends on if one counts alcohol as a carb or not, really. Science does not, however, some fitness gurus (Bad and good) consider as such in their meal plans.
-
You run, and you lift? Program checks out for this :)
-
This above, and the fact that the treadmill paces for you. On your own, you need to learn to self-pace.
-
This is probably what I'm going to resign myself to. The lure of the outdoor run is too great to spend time on the bench, but wintertime is a time of many "skipped run days".
-
Why don't they need to learn the math yet? My kids, at age 11, were already learning algebra and biology...

Even crazier, you don't need crazy tests or alegrab (Calculus, really) to figure out your TDEE. You need to track caloric intake, and weight, and compare the results. That's all!
